Okey, so I’ve been thinking about the meaning of things in this game and I don’t think he was abusive. From the start the one thing was very clear - they have a mold issue. Long exposure to black mold in extreme cases of allergy can alter your mental state (mood swings, sleep and memory problems etc), that would explein her forgetting the keys and the ring, getting annoyed by the books, loosing her temper. I have a feeling she hung herself (the shadow from the bedroom and cracked neck of the mold lady) but it might be a stretch. Anyway, what’s important - the date on the overdue letter from the funeral services is 26th July 1983!!! She died around 3 years ago! I think what happened is, because ‘we will be the ones that never leave’, he stayed in the apartment and after years of exposure, the black mold finally caught up to him - hence him forgetting to go to work, paying rent, even forgetting she’s dead, bottles of sleeping pills next to bed, tissues everywhere. The stain is there when we enter for the first time and his mental state keeps getting worse and worse with every round we make, the mold keeps spreading everywhere. The tempered cassette is from 1981, he keeps replaying them to hear her voice. And then the end, the day of the anniversary he’s lost it complete.
This is the only theory in the whole comment section that makes sense, explain a lot of things and It helped me to understand the ending. The only thing I was pretty sure is that the guy wasn't abusive with her, I don't know why Hollow thought that, people can't fight once in a while, life is not perfect and no one has the perfect family. If we see that a guy is having a discussion with his wife, we can't say that he is abusive or that he will kill her, that is pretty extreme, haha.
The dev should think better how he makes a game, because is pretty good, but I'm pretty sure that most of the people didn't understood the story or what happened with that ending.
And I'm interested in know how many years have Hollow living in USA, because is kind of intriguing that a lot of times he don't know how a word is pronuounced or what meaning have. My english is really bad in comparison with him, but most of the time I know the meaning of some words when he doesn't.

@@JackMee-hOFF-Jr. I had been sleeping on a bed with black mold inside of it for months without knowing when I was younger. I got super sick, my nose was bleeding everyday, I was choking on my cough every night to the point I couldn’t breathe. No one knew what’s wrong with me. Don’t remember how I was doing mentally, probably not well, but not to the point the game portrayed. I think they obviously latched on to the extreme for story reasons.
It's like Hollow is literally being summoned whenever a psychological horror game comes out 😂

I absolutely loved how this wasn't some heavy horror, but instead, deep grief, pain, and love. Good job to everybody who participated in the making of this game. Very touching and meaningful.

At first round you're supposed to be celebrating your 4 year anniversary in 1986, but towards the end when you pick up the bill for the funeral home it's dated 1983, so she had already been dead for a while.

I also like how they nailed the vibe of the 80's. Green counters in the kitchen or the entertainment center. That was bid in the 80's and 90's with the TV in the center with bookcases on each side.

Like, I totally get that other creators get numb to it all and havta put on an act so to speak, but the over the top *constant* screaming and yelling at the game over the smallest things and ear raking just gets old and takes away from the actual scares imo. Ive been subbed to you since you used to do call of duty videos, i wanna say you weren't even at million subs at the point. And i fondly remember when you started playing Rainbow six siege and i have to say its great to see youre still the same person! A bit less hyper but still the same great person who enjoys video games!
I think she hurt herself because she was feeling trapped and smothered? And he couldn't live with that or let her go because he was obsessive. That's just my interpretation.
I will say that I don’t think the husband is guilty of killing his wife, I think when his wife did die he couldn’t let go of her and maybe at the end he was trying to summon her back from the dead or maybe he did and that’s why her ghost was haunting him? I think since PT release people always seem to blame the main character cause that’s what has been the plot but I think for this one because he couldn’t let go he put himself in this weird repeating cycle, I don’t know why he would kill her to eventually bring her back. I think maybe they fought, the husband left to get fresh air and he came back to her dead in the bathroom, which is why the streak across the floor? It’s hard telling lol
