I make lots of templates out of freezer paper. It has the water resistant side that holds it on the slab nicely while I cut the shape out. I have reused one template many times.
Jamie you can also use plates from your kitchen. I have sold heaps of these from using my kitchen plates and bowls. Also check out Jessica Putnam-Phillips videos on creating fancy shapes as she also loves cutting up paper folded into shapes. I also use cardboard from old boxes as a template. The pieces do like nice and you could always add a fancy edge to them.
2 questions. What cone and type of clay do you use... do you ever have problems with the clay no releasing from the stamp (what do you do)? I love your videos!!
Thank you Jamie for this video very interesting.
Thanks Jamie! I love this technique.
I loved your ceramic stamps collections. Show... beautiful peaces! Congratulacions.
Lovethem!
Thanks for the video 😊
Did you make the plaster texture rollers? If not, where did you find them? If so, how did you make them?
I made them. Look for my plaster roller video.
@@jamiemeador2967 Thank you!
Thank you for these ideas!! Do you have a video of how you make your forms out of plaster!
I was once filmed pouring plaster at a guild event. Look for my name and OVCAG and it should come up on TH-cam

I'll try it out... thanks
The set of molds can be purchased via Etsy: www.etsy.com/listing/188482993/set-of-three-plaster-molds-plus?
Right on, jamie--from mgt
Excellent work
Plastic place mats or cutting mats make excellent template material. Art foam does too.
Thanks, appreciated a lot.

Thanks for watching. I use cone 10 clay bodies. I use corn starch mainly; sometimes spray cooking oils or wd40.

They are just boards and can be wood or drywall or backer boards,
Yes, most building supply places will have them in large quantities.
