We have such humid summers in Minnesota that most moisturizers are way too thick and end up feeling greasy or gross when it is so hot and humid. I love gel moisturizers for that!
Me too Sarah, once I discovered gel moisturizers it was love at first feel then including them in my regimen it was love forever and never going back! 😆
I love the Cerave PM and this sounds similar to that. I’ll have to check if we have it in the UK yet. I only wish cerave were cruelty free. I like their stuff but haven’t bought any for ages because of it. Great video Sarah. Thank you ❤
CeraVe changed something in their formulas. I used to love their hydrating cleanser and the cream, but both burn my skin now. My skin is sensitive but not that sensitive

The hydrating cleanser started to do that to me, mainly around my eyelids for some reason 🤷🏼 never used to bother me but then out of nowhere my eyelids started to sting when I washed my face. I’ve stopped using it now. Been using Alpha-H balancing cleanser , more expensive but gentle and doesn’t sting.
This was soooooo light for me having combo-oily skin when it dried down it was like there was nothing there so for me this was more of a serum than moisturizer ❤. I use drunk elephant F Balm on the regular and this gel lotion is NOTHING like it besides the ceramide’s cholesterol and fatty acids period. That fbalm is soo much heavier but I get the comparison.
I was shocked to see it pop up as a dupe to this, but you are right, it is 100 times more hydrating than this. I went through so many bottles of that one, and I think I still have one left in storage I'll have to finish up this winter before it goes bad.

I hear you- there have been so many winters where my face has been screaming for moisture! I'm working on a video of the thickest creams for dry cold weather, hope to have that one done by Sunday. I've found adding in a good essence can really help. The Jin Jung Sung Soothing Moisture Essence is wonderful- and you can add this into your routine without having to change anything else if you don't want to. Very hydrating and soothing, highly recommend. Do you use any oils at night? Sometimes adding a couple drops of rosehip oil to my nighttime cream also helps a ton when my face it super dry. And one more thought- have you ever tried the Stratia Skin Liquid Gold? That one is super hydrating for when my skin gets very dry.

Definitely perfect timing for this! I thought for sure I had done a video on this recently, but you are right, I hadn't finished it so good call! Will work on it for this weekend's video. I agree, the Illiyoon is great but a bit light for me for winter time when everything gets really cold and dry.

Just my opinion, although I do fully understand the need for affordable, effective and easily accessible products.

Thank you, was waiting for this review but still on the fence. For day I use PTR water drench and it’s quite nice. How does this measure up against that one?
The textures are similar, however, I am much more impressed with the ingredient list of the PTR- it contains some nice skin identical ingredients but it also contains some nice ferments as well. I also think the finish of the PTR is a bit softer and has some nice brightening and blurring benefits that the cerave does not have.

Even though I have dry skin, I much prefer a light weight moisturiser for the day ( especially here in Australia at the moment!). I love geek and gorgeous hydration station! Before that Cereve pm was my basic go to that I enjoy.
This one is a bit lighter in texture to the cerave pm. This one has a straight up gel texture while the Cerave Pm is more of a lotion texture. In terms of actual beneficial ingredients, they are very similar - niacinamide, ceramides, hyaluronic acid, dimethicone. The PM Lotion is just a bit more on the hydrating side so if you have drier skin I think I'd use the PM. For oilier skin I'd go with the new gel.
Don't know that we *ever* get the full range of CeraVe in the uk ,so I wonder if we'll get this (my face didn't like their cleansers - looked and felt like I'd been boiled in oil 😊 , so I've just avoided them since then ,but I'm desperate for a good,light, everyday moisturiser for winter) .

Cerave does pretty well financially- I cannot even imagine how much more they would make if they were cruelty free!

Have you noticed any difference between this and the cerave pm moisturizing lotion? They seem very similar..

I like 2 of the cleansers but that's it for me. I just think CeraVe is over priced.

I'm using la roche posay double repair matte moisturizer. Does it feel like that?
I would say yes- the texture of both of those is quite similar- I should do a versus of the two!
