- Hello Everybody!
In 2021 when we visited Big Bend we learned about the port crossing to the small town of Boquillas, Mexico. We weren't able to cross during that trip so we knew we had to go back! In this video we will show you our experience of how we crossed and spent a few hours visiting this tiny town. Enjoy!

Thank you so much. Same to you!
Some of the guides can take to some hot springs, wonderful views of the rio bravo/grande
We heard about the hot springs! We will definitely try to visit them next time.
International travel at its best!
That was cool!!! You cracked me up on the burrows! But I like the names.
Great video, guys. Bucket list adventure from Oregon. Luckily, I speak Spanish. Thanks for the heads up on icksnay on the ide-gay. I won’t get one, either, thanks to your advice. I’ll be assertive but polite. I watched another video in which the boat dude walked across the river while pulling the boat. In your video, the water level was a bit higher, and I see this guide used oars. Oh, and thanks for the interesting comments on how customs pipes you into El Paso via video chat. I thought that was pretty cool.
Thanks for watching and commenting! It’s good that you speak Spanish as that will come in greatly! When we were there the water was much higher and more swift. We had heard at times you can just walk across if you don’t mind getting wet. We would definitely go back. It’s a very neat experience. And thanks for sharing you are from Oregon! We just finished up a trip from there and I’m working on some videos as well. We mostly stayed along the coast and it was beautiful!
@@kyleandnicole Oh, shoot! I wish I had seen your video sooner. I live near Newport and my pottery is in the For Artsake Gallery in Nye Beach in Newport. I would have taken you guys to lunch! :-) Thanks for getting back to me. I will look forward to your Oregon videos.
That is very neat! We did check out Newport. Nice little downtown area. Loved the sea lions from the pier. Thanks for sharing. If we ever come back through we can stop in!
@@kyleandnicole You were on the Bayfront, Nicole. You may have eaten at Local Ocean (all we locals send friends there). Clearwater Restaurant is right there where the sea lions are. Yes! Do let me know if you ever get back!
Great video, this really helped out big time! And good filming to.
Thank you! Glad to help!
Never heard of this crossing. I like the boat ride and donkeys.
Yes! It was very different for sure and a neat experience!
I want to go
Definitely go!
Play pool at the bar, see the solar farm that powers the town, see the church. Buy only items while in Mexico. Sometimes they leave them for sale near other parts of the park. Buying those is actually illegal. Make sure to take a tour guide to give history. You can also go up into the mountains to the top. They also have a hot springs on the mexico side too.
When did they open this port of entry again? Does anybody know the "business hours" for this place? 🤔🤔🤔🤔
I know it closed for Covid. Not sure when it opened. When we were in BBNP Nov 2021 it was open. www.nps.gov/bibe/planyourvisit/visiting-boquillas.htm that link has the hours of operation.
Is passport required or can a state of TX resident with a star ID get through?
You would need a passport.
Acabamos de ir y si eres residente si puedes regresar con esa, mi esposo es residente, los ciudadanos americanos si necesitan su pasaporte.
You both look pretty young, why don’t walk the 0.64 mile from the river to the town instead of abuse of the little donkies or pay for a truck? 😢🙁
Well it was our first time. A truck wasn't offered for us, only the burros and it was a unique local tradition to experience. Next time we would just walk however.
