    I’m just blown away by your beautiful piece of wood/resin it’s stunning 😍 You must feel like the journey has begun on mixing up different things to create something new. I feel blessed to have seen it and I’d love to buy a piece of your work if you sell them. I’m watching from the United Kingdom as I’ve been having chemotherapy treatment throughout the pandemic however, I’m coming back to America soon as apart from politics I miss her dearly. Thank you so much 😊 💕💫

    Kim I really love to watch your videos. It seems that when you say that whatever you’re turning has some difficulty to it , it always ends up looking beautiful and that you completed it with no difficulty at all. Keep up the beautiful work.

    Thanks Kim. “The longer it sits the more it chips”. I was wondering why my piece was chipping. I’ve heard that you should allow up to 7 days for a full cure. I guess maybe I need to experiment. I always learn something from your journey.

    That's a stunning piece Kim and thanks for the tip about the eraser I've not heard that one before.

      Welcome! Make sure it is a stiff eraser. The soft ones just fall apart.
      Thank you!!

    Very nice piece ...I believe the wobble comes from the jaws..If you watch metal lathe vids with 4 jaw chucks. They have to center the piece in the jaws. we dont have that adjustment .. My wobble is different with every piece I do...sometimes I get it right on the money , and no wobble... Good luck with the new head stock.. P.S your killing me with the flip flops.. lol

    • @KimTippin
      @KimTippin  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks Steve! Yes I have two novas and they have a little of their own wobble. Wirh th new headstock, it is WAY less. PTL!
      Shhhhh. Don't get me in trouble! lol 😉😎😉

    God Bless You too Kim!!! Com’ on, gold does come from wood. Especially this week with these horrible temperatures that were enduring; its that wonderful shade from the trees that I’m referring to. Lol. Thanks for another educational video.

    Kim, your work is amazing. Once again you show us that our only limitation is our imagination. While watching your video containing your use of a pressure pot I was wondering if you use a vacuum pot to stabilize your material prior to casting? Keep letting your imagination run wild. God Bless.

    One last question! Why would you NOT use a Forstner bit to drill out the center as opposed to using tools to hollow everything out? 15:00

    • @KimTippin
      @KimTippin  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Back when I turned this I didn't have any forster bits. otherwise I would most definitely do that. :)

      @@KimTippin oh ok. Good answer! lol I'm new to woodturning and a forstner bit seems like something that would save a lot of time.

    Kim, I am about to upgrade my lathe now and every single person I have spoke to with a Laguna has told me about a wobble in it? I like the Laguna products, but from all that I have seen, the Jet 1221VS just may be the way for me to go. Hope yours gets worked out. That bowl, very nice.

    Do you have multiple cameras, or just the one that you move as needed? This is an excellent view since we can see tool angle and your specific technique. I love watching you turn, and your running commentary is pleasant to learn from.
