Very interesting what you're saying about LAN cable. It wasn't only my PS5 that blew. Actually, everything connected to my Bell Fibe router blew (My TV, An Nvidia Shield TV box, and my PS5). Nothing else in my home was effected. It's like the router and being connected to decides by LAN cable through my router is what caused the damage..
So basically, replacing the PSU and faulty HDMI port fixed this PS5. Any tips on where to look when the HDMI port isn't the problem and replacing the PSU didn't restore power? Any help/suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Tks for another great video.
Your prices are really good. All the repair shops around me are ridiculous. They want 200 plus For HDMI And a $75. Bench fee just to look at it ps5 hdmi is close to 300 Luckily I found a small shop Around me with good prices so I take everything to him.
... Excellent run through the hdmi resistance tests. clever testing routine. Assume using reversed leads tests the protection diodes and looks for blown driver output

So I have my first ps5 that was hit by lightning strike. I repaired the psu so now it boots in safe mode and white light but no image. I replaced the hdmi encoder and now I have the 5v on hdmi but on pin 13 it says OL, any ideas where should I look? Thank you.
That cat and I have something in common. Also, maybe there would be less PS5 repair videos if less PS5s needed repair. 🤷♂ Although do so many PS5s need repairs because so many more PS5s sell? Maybe compared to Xbox Series X, but Switch sells even more than PS5 and there aren't nearly as many Switches on the bench. 🤔
Same for me. I’m typically quite mechanically sympathetic and usually don’t put enough force into things. I was surprised how easily it scuffed. I’m not bothered by it though. Out of sight, out of mind!
Question, I believe the PS5 paper work states that it be plugged directly into an outlet. To not have anything in between the power circuit. Like an extension cord. But I like to have a little added insurance for my expensive electronics. So is it ok to use a UPS device? "power backup/surge protector".?
Bro you don’t know much about stuff , the lan port always does that at first after software update …ain’t nothing wrong with it , you can’t change from wi fi to lan while updating lol

I own a PC, PS5 and SX..... The FIRST thing i did, was buy a Surge protected UPS, for this very reason.
