Glad to see more Armada content, love that you are doing starter builds to get more people playing and trying a lot of different ship types and flying styles.
I've been waiting to get into Armada (mainly financial reasons) but I just found a starter box for $40 so I'm thinking it is time!
Just be patient and watch every ship weekly (if not daily) and you will get good deals. Id buy the quasar carrier for $27 before it goes up to $50+ again

Hello,Good day. Checking on just basic starter things in General okay ,that cool star wars Armada.
I appreciate how you set something up that allows the player to try different mechanics within a single list then tailor to how they want to progress in the future. It made it a 'beginner list build' that as easier to grasp.
I was able to buy someone's collection of ships on ebay and I went from having no ships to almost all of them. I just need a few more like the starhawk and the SSD along with some fighters. I'm so excited for clone wars era ships. Keep making these helpful videos man! They're really really helpful to new players like me. And honestly I think you're going to get a lot of new players once clone wars ships are available
Thanks for coming up with these cool introductory builds, Crabbok! I've always struggled to come up with simplistic builds for my friends who aren't familiar with the game.
This is eerily similar to my starter Rebel build when i was knew to the game. To preface, I am an Imperial player, but when i was getting into the game I was bargain hunting and all I had was a single Gladiator. I found a Core Set on Ebay for a very affordable price and the seller even added in an extra "Star Destroyer"! The Emperor was very pleased!
I looked at the pictures, didn't really know what I was looking at but everything looked like it was there, and so i bought it.
When the package finally arrived I was in for a HUGE surprise.
The extra "Star Destroyer" was a second Gladiator! (an early favorite of mine) And the gift just kept on giving. Inside the alleged starter was also a second Nebulon, a second CR-90, and an Assault Frigate. Oh... and a Imp Squadron 2 pack... still shocked at how generous this person on E-Bay was... I guess they were just trying to get out of Armada or something.
But now... being an Imperial Player, I had 3 ships! That I could actually field as a 400 point fleet with my fighters. And yet, I was now in ownership of FIVE Rebel ships. However, I fell in love with Mon Mothma, and only very recently realized what a powerhouse Dodonna is.
TL:DR - Wanted to be an Empire player to play with space-triangles, but became a rebel player instead. (for a bit, lol)

I've been planning on getting into Armada for years. Bought the starter kit and the Mc80 but never actually played. This video may of pushed me over the edge to get me playing
I'm feeling a little better about Armada access as yesterday at my local game store I was able to buy the last Imperial Starfighter pack that I need to have individual squadrons for my entire Imperial and Rebel fleet capacity. They had a couple extras as well as Rebel Starfighter packs too.
Even though I've had Armada for a while, I haven't been able to play a proper 6x3 game. Hopefully that will change soon. This is a great resource for starting out.

Hey Crabbok, being a new player, I really like you doing these fleet builds. If you could maybe consider making a new fleet video (and not necessarily for beginners only) like ~once a month, that'd be great!

Thanks for putting this together. Sadly still have not been able to get into Armada. Buying a new house here soon, so my disposable income is going to be scarce for a bit, so likely going to have to wait more. Still love to hear about this game which looks like a lot of fun.

I was able to get the ships you outlined in your Imp starter list without much difficulty. The ISD was hardest, but got one near MSRP. You can also buy individual upgrade cards on eBay for not too big a daylight robbery (cheaper than the expansions for sure). So not sure why you got so much flak for that Imp list? But I do get supplies are scant, so appreciate your approach to this list. Thanks!

Late to the party with this one but yeah my fleet is 3 corvettes and 2 nebs but also got Han/Dash Y-Wings and A-Wings :)

Luke commanded by Yavaris, with Dodonna as commander is nasty, able to slip Dodonna crits under your shields, it hurts.

Its absolutely insane that fantasy flight wont restock these sets. I get COVID creates an issue, but this has been a problem for well over a year! I clearly remember not being able to get imperial fighters last June. Its frustrating to see them rolling out new legion stuff but neglecting armada
I relly like this build. I think it's praticularly beginner friendly, in my experience players learn the game much faster if their ships aren't filled with upgrades.

Dodonna is a lot fun with XX 9, Ackbar is cast iron.

it would be pretty easy for ffg to make sequel armada because there are only like 3 ships per faction and they are basically remakes of the old trilogy ships.
This video was great! I was a bit critical before on your imperial video, mostly because it was called a “starter fleet”. I don’t think to be a starter it has to have only 1st or 2nd wave expansions. To me that means it includes the core set because you have to have that, and then 2-3 more expansions beyond that, so you only have to buy a small number of things to get started with a legit fleet. So I guess my question and challenge is, for a beginner, what is the best fleet you can make while buying the fewest number of expansions?
Love it. And hate it. It’s a good intro into the dreaded Reikan and Yvaris build. Ugh. Lol but gotta teach them early I suppose.
What objectives would you recommend for the list?
Dodonna bombers is probably one of the most fun things in all of armada to fly with... so evil! And if you have Norra in there too, eviler!
Interesting list that tries to introduce various game mechanics i suppose. I personnaly played only open games for begginners at the club but that list seems more ship heavy. I thought that new players temps to maximaze upgrades on their ships because they have only a few.
It would be interesting if you try out to build begginner's fleet using ships and upgrades to get a decent build wich has few ships with interesting synergising upgrades. Also i like fighters but i do not understand how to run them in huge numbers when you have only 2 or 3 ships (in addition there are not their boxes now available as i heard).
Anyway, hope that Clone War expansion will really drag me to Armada because i love this SW era so much.

Does the victory count as a star destroyer for like cymoon
Anything that has star destroyer in its name can use star destroyer upgrades like 7th fleet.
What use case are you comparing them for? The Victory and ISD have different silhouette icons, thus they can't share titles. The Cymoon and Kuat share the ISD silhouette and can thus share titles. There's a title (7th Fleet, if I remember right) that uses aurebesh letters instead of a silhouette, and that can apply to a ship card as long as it has "Star Destroyer" in the name - which leads to an interesting case for the Onager where the Test Bed can't use it but the Star Destroyer variant can.
