    I actually think the dialogue at the beginning made it seem far more realistic. The casual chat between work colleagues which doesn't sound at all like voice acting - praise to the devs on this one, it's insanely creepy and well constructed.

      That’s the same thing I was thinking. Like if they were at my job and someone said “nah they don’t really talk that bad or unenthusiastic.” Well, it’s actually worse. 😂 so I completely agree.

      Why do you discuss the dialogue in the beginning? It's as realistic as it could be. It's not "just chatting", it's what everyone would sound like in real situation. Doesn't need so much explanation and discussion

    Now THIS is a backrooms game that feels completely accurate. The uneasiness of how quiet everything is, the many many ways to get lost and abundance of rooms that lead elsewhere. The queasy feeling that you aren't alone, even though you haven't seen proof otherwise. Love!

    The back rooms are a place you inherently feel that people should be there, but are not.
    Their absence bags your absence...
    Running feels like the thing to do, yet you don't see any immediate threats anywhere around you.
    It's like the old saying that you're more comfortable knowing where the bee is, seeing it, right there, rather than just hearing a bee somewhere in the room. You're just unable to find it. You keep looking, you keep looking. It's like you hear the bee somewhere, everywhere in the back rooms but you can't see it.

  • @s8nction

    • @CaptainBeebi
      @CaptainBeebi 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Probably a spoiler, but there is a monster in this game. The Librarian found it in their playthrough, and there's screenshots of it on the Steam page.
      My assumption from what other people have said about their experiences is that the monster either doesn't always spawn, or you have to go out of your way to investigate noises and disturbances in order to encounter it.

    • @s8nction
      @s8nction 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @CaptainBeebi either way. One monster that's not s guarantee on a playthrough is still great. Most of these backrooms games consistently have you running from monsters left and right. Having one that isn't a guarantee does create a sense of being followed which the backrooms has.

      I second this. And while it makes sense to me that I've had dreams of spaces that look like this, I grew up in the 80s and 90s. The dev of this game is only 18 and he has said that he's used his dreams for inspiration as well, which begs the question. Why is an 18 year old dreaming of places he's unlikely to have ever seen? Makes you wonder if there is another part of reality that looks like this.

    This is such a phenomenal game, if you could even call it that. Its more like an experience, experiencing someone's awful dream where every play through can be unique. For years, I've had dreams with a recurring theme. I'm in very clean but antiquated spaces a la late 1970s with very similar looks and layouts to this. I always feel lonely but not alone, as if there's a presence permeating every inch of the place, and it's not a nice one. I can never seem to find my way out, and the farther into the place I get, the more lost and hopeless I become. This video and the fact that this "game" exists gave me a deep sense of unease. Thank you for sharing it. It's been an interesting experience.

    I personally think that kid sections in stuff like this are scary because, in our minds, children are supposed to be safe and excluded from the hardships of life in an ideal world, but seeing something like a kids section in a horror related experience challenges our perception of how life should be, and coldly reminds us that true evil holds no regard for the innocence of a child. In fact, malicious entities will often use that same illusion of innocence and safety to lure its victims into a false sense of security. I could be wrong, but it makes sense to me anyways lol.

    The number of people commenting that this reminds them of the dreams they've had, which was the immediate response I had when I played this, coupled with the fact that the developer was only 18 years old makes me wonder. Why would an 18 year old have the frame of reference for places like this, which were almost totally gone by the early 00s? I sometimes question whether or not the dreams we have are really from a shared dimension that exists, which we're all simply accessing during our dreams as opposed to them merely being recreations of our mind.

    The amount of effort and details in this game i really thought this was one of them reaction vids until i seen him actually play. I mean the details the environments it's just like the real one. The makers really need a raise for this.

    This is a game all about that eerie, undescribable anxt you get when your at a hotel and it's like 3-4AM and you have to leave your room for something. The hallways seem to keep going and it's completely silent and any other night you probably wouldn't notice but you have this frightening sorta "Holy shit I think someone's following me"feeling hit you so hard and your chest is instantly pounding...or maybe I'm just weird, im totally ooen to that too.

    now this is is legit "realistic horror game" from voice acting to floor sounds...all horror or fps games ive heard them running like crap, but this one's incredible, , and when the character runs, it's true that the sound is scarily realistic, every kind of floor the char.walks/runs it changes sounds... i cant watch this kind of game without his commentary (not all commentaries per games i hate to watch) ..

    These games definitely show a dark scary fear that humans have, being alone and in a place totally separate from any and all things normal. These games remind me of dreams I have and familiar feelings. I want a PC just to play these and maybe even come up with a concept from these types of innate fears humans have

    • @M_reapr
      @M_reapr ปีที่แล้ว

      What makes it truly scary is that your always in a transitional space there are many different spaces both for going to places and destinations and the majority of life takes place in destinations so the sole fact that the backrooms is only transitional spaces is extremely psychologically terrifying

    To me in such kind of games like Backrooms you shouldn`t be curious, but strategic. I wouldn't return to the lower levels, but stayed in the higher level, because it`s where you came from.

    In the pool area. Let’s give credit to those tile guys.
    That’s A LOT of tiles to perfectly place, grout, and clean.
    It’s maddening how many tiles I seen.
    (I know it’s a game, but could you imagine??)

    A note on the graphics: This game doesn't seem like the noise/VHS filter is really covering up that much unrealistic details. Also so cool that they so accurately recreated Kane Pixels backrooms.
