    I can NOT wait to make some of these!! They are just soo fun! I would definitely need a bigger bottom to make it more stable but I’m not sure how to do that.

    I made these molds. Some come from "Bonny Bowls" set and others from giant Easter egg sets. ;-) I use Pottery Plaster #1 from USG.

    Jamie, where are you now? Are you still working in pottery? If so, can we see some more of your amazing lessons?

      I am still here. I manage a pottery studio plus was in a few shows this past fall. I have a couple more videos up my sleeve. :-) You can see more recent work at my Facebook page JamieMeadorDesigns or on Instagram Jmee7. I also got a new camera so I'm figuring that out. Happy 2022!

    Have you thought of putting a couple holes in your mold to release the suction when removing the clay from it? You would really have to squish it down for the clay to go into them, and if it made a small mark, it could easily be rubbed smooth.

    Hi Jamie greeting from Ireland loved the demonstration.
    The colour you added to the bolds is it glaze that needs to be fired in a kilm
    Or acrylic paint with a high gloss finish.
    Thank you

      Hi Jainie
      Is this air dry clay? (I only ask because your video came up in a search for that specific term) Also could you use acrylic paint to color it and a high gloss or satin spray to finish this clay once dry?

    Hi Jamie, thank you very much for your videos. They’re very helpful and inspirational to beginners like me. I would like to ask why do you pack the bowl in plastic foil for 24 hours before you let it dry. It’s not clear to me what are the benefits.

      Hi Ana, thanks for watching! Anytime I add fresh clay to bowls for repairs or to fill in holes, I cover so that it has a chance to reach the same moisture content as the rest of the bowl. Covering with plastic top to bottom helps the moisture in the fresh clay to be absorbed by the rest of the piece (and be distributed equally). Fresh clay added to leather hard pieces may fall off later in the process.

    First, I have to say that I am really enjoying all of your videos! Please keep making them :) I want to make some of these molds. I am curious how you make them hollow. Do you set the smaller bowl inside the larger after pouring in the plaster? Never made a mold before, and any help you can give will be greatly appreciated. Thanks so much!

      You can use a nesting bowl or the bottom halves of those giant plastic easter egg sets that can be found at crafts stores in the spring. I did start a video on it but have yet to finish. Stay tuned!...

    If you use plastic wrap on the mold it will come off more easily.

    Jamie how do you make your round molds?Where do you find round objects to make different sizes the object I find all have flat bottoms.

    • @jamiemeador2967
      @jamiemeador2967  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for watching! I have a video on that called nested molds. It's hard to find rounded bottom bowls but they are out there. I use those along with giant nested Easter egg forms from craft stores. Smaller hemispheres are clear plastic ornaments
