I have shopped and donated to Goodwill for years. I was also surprised at the prices UNTIL I started working for Goodwill helping people find jobs. The career preparation tools and resources that Goodwill provides job seekers makes up for the prices. Not only are you supporting an organization that cares about bettering people’s lives while also supporting the community people live in. When you are looking for a job and cannot find one until you have people backing you up, being supportive, and assisting your career journey. I was a job seeker that became a career coach. I support Goodwill by donating more and shopping more. And this is MY experience not hearsay.
Thank-you SO much for sharing this! I know several people who were helped by Goodwill and Salvation Army to secure a job and even move on to seek advanced employment. Good for you! All the best!

Wow! You are so lucky to have such a well organized thrift shop, here in Québec there are not so much treasures so cheap. You have good taste and made a great haul, as for the guess over or under 100$, I thought it's more like 200$, to be honest when you asked you weren't finish shopping, but it must of been pretty close. The Murano glass set was my absolute favourite, wich of course is already sold!

Our GW just had a Re Grand Opening the other day. There was a small fire a few months ago. I didn't go 6 I couldn't deal with the crowds and I am glad I made that decision, I spoke to a guy who was there and said he got there early and was I forget what nu.bet but it was in the 200's! It was all over the news and people came from all over!

That plate and shade was a good item. You take a lid off a candle. That shade sits on top of the candle, which sits on the plate.

Just discovered your channel. I watch several different reseller channels. I enjoy your sweetness and we have very similar likes. I'm 69 and have shopped secondhand my whole life. Rarely buy new. I will check out your shop once I find it. Prices at GW here in Central Illinois/Indiana are very high. I prefer Habitat For Humanity and church-run thrift shops. God bless you and your husband.

Do you have any Assistance League thrift stores in your area? They are more like Grandma's thrift store, and I really enjoy that too. I agree, some of the modernizations of Goodwill are unbecoming...like the Target clearance items taking up shelf space instead of donated goods!

They were indeed piggy cookie jars, and it pained me, but they were big and fragile and so difficult to ship. It hurt, though. They were SO cute!

Yep Goodwill prices higher than all other thrifts and everything donated
I am happy to report that the prices seem to be pretty good here. I know GW's can be hit and miss, and we've all seen some crazy pricing for sure. My advice, keep checking back, and share your thoughts with the store managers. They are usually very receptive to feedback. I have a follow up video coming out soon to share. The Goodwill in my area starts at 25% off 50% off and then 75% off and you can hardly get anything at 75% off because as soon as the store opens, they start pulling it from the shelves

TIP.. If you can’t find a cart available at a thrift store, go to the basket area first and find a big basket to put your stuff in when you are ready to check out if you don’t want to buy the basket just let the cashier know you changed your mind on the basket😉

The prices were pretty good, but we will see for how long! I know some stores have very high "pricers" a little too happy with their tags!
They do hire disabled people also which is good. Yes they have some questionable practices which is not fair and the CEO,S make to much Money but they do,do some good for the community..I donate to smaller thrift shops that help our community..exspecially those that help our women and children..
No longer donate to Goodwill or shop there. They were reselling brand new items from Target for over the regular prices.
I've never seen a good price on their Target items, and I'm surprised they sometimes take up a whole isle or two. Not really what us thrifters want to see, unless it's a deep discount! I also don't like their checkout areas, full of overpriced "new" items, like dollar store quality. But, there are still great treasures to be found! Have a wonderful weekend!

People that shop Goodwill people that have been shopping there for years! We were faithful. Now where I live they started at 5.00 and up. We the elderly , can not afford those prices. Goodwill you are hurting a lot of people. I am embarrassed for you. I hope you will learn a hard lesson. When you get too big for your britches you will see what happens.
They would sell a lot more, keeping the prices low!! Some stores seem to find that pain point...where you want it, but the price hurts!!
