The training for the clones reminds me of the spartan 2 program. Where children age 5-6 are recruited and trained both physically and with various education subjects including war games, tactics, and strategy along with math, physics, and technology. At age 12 pre augmentation the children matched against a UNSC Marine Corps company, Tango Company, in a simulated war game of capture the flag. Even after cheating and abusing the captured prisoners, a company of around 120-200 soldiers was defeated by at least 75 children with 6 years of military training.
@@timalsept2854 That's a quote from Captain Rex in the Rebels series, refering to the fact the Empire had phased them out for the inferior stormtrooper. Basically saying "Hope you brought actual soldiers to deal with us."
The clone troops being able to handle anything reminds me of the Motto "I am the weapon." I forget where I heard it but often comes to mind any time I see rank and file troops with speeches about how this is their weapon and it is their life. All I can think is cannon fodder cause for the top tier troops they are the weapon, everything around them is simply a tool and even "unarmed" they are deadly.
As opposed to a battle droid which is like taking those kitchen aid attachments and forcing them onto a hand blender. Yeah it’s cheaper and will work, but something will break and you’ll need a new blender after a while
@@coolgreenbug7551Yeah, but that seems to be by design for the droids. There are many ways in which they could have improved on the design without spending much more. Like having changeable body parts and battery pack, thus having them easily repairable and operational almost 24/7. Unlike a clone who still needs sleep and rest and medical care. Or better programming. The training of the clones took 9 years. All of that could have been put into their programming and uploaded to a droid brain in minutes. Or just producing commando droids (ok those actually are more expensive).
In the battlefront 2 (the older one) in the 501st journal it’s told that GROUND units were press into space combat with only simulated training to help them learn how to fly which is insane!
Which disproves what Gen Tech was saying. Clones aren't trained in all types of combat. The clones were forced to learn to fight in space because the Kaminoans didn't create the perfect military and thus didn't make nearly enough pilots
@@tk-6967 Well thats only true of legends in this case. Though arguably still learning in simulated training for several hundred hours still gives them more credence to be capable than say, if an infantryman had picked up a manual and read through it.
You have a lot of valid points on the clones . And their growth. I honestly liked the perspective they had in the 501st journal in battefront but also how they had the Chip placed in their brain too to follow order 66. The perspectives on clones is truly fascinating..
Few things to add, their production and training is more advanced and consistent in comparison to most armies in the galaxy (even compared to other sci-fi armies). On top of that they are also pretty flexible and mobile compared to other armies.
If you think about it most sci fi armies still use humans or so witch will take 17-20 years and the clones will only need 15 years total but for now let’s say 9-10 years by the time one human is recruited and fully trained let’s say that the clone production makes one unit of a battalion of 576 clones and since the cloning started 11 years before the war and if you do the math 2 battalions of clones and that’s just one Kamino has more so by the time a human recruit is prepared for battle 2 battalions or so will be combat ready
Why the Kamino cloners didn't reverse the age degradation problem of the clones. Being that perfectionists is a great flaw. And the clone fighting years are so many few than those of a normal person. In a long war, like 20 or 30 years, the will be useless.
And they didn't actually do what Gen Tech said, making this so-called 'perfect army' even less perfect. Clone pilots, gunners and other specialised roles, even something seemingly more basic like 'heavy troopers', 'engineers' and 'snipers' were all specially trained clones. Regular clones were either not at all trained on how to do these things, or had very little training. This became a huge issue for the Republic when they had a pilot shortage midway through the war. The Republic had to use Spaarti cloning to compensate for lack of numbers, training became of even lesser quality until the Spaarti clones made stormtroopers from SW Rebels look competent. Needless to say, a lot of this was also the fault of Mace Windu and the Jedi strike team on Geonosis for doing that dumb rescue attempt, which not only saw almost 200 of the finest Jedi warriors killed (the arena battle only), but also saw the death of the clone donor himself, Jango Fett. This was a huge blow to the Republic.
Omega Team's replacement was an X-EOD Clone who had lost his arms & they wouldn't give him high enough quality replacements so he was transferred to a desk job until he came into the orbit of the Null Arc Troopers working with Omega, Delta Two of their trainers from Kamino. That Kal Skirata started cross training him to exhalent results. All the the book Triple Zero by Karren Travers the second book in the Republic Commando Series that I would highly recommend
And then he tried to replace Fi as the groups funny man. I love Corr, dudes such a mad lad, bro literally likes sharpening knives on his fingertips, best party trick ever
Very good points about the advantages of clone troopers over standard trained soldiers - there's just one problem I see. BX-series Commando Droids can do all of that as well, and more. So can IG-100 Magnaguards. They cost far more to produce than B1 or B2 battle droids, yes - but I'd be willing to bet the price would still be far, far less than feeding, housing, training, and equipping a single clone trooper for 9 years. Not to mention they'd be individually ready far, far faster than 9 years. And as callous as your public may be to the morality of clone soldiers, they'd still care more for clones than for the "life" and limb of battle droid casualties. So if you want an army of superbly trained and capable "swiss army knife" operators, high-end battle droids are still the much better option.
Honestly, I think the whole quantity vs quality debate is an issue in Star Wars’ canon (we love you George, but this was an oops). Clones should baseline be operating at the skill level of commandos to even begin to make up for their quantitative disadvantage against the droid army. That clone commander from the 2003 series, who was calling for reinforcements and then began just mowing down super battle droids? That should be clones on a regular basis.
They are though. If you take pre Disney media most stormtroopers have better aim than U.S Marines IRL when they're not being told to miss like in ANH. By contrast clones and yes, b1s are freakishly good shots. The average reg in TCW can knock over B2s with ease, send 600 pound dwarf spider droids flying with a kick, melee a group of trandoshands, and wrestle commando droids to the floor before ripping their limbs off. They're literally stated in canon and legends materials to be improvements on Fett in terms of their strength and durability from genetic enhancement. How that works and how much they're enhanced varies but they're still stronger, faster and more durable than Jango Fett could ever be. The reason we see clones as 'weak' is because they are from the perspective of force users and cyborg super weapons like grievous. Or against battle droids they're outnumbered 100 to 1. To a natborn of any species weaker than a Wookie a clone trooper would be terrifying. To a small battalion (100-200 individuals) of Stormtroopers, Rebels, Planetary Militiamen, etc Five Clones would be a major threat.
@@IsaacVizasLurie The reason we see clones as weak is because they are still treated as cannon fodder in the Clone Wars. When I say clones should be operating at commando level, I’m saying that Clone Troopers in Star Wars should be on par with what we’ve seen of Clone Commandos. With only a few million clones to wage a Galaxy-wide war, especially against trillions of droids, one clone basically needs to be a one-man army. Sure, I’ll accept that the whole war was staged, but then why didn’t anyone stop and ask “Hey, we’re supposed to be outnumbered a million to one; why didn’t we lose in the first week of the war?” I love Star Wars, don’t get me wrong, but scale has always been an issue in the universe’s design.
@@IsaacVizasLurieyeah, the Jedi's horrible tactics may have killed more clones then the droids, like just throwing special forces into the front lines as though they were droids
@@Expressmusic457 one thing to note, most of the jedi did not have much understanding of military service, most republic officers are only slightly better. So from the very start every cline was being misused and improperly led which obviously made a lot of problems through the war. If the jedi were smart they would have sent detachments to every world to train local militas in everything they need to know to hold their world while reinforcements responds but little of that happened. For some reason the jedi never thought that far or were rarely proactive in situations. The Training they have is not in rambo style badassery but basically being tought nearly every occupation needed for a functional army, the kaminoans did not even know wether or not the clones will need to be self sustaining as in there are normal humans doing the logistics side so they covered everything. They can function as a police force because they had training in de escalating a situation, they can maintain and repair equipment on the field and everyone knows how to conduct inventory and requisition equipment and the list goes on. Fighting is actually 10 percent of the military, the rest is each and every clone either knows or is fairly familiar of and can participate. Arcs and clone commandos on the other skipped those extra occupational instructions and focused on what directly impacts their mission objectives, so they probably don't learn about working on a starship or starfighter or know how to do field surgery but in exchange they got more time into tactical operations training instead. The commandos in particular had very specific teachers who taught them what they felt is the most important of being in this occupation.
@f-86zoomer37 , it's so funny to me how you narrow-minded morons simply get offended by someone celebrating something within *their* own lives. Something that doesn't pertain to you at all. Your comment tells everyone exactly what they need to know about you. Instead of trying to belittle others about what they believe, maybe take a step back and look in the mirror, and you'll see that negativity is all on you. Not only are you a narrow-minded sadistic fuck, you're the problem. Eat shit, and God bless.
Interestingly enough we see in Legends the New Republic would form their own fighter pilot-commando team. Primarily formed from those that had washed out of normal Star fighter training and selected for their secondary skills. Wraith Squadron was a fantastic unit.
as a Prophet once said : A good soldier know there's only one thing he can rely when the chips are down. Not his cutting edge intel. Not his state-of-the-art weapon... Just himself. And I think clones did that trick somehow, having flash memory of training allowed them to not crack even when the odds were against them
Now, that's a great thumbnail. 👌🏻 Commander Cody describes the clones best: Cody, Imperial Battalion Commander, Operational Log [excerpt]: "Since the Empire has redirected the clone trooper program to other pursuits and stepped up recruiting inferior humans from the Outer Rim, the operational effectiveness of this army has declined significantly. The stormtroopers in my own battalion are expendable buffoons. They have neither common sense nor sense of their own surroundings. Just today, I witnessed a new recruit hit his head on a blast door during maneuvers. Blasted idiots! What a disgrace to the heritage and legacy of a once truly incredible fighting force. As one of the last clones in service today, few others can share in my disdain for these men. I'd sacrifice an entire platoon of new stormtrooper recruits for just one real clone trooper. If the clone template were still alive, I think he'd kill them all himself."
Hey Alan a potential video suggestion for you what would the republic have done with the clone army if it didn’t become the empire and won the clone war.
I could be wrong but I believe there’s a Legends What-if comic talking about if the Republic won with Sidious plan to end the Jedi also failing. Since the war over and the Republic didn’t need to keep an army as expansive as the clone a portion was sent to Mandalore to be citizens while other star systems took other battalions in for other citizenships as well. Some became bounty hunters, some re-enlisted in other smaller armies or defense forces, and some were free to live their lives as they pleased.
I'd make one critique of your overall presentation here. You make clones because you want an expendable army. You dont want to die. You dont want your sons and daughters to die. You dont want to have to deal with consciousness. You just get your perfect little toy soldier that goes and happily dies on that hill over there for you. Thats one of the truest, realest reasons for a clone army. *Click here to learn of examples of failed clone armies*
Reminds me of Warhammer 40k where the Alpha Legion was cross-trained into every battlefield role. But they mostly used it to be excessively tolerant to any disruptions of the chain of command and to be able to change unit identities on the spot to confuse enemies, or even do black ops using the livery of another Legion. Basically when every Space Marine is interchangeable and anonymous, it makes gathering intelligence on them extremely hard. It's just a formless hydra that attacks you from all sides and that has no crucial organs that can disable it.
If you think about it no ordinary person can infiltrate a base with clone trooper armor. They would have to fit in the armor and have the same voice as the clones. This is exaclty why the rebels were able to win is because they were able to infiltrate the empire's ranks and get important intel.
The Empire had improved abilities to find these people though. Stormtrooper HUDs and other equipment would deactivate if the registered user didn't where it, and rebel infiltrators wearing armour weren't that hard to detect. The reason the Empire wasn't able to stop infiltration is because Rebel infiltrators were simply really good, meanwhile the Republic didn't have that problem since the war was rigged.
Not exactly for foreign legion: A foreign legionnaire can apply for French nationality after three years of service, and it was usually approved, and the formula "par le sang versé" lit by shed blood , was the name of a text of law allowing French nationality to be conferred by an exceptional procedure on any legionnaire injured in operations who expresses the wish.
But the Clone army was never actually intended to win the Clone Wars against the CIS Droid army. It was designed from the start to be good enough and last long enough for Order 66 to issued. Order 66 was the real objective/target of the Clones.
Yes it was intended to win. They sucked at it, which is why it took so long. Palpatine was even forced to outright leak the location of a top secret battle droid factory because the Republic was having such a bad time against the droids it produced
Now, I wonder if First Order troopers had an edge over their Imperial stormtooper and Republic Clone trooper counterparts. Imperial stormtrooper ranks were comprised of people with varying starting point origins regarding military exposure and training. Not everyone was privileged enough to enter into an academy at a younger age, which meant either having way less time to prepare for graduation compared to others, or the standards were lowered; especially for late-Empire era conscripts. First Order trooper origins are kidnapped children having military life forced upon them from a young age. Since genetically modified aging didn’t speed up their time like their clone counterparts, their upbringings must’ve allowed for more skill sets to learn and perfect before reaching young adulthood. While not necessarily bred for war from birth, First Order troopers were far from conscripts and either sit with or just below Clones, imo. If Fett Clone ranks weren’t so hurriedly formed through age modification and perhaps underwent what First Order troopers had (I imagine they used similar training methods compared to Kamino’s, just less rushed) the bar would be set even higher. Heck, that could probably explain the Sith Troopers from Exegol.
I’m an emergency situation, as far as I understand, for US Marine Corps boot camp, the fluff they’d be cutting out is generally just history related information, and they’d just accelerate the training process, so a lot more PT with MCMAP mixed in, to get the basic qualifications knocked out as fast as possible, rifle qualification as soon as the recruits can be thrown on to a range, land nav (which includes how to read maps and identify features), a lot of boot camp was history, you could probably knock out a month from boot camp on history alone, they’d still do drill because that is imperative for learning how to understand and execute orders quickly. Another thing they’d probably take away as I recall would be hours, you’d be sleeping a lot less because you’d be training later into the night, less time to eat, shorter time at church, cut the fat where you can kind of thing, less time for writing letters and what have you (at the end of every night we’d get an hour called square away time) they’d probably knock that down to like 15-30 minutes, squeeze that to get even more training time
Presumably this was the larges army the kaminoans had created, i do wonder what other cloning projects they had before the clone army. Or were they cloning for their own species until they were industrialised by palpatine?
6:32 Well no, they aren't. Clone pilots, walker pilots and all of these other specialised troops are just that - specialised. Yes, clone troopers *should* have been trained to pilot ships and use walkers, but we know for a fact that they generally speaking weren't. Battlefront 2 for example mentions that the Republic navy had a major pilot shortage, which resulted in standard clones having to use flight simulators whenever they could. We know that clone pilots were picked out when they were in their youth based on tests conducted. Regular clones hadn't been trained to fly, use walkers, etc. Heck, even roles like 'engineer', 'heavy' and 'sniper' were not roles that average troopers had been trained to fill despite having so many years of training, for some reason, the Kaminoans again gave those roles to specific troopers they had picked out. Of course, a lot of this stuff ended up being scrapped during the war, but the damage had largely been done.
The Republic Clone Troopers know, trusts&confident that their fellow clone brothers will Zig and Zag the same way as them compared to Imperial Storm Troopers who can't even shoot straight.
This kinda make sense when playing the Republic Commando game. Yeah, sure they are commandos that can think out of the box and use something they find in the battlefield. But I mean, you can order one of your squardmates to man a side turret from a down LAAT/i. You can even take control of the main gun of a AT-TE. That is cross training in other weapon systems like no other. I dont think a normal foot soldier can go directly into a tank and use it's main gun. Not without know what the system does, or had been trained in it
It isn't true for regular clones though, Gen Tech is just making up lore because we actually know that positions like pilot, engineer, sniper and driver were all specialised roles that regular clones weren't trained for. In Battlefront 2 they even mention this becoming a problem by the midpoint in the war, because the Republic simply didn't have enough trained pilots, so infantry clones were forced to do basic flight tests.
@@tk-6967I mean, I dont think Republic Commandos game is cannon friendly as well XD But that aside, he still has a point. It is true for real life soldiers as well. Abit in a reverse order. Example A crew of a main battle tank is "trained" and "specialised" for that role. But first and foremost they been trained with the basic in for standard foot solider. So in the heat of the battle, if their tanks suddenly being unable to fight, but the crew is still alive, then they can dismount and fight. Just until they get back to base to get assigned a new tank. What I mean is that even through you have like logistics, tank crews, SPG crews, and so on. They all had been through the basic soldier trainings. So when the shit hits the fan, you can expect that the logistic personal will try to fight and defend themselves as well
In my opinion, it wasn't necessarily the quality of the clones by themselves. If you have the best artillery gun in the world, but it gets into close range combat, it doesn't matter how good the artillery piece is. It's just the wrong tool for the job. The clones were not the best pilots, nor the best infantry or tankers by default. They could become the best anything with enough training and time, but their real strength was their adaptability. They were good in all areas, excellent in their personal specialization, and this meant they could adjust their plans on the fly in a way that battle droids struggled to. Further, their experiences could then be incorporated into a larger understanding of the war effort and why certain decisions were made. If your soldiers understand the general operational objectives, then they can take advantage of opportunities that further those objectives even without orders to do so. This is something the US Army used to great effect in the Second World War. By involving NCO's in the planning of large missions, they understood the mission goals, concerns and would seize opportunities accordingly.
The clones had a spartan like approach to training, you WERE trained in combat, whether if you are in a fighter or on the ground. Maybe they wouldn't do so well for civilian life, but they were objectively superior to the droids. They droids could swarm, but that's about it, most of their ground troops had a lot to be desired, their space fighters however, those were decent later in the war.
Jedi are supposed to train themselves to their physical and mental peak, thats what i thought when I saw the fat jedi, he cant resist the dark side if he couldn't resist a donut. Ain't it obvious how little disney and its DEI hires care about the show when thats the least of its problems?
It's unfortunate that the clones were phased out so quickly. They were incredibly flexible soldiers that could easily adapt to various combat situations.
I’ll never get how these character in the Star Wars universe act so casual as they kill. More specifically in Rebels many of the characters will kill for their first time and act like they just did something cool and will act all proud about it. Hell they’ll kill like 40-50 stormtroopers and then sit down and eat lunch with their buddies like it’s a lunch break at work. Can you make a video about this?
A HUGE flaw in oversite, to me anyways, was this MASSIVE an very expensive to set up, use an maintain system was set up to have only so much effective shelf life an effectively as a whole depending on also how well they can ALSO be trained an equipped too. If anything, they shoulda been engineered to either STOP aging on reachin adult age OR a plan to give them a treatment(s) to stop or very much slow their agin to give them something of a proper life while a very small childhood. The war, woulda handled any PC issues as to them being an excessive amount of Clone surviving Vets after the war. An on top that a very elite but also very expensive to make, train an equip force you want to be able to keep around awhile. Especially when for all you know they might be needed indefinitely since constant refilling the ranks was only problematic if you werent constantly growing fresh reserves of troops to fall under survivng veterans an replace those lost for various reasons.. never much cared for oversights like that which made huge differences

The Jango Fett Clone Army is the most elite and deadly, although miniature, military in fictional history. Quality over Quantity for these men! For the Republic!
I hate how the mainstream canon media we have never really does a good job of portraying the clone troopers as the highly trained and extremely capable soldiers they are.
"No one in their right minds would naturally ever make a military force like this..." Really? If someone was able to do this in real life, they would rule the world.
Nah, he is wrong. Clones *should have been* trained like he said, but the lore makes it very clear that they weren't. Clone pilots were specifically chosen when they were young for specific test results, and then trained separately. The Republic ran into a shortage of pilots midway through the war, so regular troops were forced to train in basic simulators only at that time.
Quantity has a quality all it's own.-Stalin. HMMM-9 years to raise/train clone, 17-18 years to raise/train normal human enlisted (not to mention at least couple years of college for officers), no families to compensate with SGLI, no spouses to give jobs to or use husbands rank on lower enlisted....Clones sound better.
You guys ever think how weird the earliest stages of clone training must have been? Like they have to learn how to walk and read first and only then you can begin a proper training. Then imagine a company of toddlers learning how to march in formation while still shitting their diapers. Or kids watching videos about finding cover under fire before they can even walk. Also being raised mostly by those dolphin psychopats and with no one taking proper care of them the fact that the clones are decent guys rather than power and violence obsessed mofos is the most unrealistic thing about thier training. You think Kaminoans used to put them in solitary for crying?
The clones have one advantage They’re consistent Non clones have one advantage You’re assuming you can recruit and release troopers from service as needed and have the benefits of your military values being put back into your economy One assumes a need to go to war the other assumes an increased cost to going to war
Very rare instances of treason, unwavering trust in each other and trained to be complete and total bad ass killing machines yeah I think they got some advantages over non clones
I figured that's why the Republic Navy was able to hold its own against the CIS despite being so heavily outnumbered in the beginning. Having Venators and Accumulators with entire clone crews and full squadrons of clone fighter pilots. Sure you can build a massive automated methodical navy with pre-programmed battle drills; but its going to get wrecked by a naval force which has trained for years most likely knowing what those pre-programmed battle drills are is more flexible being imaginative and better to respond and counter attack. On top of that its amplified by the command assistance of experienced veteran naval officers from across the Republic and can follow the lead of space wizards into battle.
No. The reason is simple, the war was rigged, thus the droids were also rigged. The Republic navy was complete shit, and the Republic was losing the war despite the poor tactics of droid forces and the loss of many important CIS organic commanders. The Kaminoans hadn't trained nearly enough clone pilots, and they simply couldn't handle the droid fighters. This forced the Republic to send more and more regular troops into starfighter duty.
@@tk-6967 well every Star Wars fan knows that the whole thing was rigged; but it's not that simple. Palpatine knew he needed a special force of adaptable military personnel to keep up with the Jedi. And no it wasn't complete shit. It perfect and what was needed to encourage the Jedi to commit to wreckless tactics and the more wreckless they got the greater the chances they would get themselves killed. Many clone troops were pulled off the battlefield and put into the cockpit because the clones were far superior to the droids. Basic droid combat programming was shit to begin with and all you have to do is watch the Phantom Menace to know that. At the start of the war it was extremely rough for the clones and the Republic but after the outer rim siege campaigns it was turning around swinging things in the Republic and the Jedi. The clones were exactly as I described and they did great despite being so heavily outnumbered.
@@ImNtDead The Outer Rim Sieges were towards the end of the war, and most sources make it entirely clear that the CIS could have won at any point had they been trying, to the point that even the most ardent Palpatine supporters couldn't deny how weird the CIS tactics at the battle of Coruscant were. TPM shows that the droids were relatively competent. What it does show is that the Gungans, despite being primitive and isolationist, were formidable, and it shows that the droids were only beaten because of the Chosen One, or rather plot convenience. No, the clones weren't 'put in cockpits' because they were effective, the Republic was desperate because the droid navy was simply superior in every way to the Republics. They better ships, better starfighters, etc. and were only held back by Palpatine and co. sabotaging them.
@@tk-6967 oh sorry I'm not talking about the fight between the gungans and the battle droids I'm talking about when the Naboo Royal Fighter Corp went up after the control ship that had a thousand vulture droids. The vulture droids are entirely reliant on numbers. And I'm not saying the clone troopers were put in the cockpit because they were great at it, it's because they were capable of being put into that role. The clones were the superior force being more flexible and innovative in coming up with new tactics prior to and during battle. Palpatine needed them to be that. He didn't just need a force that could execute the Jedi the moment he gave the order he needed a force that can stand against extreme odds and they needed to be able to do that both on the ground and in space. While it is suggested that the CIS could just overrun the Republic with their numbers its mostly not that simple. After all Dooku needs to play his part as the head of the CIS which saw themselves as planets who were just trying to be free of the Republic. They probably expected Dooku to wage a mostly defensive war for independence. In the Clone Wars cartoon we don't get to see a lot of the politics that take place with in the CIS like we do the Republic; but I imagine Dooku was doing the same thing as Palpatine consolidating power under his control.
@ImNtDead The Naboo pilots were well trained in starfighter combat. That is a key difference between them and foot clones. No, clone creativity had nothing to do with why Palpatine picked them. If he cared about sheer effectiveness, he would have used a non-human donor or just went with droids, but neither of those were politically viable. Fett was chosen by chance ultimately. Besides, the reason the clones killed the Jedi never boiled down to their 'creativity', it was because the Jedi didn't expect it and couldn't fight their overwhelming firepower. Not only that, but the Jedi had already been severely weakened by the war and were spread out thin. It wasn't that difficult for the clones to eliminate them.
EMP the program of out of them and then reprogram them to make a decent Ramen Pho and Mandorin Cantonese feeds from North and South of Asia so the tools that watch other people eat can snap out of it. Oi ,waiter, where're are my dumblings.
Aren't B1 droids also Swiss army knives? Which resets the troop multiplier for the clones in that regard. Quality over Quantity is just Quality trying to buy time before Quantity wins.
The video kind of just lied btw. regular clones weren't trained to do anything but fight as foot troops. Yes, the Kaminoans should have done what Gen Tech said, but they didn't, and this was even brought up in Battlefront 2 when the clone narrator mentions that the Republic was short on pilots and many foot troops had to start learning in flight simulators in their free time so that they could get into starfighters. We also know from source books that the original clone pilots were picked from when they were young to train in their role, it was not standard issue training
Yeah the clone army and its troopers innate flexibility, training that covered all roles and positions within the grand army and being proficient on most vehicle types, both ground and air. Made them formidable fighting ms home where did a chance quantity did not mean a lack of quality. As with the clone army, you got exactly what it said on the tin every time.
Clone troopers are described, said, and stated to be the best soldiers of all time. They were only a couple million of them compared to the 100 billions of the CIS's droids. Single clones could take out billions of battle droids. But on screen a clone Trooper would take out 3-5 droids before he died. The clones were shown to be way weaker Than they are described. The republic should've lost all their clones fairly quickly. But for whatever reason the clones on screen aren't that OP, and the one mentioned in writting are better than jedi masters. It's a quirk I in the plot That I noticed
DNA is pretty meaningless to be honest. Dooku could have got any human with a natural advantage in physical activity for the job. Honestly, the only good thing about hiring Fett was in the EU where he gets tons of Mando mercenaries he knows to help in the training process, it is less about Fett as a donor but the experience he has. Mace Windu really fucked up everyone's plans when he killed Fett.
Hey!!! City parents live through their children too and schedule out their kids lives too. Stop Hating on the suburbs man. Hokey religions and ancient weapons are no match for a blaster at your side kid.
The CES massively outnumbered the GAR, and the only reason the war took as long as it did was Sidious constantly leaking intel... and the Seppos still got their ass kicked.
What? You think that Sidious wanted the CIS to win? No, he wanted the Republic to win. Had Sidious wanted the CIS to win, the clones would have lost the battle of Geonosis.
I think another big one is how they all see each other as brothers. They would always trust one another.

@@timalsept2854 i mean they become Stormtroopers later on after the Clone Wars ended
The Clone Troopers are collectively the perfect plot device.
So less like a swiss army knife and more like a kitchen aid stand mixer with any attachment you could want slapped onto it.
I think it’s really cool that is part of the canon
Happy easter yall
That’s definitely a good point
Literally every problem and every bit of untapped potential in the droid army originates from the leaders being cheap
Sure, I’ll accept that the whole war was staged, but then why didn’t anyone stop and ask “Hey, we’re supposed to be outnumbered a million to one; why didn’t we lose in the first week of the war?”
I love Star Wars, don’t get me wrong, but scale has always been an issue in the universe’s design.

Now, that's a great thumbnail. 👌🏻
Commander Cody describes the clones best:
Cody, Imperial Battalion Commander, Operational Log [excerpt]:
"Since the Empire has redirected the clone trooper program to other pursuits and stepped up recruiting inferior humans from the Outer Rim, the operational effectiveness of this army has declined significantly.
That headbanger was probably assigned to the Death Star.

Remember the old quote from WW2? "Quanity has a quality all of its own." It was either Patton or Zhukov.
It was Stalin who said it
Reminds me of Warhammer 40k where the Alpha Legion was cross-trained into every battlefield role.
This guy is a Veteran! Totally! In a 68W3P, def a VetBro!
Not exactly for foreign legion:
A foreign legionnaire can apply for French nationality after three years of service, and it was usually approved, and the formula "par le sang versé" lit by shed blood , was the name of a text of law allowing French nationality to be conferred by an exceptional procedure on any legionnaire injured in operations who expresses the wish.
I like your soothing voice, Allen. ;)

Another thing they’d probably take away as I recall would be hours, you’d be sleeping a lot less because you’d be training later into the night, less time to eat, shorter time at church, cut the fat where you can kind of thing, less time for writing letters and what have you (at the end of every night we’d get an hour called square away time) they’d probably knock that down to like 15-30 minutes, squeeze that to get even more training time
Not to mention MCT itself is already the abridged version of ITB
Just like the stimulations
Presumably this was the larges army the kaminoans had created, i do wonder what other cloning projects they had before the clone army. Or were they cloning for their own species until they were industrialised by palpatine?
This channel is so damn cool !!!!!
Quality is a quantity all its own
6:32 Well no, they aren't.
"icy cold dolphin heart"😂
Example
A crew of a main battle tank is "trained" and "specialised" for that role.
So when the shit hits the fan, you can expect that the logistic personal will try to fight and defend themselves as well
@@Danspy501st Isn't that true for most armies in Star Wars though?
Quanityty vs quality. Keep in mind the Aztecs always out numbered the Conquistadors and their local allies 25 to 1.
That's more of a technology difference...
They got that dawg in them
The clones had a spartan like approach to training, you WERE trained in combat, whether if you are in a fighter or on the ground.
Instead of the Clones Army, will the Janissary Corps worked for the Republic?

Nah, he is wrong. Clones *should have been* trained like he said, but the lore makes it very clear that they weren't. Clone pilots were specifically chosen when they were young for specific test results, and then trained separately. Badass killing machines? Aside from ARCs and Commandos, nah not really
Honestly the bad batch has me siding and agreeing with the Kaminoans a lot, which is saying something
EMP the program of out of them and then reprogram them to make a decent Ramen Pho and Mandorin Cantonese feeds from North and South of Asia so the tools that watch other people eat can snap out of it.
Oi ,waiter, where're are my dumblings.
kaminoans where basically like Steve Jobs
Aren't B1 droids also Swiss army knives? Which resets the troop multiplier for the clones in that regard. Quality over Quantity is just Quality trying to buy time before Quantity wins.
Much more so, yes
The Clones Should Have been Used as an Elite Army, while the Droids Used as the main battle droid,
You should check out the old Dark Horse comics 2003-2006 Star Wars Clone Wars Volume series. That's real George Lucas not Filoni Baloney...
Clone Troopers are what you get when quality has quantity.
Not really. Clones are far too expensive to be considered quality, because they didn't perform nearly well enough for their cost.
The more you know
The video kind of just lied btw. regular clones weren't trained to do anything but fight as foot troops.
Very Nice
🤍🤍🤍
Clone troopers are described, said, and stated to be the best soldiers of all time. They were only a couple million of them compared to the 100 billions of the CIS's droids. Single clones could take out billions of battle droids. But on screen a clone Trooper would take out 3-5 droids before he died. The clones were shown to be way weaker Than they are described. The republic should've lost all their clones fairly quickly. But for whatever reason the clones on screen aren't that OP, and the one mentioned in writting are better than jedi masters. It's a quirk I in the plot That I noticed
👍
Whatever happened to Ben and American Ben?
So sad, the dolphins got them. 😢
I will build the clone army
Clone Trooper Secret Weapon?
Ah yes omega squad the bad batch...
By the prophets, Halo. It's finished......
Are you ex military? The way you talk and make comparisons I feel like you are! And I forget that Star Wars is fiction when I watch your videos
They got that Fett DNA too
DNA doesn't give fighting skills, though. The only thing it contributes is that it gives you Fett's physique and face.
Good soldiers follow orders
"Good soldiers do what they think is right."
FOURTH 😅 nobody cares
Hey!!! City parents live through their children too and schedule out their kids lives too. Stop Hating on the suburbs man. Hokey religions and ancient weapons are no match for a blaster at your side kid.
Clone troopers can hit stuff
FIRST
The CES massively outnumbered the GAR, and the only reason the war took as long as it did was Sidious constantly leaking intel... and the Seppos still got their ass kicked.
> "The Nexus Route."
Case in point.
What? You think that Sidious wanted the CIS to win? No, he wanted the Republic to win. Had Sidious wanted the CIS to win, the clones would have lost the battle of Geonosis.
