- Sorry day 3 is a little late at night, but it's worth it. I am so excited to bring you this amazing video of an emu hatching. This chick is a lot smaller and lighter than the first chick that hatched. I can't even tell you how happy I am to have both my eggs hatch out beautiful healthy emu chicks. This is such an amazing video to me, to watch this little chick see the world for the first time. The entire process took 15 hours. This video was edited down to four and a half minutes to show each stage of the hatch. To think that I ordered this egg on ebay and it came to me as nothing and turned into this beautiful chick is simply mind blowing.
Check back tomorrow to see both chicks meet each other for the first time.
About the emu...
The emu is the second largest bird on the planet, standing nearly 6 tall, and weighing up to 120 pounds. Emus cannot fly but they are fast runners - up to 30 mph. Surprisingly, they are also strong swimmers. Some scientists consider emus to be living dinosaurs because their bones and joints are similar to dinosaurs'. Their ability to store fat allows them to go without food for long periods of time. Emus can defend themselves with tremendously powerful forward kicks. They eat great quantities of caterpillars, grasshoppers, and masses of the burrs that tangle sheep wool, which makes them helpful to farmers.
This baby emu is absolutely adorable!
It was about 90 degrees in that room. The muscle twitching is from him stretching out and using them in new ways he never had before. It's so cool! You can handle them, but I wanted to let him hatch himself out as much as he possibly could.
camelsandfriends That was good of you, Evolution has taught it how to break out of the egg
Thanks so much for not adding music to your vids. As quiet as these are, I want to be able to hear the egg cracking and the subtle sounds going on when the little guy is coming out! :)
Every birth of all birds and animals (including humans) is such a MIRACLE!
I love how the little one peeps while emerging from the egg! So sweet!
When the claw came out I was saying 'Damn too early for another Jurassic World!'
I’m from the future and I’m telling you the Jurassic world moives are great
M _ Your a a bit late for the fallen kingdom
@@Hamburger8079 I'm from the further future and I'm telling you the sequels sucks.
@@TyrannoWright I’m from the future telling you that I made this comment like five years ago and I haven’t really seen any of the Jurassic park movies-
@@Hamburger8079 As in JW sequels. Plus dnc.
Never in my life had a youtube video made me smile, laugh, and wave my arms in happiness for 4 minutes and 30 seconds.
Awww it looks so tired after all that hatching :,)
Such a cute little dinosaur! I wish I could hug it =3
@Raphael Narciso Actually birds are modern day dinosaurs. They just look way different from what they looked like millions of years ago.
The Velociraptor hatching scene from Jurassic Park comes to mind...
I think emus and ostriches are the ones who accurately describe what a velociraptor actually looks like
Amazing how he fit in the shell. And so alert.
It's hard, exhausting work for an emu to hatch. Look forward to seeing them meet each other.
Come on now come on now there we go push push I've been here for every birth on this island
omg yes
The little goob was certainly struggling for a while there trying to get his rump out of the egg! Adorable.
Oh my god the little raptor toes look so soft ❤❤❤❤
Ohhh, I feel bad when he's bonking his head on the side like that. I wish it was soft on the sides. He's so happy to be out though!
1:33 that little shaky dinosaur foot :D I cant!!!
How is this not considered a dinosaur? Flightless birds that run on two legs just reminds me of dinosaurs.
New life, It never ceases to amaze me! Beautiful!
Now I can add Emu birth to the list of births I've seen, amazing!
Yay!!!!! Im the first to see him! Congrats and hope to see them emu-ing around soon!
Emu's are frickin awesome
Damn, how did that big ass bird come out of that tiny little egg.
+jzizzles I just don't know. :)
Amazing coloured eggs and what adorable babies .. awwww
Wow, that's hard work! This little one has a lot of determination!
It looks cold with all of that shivering!
Probably much warmer in the shell.
I love your videos, keep them coming!
This wee one is going to be the lil character me thinks! xx
Every time when somebody tells me that they don't believe in evolution and that dinosaurs did not evolve into Birds, I just show them this video.
I'm agnostic and don't really give a fuck about evolution either since I won't be around long enough to observe, but I still feel I must ask, what does this have anything to do with that? Eggs are not exclusive to dinosaurs and birds, so I don't see how that would be convincing.
DrewPicklesTheDark not just eggs. As an embryo, many birds have dinosaur hands, that fuse together later on in development. They have a wishbone, exclusive only to birds and dinosaurs. They have feathers, which many dinosaurs are confirmed to have.
AND HAVE U SEEN THEM FEETSIES!!
@@DrewPicklesTheDark What does it matter that you are an agnostic? Evolution is a scientific fact and not a matter of faith. The connection between birds and dinosaurs has been known for more than a century, with newer fossils and in the last few decades it has definitely been confirmed that birds are dinosaurs (including the fact that only bird and dinosaur eggs have a hard shell).
@@ExtremeMadnessX I only announce that I'm agnostic as many people have a black and white view of the debate, thinking you are either a religious nut, or die-hard science follower.
@@arrowsaurus7561 Don't forget the main link between non-avian theropod dinosaurs and avian dinosaurs, a link which only they share: feathers 😊
I agree. Couldn't think of a better person to get them.
lol that chick be like "I am DONE with this flippin' Egg!!!"
So cute!!
Thank you
Amazing!!
i love stuff like this...
I imagine this one is going to be quite the riot when (s)he gets older.
Welcome to the world, little one.
we have a pair themale just began sitting on eight eggs they are good watch dogs everyone is afrid of them and should be but I hug them and they come running and they are very friendly because we love them
I won them on ebay. They were shipped in the mail to me. :)
I imagine she lives in California. I ordered these eggs on ebay and had them shipped to me. I incubated them for 54 days, turning them 6 times a day every day until they hatched.
im new to your channel and im loving it!!! i plan to follow along on all of their journeys and watch them grow! :D adorable!!!
Thank you. I am very glad you enjoy my videos.
o so cute!
Miracle.
Que coisa linda !!!!
Eu tenho emus
Around 1:30-- love the little feet grabbing hold of the shell.
He's sooooooooo cute
sehr schönes Video
Sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo cuuuuuuuute!
NICE
so cute
So cute its a emu emus can't fly
miracle of life thks
AWE!!!!
You're very welcome. Yes, it was really hard to just sit there and watch him struggle, but in the end I knew it was best to make sure he came out strong. At the very end I did break away a tiny bit, so he was able to lift his chest out. He was really stuck!
I hope you film them first meeting!
Not yet. I'm going to give a chick to my roommate to say thank you for always helping me out with the animals, so she'll be naming one of them.
Awww his Yoda little feet
So darn cute his butt is stuck awe
No, they aren't helped. The father is the one to look after the eggs, too. :)
I don't know the whole story so I'm asking, where is the mom? Really amazing to watch.
I'm seven years late but-
Emu moms usually aren't the one to watch the egg, it's actually the dad emu's role
So Beautiful 😀😀😀🤣🤣
birth, death and everything in between is a struggle
Omg! Most Bird Species. Hicks are ugly when they first hatch, but Emu's are so cute!! Look at it's little feet! 😍
Cute
Little feet? Monster feet for such a tiny thing, cute though.
YAY! I know it goes without saying, but take care of the little one T_T I hope he does alright.
*FIFTEEN HOURS?*
Egg: Matte black egg of doom
Contents: Muppet
It's ALIVE
What kind of food need to be given for newly hatched ????any please.......
Mammal babies really have it easier than chicks. We don't have to break through a hard shell and do everything ourselves, our mothers do the work for us. And our females also have breasts, which is both a delight for babies _and_ their fathers. Damn, am I glad to be a mammal 😊
What kind of incubator did you use?
You can buy animals on ebay?!? lol, wth! Beautiful chick.
If my foot were behind my head I migh make a bit more of an effort to get out :) Glad they're healthy & happy...good Mom :)
Check back tomorrow for Day 4. After this emu dries off the incubator I can introduce him to his big sister. :)
these birds could probably become naturalized in southern california. in fact the peacock has been living wild in Los Angeles basin since the turn of the century. maybe not in the high desert though. I don't know if you know this but there was a new species of north american wild cat recently discovered right near where you live. I discovered some colonies of them same time they did but they think it's based in your area which actually it isn't. they named it the mojave spotted cat. very rare
Hatchimals live action haha
Seriously though, the Australian army lost a war against emus. What kind of beasts are these???
woahhh 15 hours is a long time!
What happens if you try to help them out of the egg?
that is big thick ass egg!!! poor baby!
Lol if u want to talk about thick eggs...u might wanna take a look at the ostrich egg XD
If these eggs were to hatch in the wild, is it typical for the mother to help them out of their eggs? Or do they just kind of do it by themselves?
Where do you get those eggs?
The egg looks really uncomfortable. No wonder he (she?) is in so much of a hurry to get out!
The emu was doing next level yoga XD I mean srsly it's head was next to its foot and it looked weird XD
You can't buy birds, but you can buy eggs (which may or may not be fertile).
No, I don't think it would be good to get them wet right after they're born. They need to be kept warm to dry off from the material inside the egg.
Omg
poggers!
Poops!
Emus are beautiful!
Yeah, emus are great!
Emus are magical,
just look at his pretty little face!
THEY WILL EAT YOU IN YOUR SLEEP!
THEY WILL BITE OFF YOUR FACE!
WITH THEIR DINOSAUR BEAKS!
THEY WILL RIP OUT YOUR EYES
EVERY TIME YOU CRY
"OH NO, EMU! PLEASE DON'T RIP OUT MY EYES!"
HA HA HA! THEY BE LAUGHING AT YOU!
DON'T EVER UNDERESTIMATE A FREAKING EMU!
Emus are beautiful...
But seriously, this is adorable! I just want to pet it!
Oliver age 24 bro!
Jax Craft lol that is on my bucket list to write that for LA as a poem XD
Jaxon the Okay I love that song
Jaxon the Okay what if it a girl?
What species is this it's an emu
you bred emus?
*nods
It's species is emu xD
Tiny dinosaur 🦕 😂😂
that’s a weird looking dog
:53 ❤ precious life
That egg is black?
It's very dark green.
Where are the parents?..
Can you touch them when they're that young? poor lil guy looked chilly :c
Wow, I never knew emu eggs were black.
It is dyed. Or maybe they lay black and white eggs, I dunno.
AHHHH
this is cute but I must say that it is sad the struggle it is having but it is very bad to interfere with nature
Mitchell Mammel. the momma would have kept talking to him and held the shell from rolling and helped if needed. these guys are jerks. my not so humble opinion.
Humans have to go through this too and the womb, that is just as hard. Humans are also slimy when they are birthed.
I want one can i have one
Ayanna Gaskins it's hard to take care off
Where can i get one~!?
Check your local Craigslist for babies right now. This is the time where you can find one. Eggs are also currently available on ebay to hatch yourself.
camelsandfriends you can buy emu eggs on eBay really are they expensive :0
Emu's are my spirit animal, you made my day, I am going to looping this. :P
jurassic park
is there like a golden rule that you can't help them and if so why is that?
its so they can build up strength on their own
