Would appreciate if you would provide a link to my nexuspage. You use a lot of my content in your droid videos or thumbnails and it strikes me as only fair.
Playing Star Wars: Legion, on multiple occasions, my droid forces have been whittled down to just 2 remaining B1s.
We have a running gag that it's always the same 2 B1s left standing like:
"Hey, where did everybody go?"
"Not again!"
That would be a good running gag for the Clone Wars series.
I have a legion droid army too, but i have no one to play with...
@@midniteraptor1474 I occasionally force my friends to play when they come over... and they usually beat me.
@mitwhitgaming7722 feel that, I usually lose the few times I play. But I don't care because droids are my favorite and I am going to play as them even if I lose
@midniteraptor1474 I was watching a video yesterday, one of the best builds in the competitive meta is 2 AATs with 4 B1 squads.
My guess as to why the I-10 Prober Droid was made is that there are some worlds where the deployment of repulsorlift droids and vehicles are impossible. I can see this droid being useful as a literal ground scout like what we have seen in reality before drones became a thing.
Ground scouts are still a thing.
Ground scouts are still a thing.
high gravity worlds? planets with such thick atmospheres it would mess with repulsors?
@@Powerlesscheeseirrc the explanation in legends was "magnetism" or somethinf
The B1 having the potential to become paranoid is really funny but also really sad, poor guys.
B1s have so much charm in all their variants. Easily my favorite Battle Droid line the CIS had.
Ski Battle Droids are the best. They are basically Finnish Battle Droids.
Cross program a sniper B1 with a ski B1...
Dear mother of pearl. Separatist White Death droids would be Uber lethal😂
Simo Häyhä says hi!!!
Clones and Droids are more similar than I thought before due to what they both go through
Another sign of George Lucas' brilliance.
Kinda the point, really...Clones were 'intended' to be organic 'droids'.
They really saw the IG100 magna guards and said “screw you we can do better” then made the B1 electro staff. I’m sure someone got fired for that.
The I-10 has such limited use cases I can only imagine that it wasn't a purpose built B1 variant but an improvised repurose of a standard B1 done by CIS Commanders that were 1. Operating in an environment that prohibited repulsorlift units that you would normally use and 2. Either didn't have or didn't want to use droids better suited to scouting/spotting like the Dwarf Spider Droid.
It really does seem like a field-expedient upgrade package slapped together, doesn't it?
jet and rocket packs might be able to fall thru shields if you cut the jets at contact with the shield powering thru you'd still have the air flow moving fast enough to trigger the repelling effect
Missed opportunity for the 2008 TCW to add more B1s.
TCW didn't care about the EU.
for sure
Yep. They were too focused on the Clones, and specifically WAY too focused on Ahsoka and Rex.
A lot of droids are missing from that show, like Hailfire Droids and Homing Spider Droids.
TCW missed opportunity to show a lot of things, even missed opportunity to adapt some Republic comics arcs or show characters who were said to be around like Rohm Mok (creator of Dark Troopers and Hero of Clone Wars) or Gillad Pellaeon who also was on Republic's side fighting against CIS's clones.
Not to mention they shown no AT-RT gunners or Airborn troopers.
YAY!
Finally after all these years, someone acknowledged the electrostaff b1!
I think a jet pack going slow enough could theoretically go through a shield. We’ve seen droids go through shields w/out damage. The jet pack’s electronics would probably remain intact, but the interaction might be different with the gases being ignited as propellent. So yeah, you might just explode.
That's interesting. I don't remember how it worked in battlefront, not that that would close the debate
If you turned off the jetpack before passing through the shield it could work.
@@26th_Primarch ooooohhh yeah I like that idea
You should do a breakdown on stormtroopers. How they’re trained, their equipment and maybe briefly touch on the different variants, along with the Imperial Command structure.
I love the variants of the B1 and B2 Battle Droids. They're just so satisfying to look at. I don't know how to explain it.
Thank you so much for going in a deep dive of the B1 and OOM battle Droid variants from the other video games I didn't know about. This is one of the reasons why I would side with the Separatists thanks to their creativity with even the simple dim-withed Droids. I really love how they paid attention to the Lore connected to the trilogies , My favourite being the Flying/Ariel Battle Droids!
I love B1 battle droids

@@jonny_codphilo7809 Roger Roger
I like them but B2 Super Battle Droids and Droidekas are my favorite.
@@TheFirstCurse1 I mean I like all the battle droids
13:54 I wonder if those "Red shoulder" B1's are a nod to Armored Trooper Votoms. The mechs in that show turn really quickly in any direction too, considering they're on roller-skates.
Yeah they are I meant to include that in the ending
Was planning on making a fan made game where you play as a clone trooper. Was kinda confused about the ranks of droids but this vid got me to understand now
Awesome coverage! Who would’ve thought the droid army had so many specialized droid roles?
I feel kind of bad for the Commanders, at one point they could have commanded whole armies, then the Tactical Droid got introduced reducing them to ship Captains or leading small units, the the Super Tac reduced them to merely leading squads.
4:02 Ah, the Tankers.
The B1-A always stuck out to me ever since I saw it in a guidebook for the Revenge of the Sith game, along with the B2 Grapple Droid. They were creative reimaginings of their base models that were still just identifiable enough that you knew what they were based on, but could also tell that they were something far different.
You forgot the B1 Grapple Droid
wasn't that a b2 variant?
@@Spooglecraft there was a variant of the B2 called the grappler. But prior to the release of attack of the clones in some of the video, games and stuff, there was a B1 variant called the grapple droid.
Both were in the ROTS game, right?"
@@hurricaneace143 Jedi Power Battles originally. Galactic Defense after Disney ruined everything.
@@ultrajdagreed
Security droids having to have memory wipes actually makes me think of how with these language models (even if they aren't real AI) can seemingly go increasingly off the rails the longer the session.
I wish we seen these variants of battle droids in the clone wars
Epic video! So much nostalgia in it.
I really like the design of the battledroids. It’s a shame they were turned into incompetent comedians in the Clone Wars.
I was a little surprised the B1 Grappledroid didn’t make it in from Jedi Power Battles. But I am happy the plasma droid made it.
3:07 - Cyberpsychosis confirmed in Star Wars.
Bro unlocked a memory with the danq8000 clip. I used to watch him as a kid
damnnnn and a B1 vid just like yesterday WE EATING GOOD BOYS 🗣️
The idea of repulsers not mixing with sheilds is odd but a welcome addition to the lore.
The problem with jetpacks going through the sheilds I've never thought of before, but assuming that it's not immediately lethal, then whoever the poor soul is becomes a very shoot-able target.
Loved the variants, especially the ones I've never heard of before !
👍🏻👍🏻
That's been from the beginning, it is why the AAT don't go through the shield. I get also real world tactics might not want to send your tanks flying in like a video game but that was cited as why, then in the clone wars show it was why on geonosis they have to do the ground assault
I'll will say, in all droid explaining videos on TH-cam I've never heard of the probe or ski droid.
I imagine that after the Battle of Naboo, the Trade Federation sought the creation of the Heavy Battle Droid for use as a heavy infantry support unit. Then during the Separatist Crisis, it was phased out in favor of the B2.
Have you ever herd the tragedy of the B1 ski series droid? I thought not, its not a story the Clones would tell you…
the flying B1 from the last season of Clone Wars is missing, where the B1s where guarding Echo
That wasn't a B1 variant, though. That droid was a completely different droid called a D-wing droid.
@@CloneCommanderCrater1102 wookeepedia calls het a B series droid and they look and act similar
@mondriaa Wookiepedia states that it is a D1-series aerial battle droid (AKA a D-wing droid) and that it's a part of the B-series line. Being a part of the B-series line is literally nothing special, as nearly every basic CIS droid type is part of that line (B1s, B2s, B3s, D1s, etc.). Just because they look similar does not mean they are from the same line. B1s and BXs look similar, but BXs are not considered B1 variants.
@@CloneCommanderCrater1102 cool, must have read it wrong or misremembered
With the jetpack i think its mostly if its repulsor or not, because repulsorrs cant function while going through sheilds, but jetpacks that run via gasoline or the star wars equivalent might be able to
Its good to see some swgb representation btw there is a mod for swgb called expanding fronts
That Kinect Star Wars gameplay takes me back
Man, I miss clone wars adventures.
WHERES THE Republic commando one???
You should do a video of planetary defense forces
I’d say for the scout droid it could have improved sensors that could be used for reconnaissance on previous battlefields or it could be used as more like a radio operator where they help direct artillery fire or could be used for helping spot hidden enemies like snipers
Seems kind of obvious that the I-10 probe droid was a redesignation of reprogrammed, salvaged B1s. This designation as a probe droid likely was a way to sidestep the fact battle droids were illegal during the Empire. Removing the battle droid programming and weapons that made them Class 4 droids would be a fair loophole to use them as viable Class 5 labor droids. Considering they are found in the Galactic Civil War era in the game Star Wars Galaxies, I think it makes way more sense they are not a standard Baktoid model and are instead a repurchased chassis
Also they were meant to probe tunnels in asteroids to determine their safety to organics. Old war salvage is likely cheaper and more disposable than a superior hovering camdroid
The old Star wars game. Takes me back
When it comes to a jetpack, you can go through shields, but one that works off repulsors would short out
This is the true beauty of the b1 battle droid: they can be whatever you want them to be
Now I can't stop imagining some random guy in a Droid design room coming up with the Runner B1 and the Ski B1 not giving a shit that they're designing weapons of war and just making something funny and then coming up with some kind of battlefield advantage these models can bring to their superiors so that they won't loose their job.
I bloody love em!!!! XD
The Mk3 B1 reminds me of the Street Cleaner from UltraKill.
Surely I’m not the only one who sees that.
My favorite is the B1-A also came from a pretty fun game
The one black series pack titled heavy b1 battle droid did us dirty by giving us a stormtrooper heavy rife
One of the most simple and adaptable droids ever built in all of galactic history.
I love the B1! I just wish the whole colour-scheme bit was more consistent. I mean, with clones it was a clear-cut system at first: each colour signified a rank, but eventually colours became unit colours instead (i.e. the 501st legion all having blue regardless of rank), but with the B1 droids it was just all over the place from the get-go.
Could we please get an end of the year super cut of all the “Remember” end lines ?😂
Lol that is a good idea
The droid sniper rifle is one of the coolest star wars blasters.
Remember when B1s weren't a joke? Pepperidge Farm remembers.
> "Could they fly through shields?
Yes; unlike hover-tanks an airborn Droid could build momentum and disable the pack to fall through a shield, then re-enable the pack on the other side.
Interesting to think the TF used Naboo to test their new B1 variations and decided to scrap most of them for the commando droid.
Plasma Battle Droid is my favorite
OOM had the coolest voice out of the B1 BD's
What about the soecial version in republic commando? Those are grey with i think a tougher armor
I suspect it might be possible to use a jetpack to hover through a shield. What is keeping you aloft is the thrust.
Lots of flavors of Clankers.
I wonder if particularly worthy battle droids could have their personality matrices uploaded into other droid bodies. Like if a particularly worthy B1 commander droid could be uploaded into a T-series tactical droid if they prove themselves particularly capable of commanding other battle droids. Or if from there a T-series droid could have their positronic brain uploaded into a Super tactical droid body and be capable of much greater autonomous thinking than just a lowly battle droid.
i love these videos
What about the B1 advanced battle droid from Republic Commando?
They're funny and a comic relief
Well Droids Always Attack in Swarms, and overwhelmed their Enemies too fast. And now it seems like they continue to bring out dangerous units
Just imagine a Droid psychiatrist helping out with the older models?
The I-10 is probably very useful on planets that naturally disable repulsorlift generators
i like that
AW SWEET, BUG-MADE HORRORS BEYOND MY HARD-DRIVE LIMITATIONS!
5:55 you know he got roasted
Can you look at Terminator T-850
That ski B1 should really have survived the clone wars so that way the galaxy could have something entertaining
The B1 is a fine example of why bean-counters should not make tactical manufacturing choices.
When I play Supremacy on battlefront 2 I always enjoy playing as a battle droid
sweet. love the B1s
Can you look at Mass Effect Geth
Can you look at Fallout Securitron
Can you look at Overwatch Bastion
can you do a breakdown of all the ships from jedi starfighter?
Just flying in place requires too much speed to fight gravity.
Have you done a video on the geonosian fighters?
What about the B1's in star wars republic cammando?
4:53 Hang on, isn't this a clip by The Humbled Son?
jet packs probably could go through a shield it probably would suck as im pretty sure they are stabilized by repulses
I suppose you could use a jetpack to move through shielding, so long as the jetpack used fuel rather than energy to power it.
I suspect one can only walk through them sheilds , as you feet act as an electrical ground. So i dont believe slow-moving jet pack units to be able to slip through a sheild at a slower speed .
When you update your OS and have an existential crises
There's no way that cut "Red Shoulder" B1 is not a VOTOMs reference.
Ngl all of these are by far the best robots ever made
Droids. Not robots.
@@tk-6967 I know I was encapsulating all
The moment I Saw Star Wars galactic battlegrounds I hit like😂
Great video! I was curious if the B1s in Republic Commando would be considered a different variant? Since they have a more sinister looking paintjob and seem to guard high value assets/targets @MetaNerdzLore
what was that small clip of the star wars game at 5:24 I remember playing that ages ago when I was still in middle school but could never remember the game
Me and the boys love Skii-droid
Given that the shields are based off dune shields yea you could fly through them if you fly slow enough
I don't think you can.
Any ship that can fly slow enough to fly through a deflector shield uses Repulsor Lift technology which cannot go through Deflector shields no matter how slow you go.
That's why the Trade Federation didn't drive their AAT's through the Gungan shield.
What games are those?
did you cover the green grenadier b1 from obi wan, or did i miss it?
I miss Battlegrounds.
Wish it got a remake like AoE II Definitive.
Love the droids, love the idea of the CIS. It is a real shame that everything got tainted by Palpatine who corrupted Dooku and the CIS Council full of corporate sleazebags. But, I guess an actually good government would harm the Sith plan.

What, first here?!
Love these droids!
