The base idea of fighting guerilla style against large groups of enemies that outgun you is already a compelling challenge, with the addition of tether system and physics sandbox tactics, it's just awesome and fights so much more rewarding that way. Thank you for finding and sharing the game Splatt'
This is basically a retro "Hardspace: Shipbreaker - but what if we weaponize the tethers?" I imagine this is what happens when the worker from Hardspace got tired of being in debt and decided the corp was going down.
Died to a chem burn, got a tip that says if you speed crash into another ship, you lose your burn and give it to them. Not sure if you can tag the creator in a comment, but hopefully you see this, splatty
This seems quite good, if they add a little bit of RPG elements, different maps ambient not just purple, add a little campaign maybe or even a coop mode even if in split screen i could see this being even more fun, it has an Asteroid vibe to it
Some tips: You can tether a ship's turrets to its own hull, dealing immediate crash damage from the turret as well as being particularly useful if there are no other ships nearby. You can intercept AM warheads and other munitions mid-flight. This is required to evade seeker torpedoes in particular. You can apply multiple elemental effects on a ship at once, combining them into stronger effects. For example, combining fire with coolant will cause a massive explosion.
Neat, kinda like Astroids inspired game in a lot of ways it seems. I definitely think it's a game that would benefit from the mousewheel granting the function to zoom in and out.
Visually and with the inertia I get heavy Mine Storm vibes (the Asteroids clone built in the MB Vectrex). Although it's not vector graphics, so it's probably more Asteroids directly. Looks really great!
Couldnt you pull the mines into the ship? It seemed like the gameplay was supposed to be based upon getting them to chase you into the enemies, or somehow tether them into the ship. Also, I noticed the enemy ship hurt itself when firing, could you not have positioned it so it would kill itself?
I like how you never once tethered a mine to their ships. You shot a mine once and it chased you (or rather, you pulled it to yourself), but it didn't even occur to you to tether the target ship first and then the mine. So many times you got chased by a mine right next to a ship, two quick tethers would've saved you so much bother, but nope, just try to run away and eat damage.
awesome concept. seems the trick is eliminating enemies with the highest threat level while using the lesser enemies as your ammunition. it's essentially a puzzle game. splatt seem to just kill enemies at random, which is irksome. but thanks for sharing/showcasing this indie game. finding hidden gems is what i like most about this channel.
There's two other games set in the same universe by the same, lone developer. Hyperspace Dogfights: Receive random equipment from above between waves, and overpower your low-tech opponents... but something is wrong. Swirl W@tch: A stealth-action roguelike in an overexploited gas giant. The enemies are stealthy too.
We need a mother ship wich spawns little drones. and with some like a weapon wich makes shockwaves. or slows your down. So you have to be very carefully. Also maybe something that makes it invisible for some seconds.
I love all your videos, how you find the time to get, learn and play all these games is amazing. I was wondering have you done Project Zomboid yet? I went looking through your videos and couldn't find it. Thanks for what you do, Peace, Love, and Taco's
Ok… so this got me thinking.. HARDSPACE: Combat Engineers.. special forces ship breakers in combat who jet pack in and wreck combat ships and/or sabotage ships and stations..
RFG didnt have a tether lol. It did have a lot of cool backpacks though albeit only in destruction mode. Just Cause series has the most tether based physics destruction.
So not only can you not shoot... but the ships coming after you don't know how to use their engines to actually move... Yeah this one I think will be a hard pass. :D
Wow... that is a viciously uncomfortable color scheme. How can one be expected to play a game when it hurts your eyes to look at it? Great concept. Terrible application.

12:05 There is a cam zoom setting in the video options by the way.

Recipe of the day:
Asteroids + Halflife 2 gravity gun = Very YES!

Another Indie gem.thanks Splatt

Yessssss you reviewed this gameeee!(I suggested this game in the comments of the Kenshi video).
The Jita joke got me out of nowhere, good job splat!
Improvised warfare is such a good goddamn description that I wish it was an actual genre
Pathfinder mains are gonna have a field day with this.
So.. ShipBreaker meets Asteroids meets Red Faction. Hang on. I've got a Phillip J. Fry meme for this somewhere.
Hahaha Splat, i kept hearing gorilla tactics 😂
Good video though, keep it up!

You can tether the mines to the shipyard, but getting it to kill itself from shooting takes a very long time.
Intresting style of games, look great
Yeah this looks extremely rad
The tac jumps are the ships from the same fleet moving around the field, right? This is definitely going on the Wishlist.

I was thinking about this myself. Glad I'm not the only one.

Milowda here for this beltalodowa fun.
Tether disassembly reminds me of hardscape shipbreaker.

Hyperspace Dogfights: Receive random equipment from above between waves, and overpower your low-tech opponents... but something is wrong.
Swirl W@tch: A stealth-action roguelike in an overexploited gas giant. The enemies are stealthy too.
Fun fact: The soundtrack was not actually made for the game. It's royalty-free music taken from various albums made by the artist Soft and Furious.
You can pull their guns off using the actual body of the enemy ship. It'll be a 2 in 1. Disabling and damaging the enemy's ship.
So it's more of an action puzzler than anything else, interesting.
Red Tether looks addictive
This game got crazy juice
Another one added to the steam list :)
I'm a fan of thier previous game Hyperspace and now I'm addicted to this game 2....I don't know , the artstyle is so good for me
I have not played this yet so I can't say for certain, but I watched another TH-camr and I believe he put the fire out by stop moving.
Soon as I saw the graphics I was turned off. After watching the play, I was was turned back on. Looks cool.
Sci-fi Killdozer simulator, hell yes.
We need a mother ship wich spawns little drones.
and with some like a weapon wich makes shockwaves.
or slows your down.
So you have to be very carefully.
Also maybe something that makes it invisible for some seconds.
Tether reminds me of Just Cause 3.

Yes he has. It's in there.
Is soundtrack available with the game? Sounds awesome
Ok… so this got me thinking.. HARDSPACE: Combat Engineers.. special forces ship breakers in combat who jet pack in and wreck combat ships and/or sabotage ships and stations..
🖤
Is it on steam?
Yes, it is
@@celebratorylight4916 OK, tnx
Instantly wish listed.
This is like meteor on Lsd with modern twist, looks like fun.
So Just Cause but 2d and in space.
obviously you never played Solar Jetman on NES

Something about dealing damage against his turd?
Is this a "Nintendo Virtual Boy" game or what?

"permadeath"
"Rogue like"
Isn't that a contradiction?
: Settles in to watch and see :
Not a contradiction, but a tautology.
I get trying to differentiate your game, but at some point these wacky graphic styles are just BAD
