In the story it said that the time in the Winchester house flows differently. Although the main character returned to the house to save his daughter, he didn't realize that by the time be returned many decades have passed and the house is in shambles, his family died a long time ago, and it is modern times. He has become one of the undead.

9:17 This is absolutely my favorite jumpscare in this whole game, because it's almost not scary. It's funny, and a little bit cheeky. Basically, the creature smacks you on the ass as you walk past, and I find that hilarious.

This is based on the real Winchester House which was built by the proprietress and has paranormal activity and strange rooms, stairs leading to nothing but a wall, and doors opening to a brick wall and not a room. It is now a famous museum.

Winchester mansion is an actual building. While Winchester's wife was alive they kept working on the mansion as she experienced "paranormal things" and was believed to be cursed. The mansion had doors and hallways leading to dead ends and fake doors so that the "ghosts" can get confused in the maze mansion. The house was 24,000 square feet

If this takes place in the Winchester mansion like I think it does that’s such a good idea. Look up the history for that mansion, mrs. Winchester literally built rooms for the spirits, and the layout was insane I guess
I thought about that but the famous winchester mansion is in California (I believe) and the story for building it its different than the game. I also thought that maybe it could be based on Supernatural and the winchester brothers. Or maybe they just chose it at random, who knows.
