      If i’m assuming you think will levis is going to go higher, why? Isn’t richardson better in every way, Age, Speed, Arm Strength, Pocket Presence, etc. They’re both projects so why would a team go with the lesser of the two when it comes to raw talent that you can’t teach?

    i never played football until my last 2 years of HS, the first time i got in there as a defensive end, i could feel where the ball was just on the movement of the line, i made at least 5 tackles where i didnt' see who had the ball on pure instinct. football teams truly move as a unit

He came to BYU from ghana as a sophomore and played defensive end as well. He had a ridiculous feel for the game and actually ended up going 5th overall to the Lions. Most people train their whole lives to play higher level football and will never make it to that higher level because they just don’t have a good enough feel for the game. To play football at the highest level, it simply just has to he in your dna. Sorry for the ramble lol.

  • @jmg999

    Young was far and away the best QB in this class. Stroud and Richardson weren't even in the same Universe as him. Young had skills and knowledge that neither Stroud nor Richardson possessed, and he did it at a higher level than either of them, playing against better competition than Stroud did. Richardson was an athletic freak, but he wasn not a QB. While his athletic prowess impressed at the Combine, his ball placement in throwing drills was still subpar. And, even though some teams praised him for his ability to assess defensive reactions to Florida's passing concepts during whiteboard sessions, the offense he played in was commensurate to his abilities, experience, and knowledge of the game; very basic. It was a lot of single-read concepts that wouldn't play for long in the League. Young, on the other hand, had a high-level understanding of complex concepts. And remember, Bill O'Brien was his OC, an NFL coordinator who didn't ease up on the play-calling. You repeatedly showed that he was the best QB in the this class.

  • @furiogiunta7886

    When I see small QBs, I'm not really concerned with them being able to see "over the line", I'm more concerned if they can handle the NFL physically without getting injured from the shots they will take from the defense. Any QB I've ever talked to about "seeing over the line" have always down played it and said things like "you see through the gaps in the line" or " unless you are 6'6" or 6'7", you are not seeing over linemen anyway." This kid looks like he can play the game of football damn well, if I'm a GM I would not let his height deter me from drafting him. Everybody said the same about Brees when he was lighting it up at Purdue, and left him undrafted until the 2nd round, big mistakes made there.

The video seems kinda eager to dismiss him and write him off, when his biggest issue is that he got hurt, not that he fell off, or was never good.

    Panther fan here, and i'd rather have Stroud TBH. I do think Young has that "it" factor, and he passes the eye test... but my concern is size. Size does matter in the nfl, we rarely see small QB's have long careers which is why we can name pretty much all of them... from doug flutie, to drew brees, to russell Wilson.
    Most small QB's get hurt like an RG3 or a Kyler Murray. I do think Young throws it better than them, but how much can a 200 lb body handle getting hit 10-20x a game? We just saw Cam Newton get beat on so much that he couldnt even throw the ball anymore basically... can Young take that kind of NFL beating? Stroud is bigger, stronger, thicker, and he throws the ball effortlessly

    I think the Ringer’s Benjamin Solak put my concerns over Bryce Young into (paraphrased because I can’t remember the exact quote) words best:
    “Is it entirely possible that you draft Bryce Young and he looks like the best QB in this draft class two years in? Absolutely, but the accumulation of hits on his historically small frame worries me for the longevity of his career.”

    • @AlexRollinsNFL
      @AlexRollinsNFL  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yeah that's a good way to put it. I didn't dive too much into it, just threw a little "if he stays healthy" at the end, but it's definitely a big concern. This video just focused on his height and why I'm not worried about it, the weight is imo more worrisome

    • @dabbingtoast7743
      @dabbingtoast7743 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@AlexRollinsNFL Came into the combine at 204 after just packing weight for like 2 months straight, of which he’s gonna shed 10-20 pounds to get back to playing weight? Those are Kyler Murray numbers and we’ve seen Kyler’s body fail him 3 seasons in a row now. Sure Young is an infinitely better QB than Murray and won’t rely on his legs as much but I just don’t see him making it in a league where he’s gonna be getting hit by dudes 50-100 pounds heavier than he is.

    • @t4d0W
      @t4d0W ปีที่แล้ว

      @@dabbingtoast7743 If that is the case then it is still a better investment to find a dynamo of a pocket QB at under 6 feet whose overall build/durability may cut his overall career by 30. Than say whiffing on an toolsy athletic QB whose 6'4 220 lbs who is as much a risk to sign to a 2nd contract. Besides if NFL trends for trying to hit on SB windows are true, its to get that great QB (a tier below Mahomes) and get all the help to push the offense to the limits before the conversation of a 2nd contract comes through. Doug Flutie was in the league for 12 years but only played 4 of those being a starter for over 9 games. Yet people with their rosy memory think he was 'good' for a small QB. He was acceptable as a back up but the kind of guy you don't win starting games with.
