Re No officer slot: I think this could happen with the CIS. It'd be cool if they had some smaller ships that ran on AI and you could pick & choose different "Software/AI"
I'm looking forward to my first Armada game this weekend. What would you say is the motif of the 2 factions? My initial impressions are: Imperials need to think ahead, Rebels can react quicker to what's happening on the battlefield
Why do you prefer Linked Turbolaser Towers over Dual Turbolaser Turrets? The affect is essentially the same when attacking ships and they are cheaper. Personally, I feel the ability to add two dice to a single anti-squadron attack is only worth it if your opponent has a single critical squadron that you need to take out. Too situational for my taste.
The only contention I have would be Enhanced Armaments if you're running an Ackbar fleet. It's a great combo. Although, I won't say no to Linked Turbolaser Tower

I played a game with a MC75, I had fire control teams with heavy ion replacements and ACM's, I got 2 turns in a row with a blue and black crit, shields basically disappeared across 2 turns and started taking heavy damage! That was brilliantly satisfying! I pretty much agree with your list tbh, great content it's always great to see armada stuff!
Personally I dislike Darth Vader Officer. I generally dislike random elements in games so I only play lists where I have guaranteed rerolls on all attacks. But Vader Officer only lets you reroll once per ship per game. So in my opinion he is one of the worst Officers in the game but I can see how people might like him. But I think Pryce is hands down a lot better than Officer Vader in that slot. I don't think ECM is to overpowered. I think Accs are to strong. Just think about it: Imagine a ship without ECMs and you attack it with an ISD. Any normal die can at best be 2 damage. An acc that blocks a brace can potentially be worth up to 7 damage (more like 4 on an average roll) in a single die. That is a way to big swing for a single die. Accs with the current defence system of the game are way to strong, thus necessitating ECMs on valuable ships. I love the Superheavy Composite Beam Turbolaser. It is really cool, but I think the range reduction makes it actually worse than Orbital Bombardment Particle Cannons. As I said early, hating rng in games, so leading shots is the Ion upgrade of my choice, but HIE is a close second. I don't think there is a best Turbolaser upgrade. The slot is more than every other slot way to dependent on the situation. Other than that I agree with you!
Vader is not once per ship, he’s once per card trash, don’t forget he can also choke your commander, so twice on a Cymoon for example, or maybe you have an SSD with 3 officers?
@@Crabbok Yes, you are technically correct, the best kind of correct. The thing is, usually I like to keep my commander because usually they are worth more than a single reroll and the SSD usually really needs all of those officers. So while technically you could in some very specific circumstances reroll more than once per ship with him, in practice this rarely makes sense.

I like that you are doing this! Rankings would be great too, at least in the smaller upgrade groups. It would take too long to rank the officers. Maybe top 5/bottom 5?
Additionally, I agree with the ECM judgement, it has become such a staple that I have been trying to *not* use it simply because I am fed up lol, I'd much rather take something a little more fun to use lol.

But like, I know ECM is good, but it only saves you from 1 attack, because it's an exhaust.
I thought that Darth Vader made sense, but I can't help myself, I love Minister Tua so much I use her in every battle!

I get that - but in practice , the ability to sac that commander for a game-sinning refill has saved my butt multiple times.

I don't think I ever take an MC80 without Strategic.

ECM is an exhaust, though. So you could still get hammered by another ship
