Thanks so much for stopping by to help me choose my next cast on! Here's the list of potential projects, please let me know which one is your favourite: 1. Sveaborg Pullover by Sari Nordlund 2. Pearson Cardigan by Julie Hoover 3. Roman Villa Shawl by Caroline Sommerfeld 4. Lunenburg Pullover by Amy Christoffers 5. Smokeshow Vest by Thea Colman The links to the Ravelry pages for these designs are in the description notes above, if you want to check them out 😊 See you in the Maker's Lounge!
I discovered Tunisian crochet about 6-9 months ago, and I love the look of the Tunisian Simple Stitch. It reminds me of what I've always called waffle weave. I've made a jacket, and a blanket in it. The only problem is that my left hand doesn't really like me doing as much of that as I do of knitting. It's taking my hand some time to recover from my becoming obsessed.
I like to mark mistakes I make, even when I have fixed them, just in case I find out I didn't fix it the way it should. That way if I get out a ways and start thinking it looks odd, I can find if it is where I fixed it or something else I have done.
I left a comment on the last video about this sweater. I didn't think about upping the needle size! 😁 I purchased the pattern on Ravelry and then perused it to se how much yarn I needed for my size. wah, wah Now I can order yarn!!! OK, this is an edit. I also purchased the Smokeshow vest, and I think I will make that for myself. I forgot I have a cardigan I have to knit for Hub. I will save the Sampler for this winter.
loved this episode. I went to PEI and Lunenberg in August of 2023 and I also enjoyed Fleece and Harmony and The mariners daughter - and bought the kit for the Lunenberg Pullover. I have been watching the Fleece and Harmony podcast for 4ish years and love Kim and crew. Well done Nicole - see you at the next WCKG
Have you started your Lunenberg yet? I'm trying to figure out how to fit mine into active rotation this fall. I have too many projects that I want to do right now!!! (what else is new? lol)
Ah yes, I do want to make a tutorial on how convert triangles to rectangles and this would be a great example project for that. Hmmm...if this doesn't make it to the top, it may have to follow shortly after 😉
How exciting about your Lantern Moon Tunesian crochet set. You probably already know this but jump approx 3 hook sizes higher for a more drapery garment.
Thanks! I have been advised to go up at least a couple sizes. I'm a bit ashamed to say that I haven't put this set into action yet. I need a first project pattern to show itself! 😋
Very happy to have found your channel - thank you, TH-cam! I have never seen anyone talk about or show their Library Blanket - I have wanted to knit that since it first came out early in the pandemic - I even have the pattern printed out - but it looked too complicated. Now that I've seen yours, I'm going to do it!!
Hey, Neighbour! I'm coming to Alberta next month for the Wool and Wine tour hosted by River City Yarns in Edmonton. Jasper is one of my and my handsome man's favorite places :D
I'm planning to start the Lunenberg about mid-summer, so I'll have it for fall next year. My Roman Villa turned out beautifully. If you watch my second wearable shawl video, you'll see it in all its glory!
Im so absolutely thrilled that you have made this silk sweater. On impulse a few months ago it bought this yarn with not any idea what to make…..you are my saviour!!!!!! We are currently going into winter here in Australia however come the spring I now know what is going on my needles. I have bought the pattern and an extra cone of white to do the stripes….oh and my main colour silk is the exactly same colour as yours however I only have three cones…im wondering if I should bite the bullet and buy a fourth cone of main colour just in case I can no longer source it here in Aussie.
I tried the running markers, but found that I forgot to move them because they were hanging on the inside of my fabric. I've gone back to my chain type row counter. That works for me because you have to deal with it when you come to it, just like a stitch marker. And, it allows me to count up to 99 rows before I have to start over again. Sorry about that. I know - we all have our quirks.
No worries! I'm just glad you have a method that works for you! I've never tried those chain counters. I'll have to check them out (out of curiosity, because I'm never giving up my running markers 😘)
I’ve been watching many of your videos this week - totally out of order (normal for chaotic me). I watched one where you were discussing process over project knitting and how much the excitement of choosing and starting a new project, is your jam (do you say that in Canada? 😊). Anyway, thinking about your promise to finish all your WIPs I realised that it must have been a huge mental challenge for you, and what a relief it must have been when you could finally cast on a new project.
OMGOSH ! The sweater hoodie for your granddaughter is gorgeous ! I haven't knit anything like that yet but I would LOVE to knit it for my 2 youngest granddaughters ! I'll have to go put it in my cart, and get it soon. I know I can't do a beautiful job like you have but I'll give it my best !!
Love mosaic knitting. Only been knitting 6 or 7 yrs and mostly learned socks, cowls, shawls. Hade to make the Pressed Flowers Shawl. It was not only new for me to do mosaic which is easy but my first chart. Took a bit to figure out the beginning but once I got it was so much fun. Need to find a new project to do like it. Maybe you have some suggestions in your episode on it. Thanks, Judy
Hi! I'm a life long crocheter and I've been knitting for a couple of years now. Just love it ! Just found you this morning so I've watched acouple of your videos. It's funny you brought up bugsbunny. My siblings are I loved watching them every Saturday. I loved Marvin the Martian. I'm the oldest so my siblings loved that I could mimick Marvin. If you'd be interested, I'm thinking about trying to do it at the end of my next video, which I'm planning to do today. I haven't done him for awhile but I'll try. I really enjoyed your videos I watched today and I'm looking forward to seeing more ! See you next time !!
The more of your videos I watch, the more impressed I am! I always learn something - and I've been knitting for at least 65 years! I'm super curious as to how you can make all these items in the time that you do, and you have a day job! Do you ever sleep??
Ha ha! I do sleep enough (I think…lol) The key is that I take my knitting EVERYWHERE with me. I’ve even started knitting on walks to make sure I’m getting enough exercise 😋
I love your martini glasses.. My husband is a dry martini drinker. We actually have the same glasses you have in other episodes and the matching wine glasses. So beautiful. BTW, I do love your Isabel Kramer sweater. It's absolutely gorgeous and so glad you finished it.
Congratulations on 1000 subscribers! Woo hoo🍸🍸🍸I vote for the smoke show vest. I knit my granddaughter an unbearable hoodie and she wears it everyday! Thankyou for the knitfluence. It makes me happy to see her wear it. 🐻🐻🐻
I really enjoy your channel! (What is a “husband equivalent”?-never heard that term.). Yours is the first knitting channel I have really stuck with. Learning a lot, liking your style. Thank you,
I was just thinking before you opened the “crochet cordial” segment, if you’d ever done Tunisian crochet!!! There you go. The only thing I don’t like about it is the curling. Soooo….. I’m wondering…. If we could do our “combining knitting with crochet” trick with this??? 🤔🤔

I’ve done the Pressed Flowers Hat! It is a super fun color work design. I will definitely have more mosaic project ideas for you when I do the tutorial 😊

There are so many great designs to knit and NEVER enough time! I need to learn how to knit while I sleep 😂
Great episode, as usual! Love the light sweater you are wearing. ❤
KnitPicks has a wonderful "Hue Shift" afghan that is modular mitered squares. Comes in a kit, so super easy garter stitch.
Knit Picks has some fantastic kits!

Great episode ! ❤
The smoke show looks like the one you would be most excited to knit so that gets my vote
Thank you! That’s so kind ❤
The Roman Villa Shawl! I would love to know how to do the modifications to knit the rectangle and make a shawl. Brilliant!
Ah yes, I do want to make a tutorial on how convert triangles to rectangles and this would be a great example project for that. Hmmm...if this doesn't make it to the top, it may have to follow shortly after 😉
I would love to see how you make the armhole, and modify the shape as well!
Yes. The Smokeshow. I really like Thea Coleman patterns too.
She's amazing, isn't she?
I love all of Isabelle Kraemers patterns, they are well-written easy to understand, top-down, your sweater turned out so cute !
Not my circus not my monkeys, lol that!
😋
Smokeskow vest from Thea Colman, without any hésitation.😊
Good call - that’s the one I did 😁

That’s fantastic! You’re going to love it. If you need any help, you know where to find me 😊
The Smokeshow. I can tell it will bring you joy!
Hooray! You are my new best friend 😘
Hello Neighbour. I live in Alberta lol. I visit my best friend in BC and agree with you, I love BC too.
I love Goats on the Roof too.
Hey, Neighbour! I'm coming to Alberta next month for the Wool and Wine tour hosted by River City Yarns in Edmonton. Jasper is one of my and my handsome man's favorite places :D
All I can say is Roman Villa! Wow a showstopper! But…you should do the Lunenberg sweater…the story behind it…you just need to knit that memory first.
I'm planning to start the Lunenberg about mid-summer, so I'll have it for fall next year. My Roman Villa turned out beautifully. If you watch my second wearable shawl video, you'll see it in all its glory!

That’s so cool! I’m pretty sure I have at least a whole cone left over in the teal. It never hurts to have a backup, though! 😋
Years ago, Tunisian crochet was called afghan stitch when I first became aware of it.
Interesting!
Thank you for sharing! I appreciate you.
And to answer your question it’s a forward pass and a return pass in Tunisian crochet 😉
Thank you! I’m such a crochet neophyte 😋🤣
I agree you seem the most excited about smokeshow.
Thank you, new best friend #2! 😁

I say it's my jam all the time! It absolutely was a HUGE challenge and I was thrilled to cast on that new project 😃
I love this channel !
Thank you!!! 💖

Thank you! Just take your time with the colorwork and give it your best shot. It's sooo cute, imperfections won't affect the wow factor.
Great video as always ! I hope you cast on smokeshow 🥰
Thank you! 😊
Exciting. I will be done tonight. yay! And I will expect you to offer any tips on creating a t-shirt with our remaining yarn.
Hooray!! Yes, we’ll find a cute tee for the leftovers 😁❤️😘

Thank you! I know you were an early one of those 1,000. Thanks for being here ❤️🥰
The smoke show would be wonderful
Yay! 😁
I really enjoy your channel! (What is a “husband equivalent”?-never heard that term.). Yours is the first knitting channel I have really stuck with. Learning a lot, liking your style. Thank you,
Thank you for watching! Husband equivalent is just my cheeky way of saying spouse. We’ve been together for close to 20 years 😊
I was just thinking before you opened the “crochet cordial” segment, if you’d ever done Tunisian crochet!!!
There you go.
The only thing I don’t like about it is the curling. Soooo….. I’m wondering…. If we could do our “combining knitting with crochet” trick with this??? 🤔🤔
Oooo….that’s intriguing 🤔😊
The curl can be reduced or removed by going up needle sizes 😊
@@MoveWithPon Thanks, Ponnie! ❤️
TL Yarn Crafts has some wonderful UTube videos on Tunisian crochet
Manx Loaghtan sheep are a rare, primitive breed, most similar to the sheep our bronze age ancestors would have been raising for their wool clothing.
Love this! Thank you 🙏🏼 🥰
Biennial, not semi-annual, which is twice a year.
Oh goodness! I didn’t! I know better - how embarrassing 😳
Not my circus, not my monkeys.
I vote smokeshow. Indeed I think I want to MAKE smokeshow.
Yay! Let me know if you do make it 😊
Sewing!?! Teach me…..
Ha ha! That might have to be a different channel...
Roman Villa would be a nice break from all the sweaters you have on your needles.
It’s true. 😊
Forward pass, return pass.
