@DownloadPizza Nah, when a spitfire prop hangs and rips your wing off from 1.5km below you while you're flying evasive. You're full of it. Especially with the terrible server performance meaning you get hit a lot when they don't even have guns on you.

@@jonwinfield9193 This is very true, I love watching TH-camrs pull off these amazing games but im almost 90% sure that every single TH-camr that post stuff like this had atleast 1 or 2 bad games trying to get the footage. Doesn't mean they are bad pilots IMO I think there is an element of luck in this game that is important.

I used to luv this plane at 4.7. At 5.0 it gets sucked up into too many 6.0 games so it's a hanger queen for me now.
Lmao no you should check it again, A8 is one of the best 5.0 rn cuz airspawn and overwhelming armaments. 3-4 guaranteed kills per game is obvious

Its decent at 5.0 flew it first time yesterday in air RB sadly i wasted the plane in GF RB years ago tho bad KD and kill per Mission rate, yes the airstart is a big advantage , had yesterday 1 loss for 15 Kills but i rate the 190F-8 as better then the A-8, the 2x20mm and 2x 13mm are enough to kill even heavy bombers in one pass, have now 18 Missions in F-8 with 32 airkills and only one loss best run was the first game in the F-8 with 4 Playerkills.
I fly both more defensive and tactical because iam not very good in manourve fights, i only fly solo but i think flying the A-8/F-8 in a squad with a good fightermix 109Gs , Dora-9 and/or Dora-13 for highcover is a big advantage, when i flew Spits MkVb/trop in a Clan for few weeks we engaged even 109F and G squads with altitude and speed advantage and shot em down, in a good clan your KD skyrockets.
But because i fly solo now i wished the A-8/F-8 would be on BR 4.7 in RB air, you cant survive in an A-8/F-8 against Tempest II, F2G-1, LF IX Spits ect. when your Noobteam is out because they did farm GT or airbots low level or going for the first red down low to the deck and you are alone vs 7-8 red fighters.
You cant even land and J out safe because often the Flak at airfield is drunk or stoned and didnt work proper.
This manipulated things pissed me on sometimes flak is deadly as hell and shoot down 2 or 3 reds in a half minute sometimes the Flak is inactive and enemy fighters strafe the field and farming Flaks with ease unpunished.

Watching people read energy in fights is what seperates the noobs from the pros, 90% of the fight is just energy state guessing.
I love it when my Fw 190 can hit transonic speeds in a dive.
I swear it's like watching myself play when he flies the 190s, though I don't take the a8 much honestly due to the recent f2g spam. Favorite playstyle getting into knife fights and reversals in the 190, people always underestimate a competently flown one.

F2G better climb rate ? That stupid thing does'nt care about gravity at all , like most high BR props . Climb up 1000m straight in the air and lose 150kph , the Ta152 models can do this also . That's just bullsh*t , other planes or jets lose 100kph if you make a roll . This is what makes air RB so hard , you need to know every plane . You can't rely on your knowing of physics , cause every plane no matter how big and heavy acts different or has fake stats .

Though my favorite is the Ta 152, all Focke-Wulfs hold a special place in my heart. I think they are the best planes to forge a good skill-set for Air RB, regardless of what BR you want to play. If all those low level Tier 6 premium buyers went through a couple months playing 190s before they skipped to Tier 6, they'd be a lot less useless. 190s are not bad planes, but IMO, they do require the pilot to be more careful with positioning and planning before engaging and are noticeably more unforgiving than most other planes once you fuck up...
Indeed, the roll rate, flaps and armament make it a great guns platform, but if you don't have altitude to dance or dive, reversal options are few, save for your evasion skills.
@Jaeger_89 I wouldn't recommend 190's to anyone trying to learn props simply because they have too much going for them aside from performance (roll rate, guns etc) and as a result their raw performance mostly ranges from very bad to average/below average for their BR. I'd say it's easier to fly planes that actually have competitive performance, not just good handling/guns. But for jet combat (especially top tier or near top tier), 190's do teach a few important lessons. First of all, they are mainly support fighters. Good at killing preoccupied enemies, but tend to crumble as soon as their team crumbles because they don't have raw performance for 1v1's (or even worse 1v2's). That's essentially the same at top tier, numerical advantage are much more important than in prop BR's. Secondly, let's face it 190A-8 loses to most 5.0's in literally every single performance metric (I mean just look at D-30 or D-28). And that's 5.0's, if you're uptiered you see F2G's, Tempests, La-9's, F4U-4B's, MG Bearcats etcetera. You're very often fighting an uphill battle, and while for prop BR's that's more of an anomaly (most good prop fighters have reasonable odds even in uptiers), with jet BR compression this becomes the new norm at rank 6-7. Again 190 teaches you how to approach these matchups where you're totally outperformed in such a way that you have at least some chances.
@@1rb1s_ He means to forge a good skill set, so you probably already mastered the basics. I agree with you that beginners should play planes with some form of decent performance metric up their sleeve. UK is good because the Spitfires turnfight and you can learn some semblance of energy fighting with Typhoons(but their turn gives them room for mistakes) and Tempests fully rely on energy tactics. Japan and Germany are also good choices, Russia with the MiG-3s and Yaks for beginners are pretty solid too.
But once you mastered the basics, I do find that putting yourself in a Fw-190 can force some extra effort as you have much less room for error. But Fw-190s are decent at defensive flying so it's still its one saving grace if you have the altitude to expend.
I'll add that I had to improve a lot on my shooting with Russian planes. The yak 3 has so little ammo you got to make it count. And yes, running the Doras I had to learn to be a lot more careful with position - and keeping speed up and do slashes.
The A8 is at a huge disadvantage, yes. The D13 works better, but its a brick so I play it almost like the 262. Get height, keep distance, hover over busy enemies, slash, get back out of the area while regaining energy.

I’m always in awe how badly people dogfight despite being lvl 100. You just don’t lose to a Fw-190A-8 unless in a head-on or being 3rd partied.

I have a love hate relationship with the Anton A8, I either get the dumbest matches at around 7-9 kills by just running down into zeroes and spitfires, or get the dogfights of my life or get shat on hard by the enemy, or skill issue into the ground when rolling below 1km of altitude.

this was mostly due to the need to intercept bombers. It didn't work out well when facing P-51s
My first Air RB plane was the 190 A4.. and since I'm about half as good as defyn (even though I started a couple years before him and have about 80 days in a fighter) the half number illustrates that perfectly.
Defyn would have about 140 days in a fighter.

A1 easily
A1 is one of the best planes in the game period, but the a5/u2 is the most fun by far. Can actually dogfight 80% of the planes you face and win consistently

I always find that the FW-190s do best in ground RB as ANTI CAS simple due to the fact you can reliabley dive on planes at high speed without locking up. Did that last game 5 kills with none of my victims seeing it coming

Just fly the typhoon mk1b/late, it also has 4x20mm, it's way faster and it's also very maneuverable, it's not as maneuverable as spitfires but you can still outdogfight a lot of planes.

I am learning so much from your commentary and gameplay. But some manoeuvres are nearly impossible, when you have a low level crew, what is common when you have low tier to mid tier aircraft, just like me for the most nations in game.
For Example: I have been playing C.205s lately. I have only a level 6 crew for this vehicle, because I haven’t got so much crew Exp. while grinding through the Italian tech tree. So while flying C.205 Serie 3, I have been losing a dozen of dog fights because of high G-forces that this low level Pilot could not withstand. This is highly frustrating.

That's likely not going to change that much to be honest. In Il-2 1946 they've got a FW-190 A-9 and it doesn't fly much better than the A-8.

I would love to play the game normally, but I can’t because I play on console and I don’t the money to get a pc, it’s insanely difficult to play Warthunder especially in air battles where it’s basically a completely game compared to ground battles, it would take me months of constant grind to manage to play the game at a decent skill level

this and the F-8 are my favorite Focke-Wulfs, I can just ditch half of my braincells, kill 2~3 guys in a head on, zoom out, then re-engage.
The F-8 without bombs also has tiny bit more performance than the A-8 because it is lighter without the 2 extra guns

Btw you were the one to give the ok sign if i-185 is good enough to study/grind (on adam514 dc group, years ago) yet you dont have a relevant guide to it and it was hell because there isnt enough i-185 scenario on internet for my stupid brain.
I love that plane right now for summer/winter event (teammate die faster so i find lots of bullet helps win the game, also steep climbing). I still wish you make a video about it though, for comparison.

Old Veteran of warthunder here and only come back for fome tiger GB and fw190 fights. I love the plane, takes a few matches to get the guns on target but it's just so satisfying to use roll and energy to get kills.

Do you have any reccomendations for games where your team dies really early. With the summer event early i find a lot of people suiciding to bomb to get points (In jets 9.0-9.7) and im at a loss what to do when half the team dies and its an enemy furball vs whatever is left on your team
Im struggling to even get one kill with 3 enemies rushing you whenever you are spotted
Why are fw 190s so helpless in war thunder but in war documentaries it's claimed to have been one of the best planes in WW2 and superior to bf 109s and early to mid spitfires
First: War Thunder is closer to Eastern front's conditions, where acceleration reigns supreme.
IRL most soviet pilots considered 109 to be a harder opponent than a 190.
Second: 190 dominated over 109 in pilot comfort/safety (surely) and maximum speed at low altitude (questionable), in climb, turn and acceleration it wasn't any better, on par at best.
Third: it dominated over Spitfire marks up to V, although it lasted for almost a year. That is considering the reality of the Western front, where distances and altitudes were bigger, and 190s had the time to get into a favourable position. Then IX appeared, and the rest is history.
Honestly speaking, air-spawn A-8 is as close as you can get to a "historical" 190 conditions, because you get a bit more energy to work with.

If you know your plane and keep using its main strength or pros its going to be competitive against majority opponents you're going to face
It just that the late variant like this A8 that had heavier armament and extra armor that meant to withstand bomber gunner fire and enough firepower to take it down (when your plane had more cannon than mg) really affecting its performance
You should just stay at A4 and A5 if you want to focus on enemy fighter
Also IRL, BMW 801 powered Fw 190 Anton is struggling at high altitude in the western front while in eastern front they commonly used as fighter bomber, hence why soviet claim its not really a threat to them (also big contribution the fact that soviet fighters perform the best at low altitude)
The greatest thing the Fw 190 though is its potential airframe, as its airframe is capable accepting further upgrade that came later in war such as:
Able to use Junker Jumo 213 engine resulting the infamous D the "Dora" that finally solve Fw 190 high altitude issue
Able to use large DB603 that unfortunately used on wasted Me 210 and 410,although this is only used for experiment (Fw 190 C we have in game) it just prove how great the airframe in accepting more powerful engine
And finally some tweak on its wing and Junkers Jumo engine resulting Ta-152 high altitude interceptor
(Almost forget that one of the Ta-152 we have in game is powered by DB603)
The A-8 is pretty decent. It's not the best Anton, but it's not the worst either

Just wondering what does vertical targeting mean?
I know it's been seven months, but what it does is angle your guns up so that at a specific range that you set, the bullets land exactly where you aim. Sort of like gun convergence.

I hate this plane so much. I bought the US version to use as a "flying stupid" plane but I ended up getting over a 3:1 K/D with it and now I have to fly it seriously at all times, I also hate how it flys/fights. Should have bought the Spitfire.......9/10 the A8 is great if you only play it when and where it's at an advantage and they look SO nice. The firepower is also excessive.
