Many closed media consoles don't have a method to allow electronics to cool off. Something very important to keep in mind when enclosing anything electronic is that electronics create a ton of heat. Because they create a ton of heat, you can shorten the lives of the electronics or even start a fire. Try to hide electronics in ways that allow them plenty of room to breathe and remove heat.

"Acorns" are historic fine furniture embellishments, they are characteristic of Shaker. I once bought chair for someone for gift with acorn on top of ladder back and discovered it was Shaker before gifting it. I still have it, 50 years later, lol ❣️ I love the basket too, great impulse buy, verifies good taste.
Love your energy in this video! I think the speed with which you did it, let you be as funny and silly and irreverent as you like to be. I dunno. It just seems like you are naturally risking more and that the inner critic has left the room with an encouraging nod to your authentic self! Any way, bravo!
I have the 3 by 4 large kallax. I just bought the new blue doors to put 3 across on the top to hide away my purse and my husbands stuff. The new doors look so nice and has elevated the look of the kallax it self and our mudroom. On the bottom I use the black boxes to hide my children’s shoes.
When we renovated our two bathrooms, instead of the traditional medicine cabinet, we modified large kitchen cabinets (two per bathroom) to fill the spaces between the studs, installed mirrors on the cabinet doors and called it a day. They may be more shallow than regular kitchen cabinets, but given the large size, they work beautifully in both spaces, hold all our things and, what I love the most, are totally unexpected!🎉🎉
As a Swede Nick is completetly right! We don’t care about his pronounciation! I love hearing english speaking people trying to say IKEA names. The result is nearly always unrecognisable and very cute! ❤
I love Nick's pronunciation and very thankful for the practical advice he provides on all the options that are available at Ikea. 'Cause some of us don't want to wander through all the aisles & the chaos 🥵🥵 This provides me with just enough options. I'm in & out of the store in minutes. And I'm smiling throughout bc I giggle at how to pronounce all the Swedish items! 🤣
I was so glad that you mentioned using the tins in your bathroom. I have been using Photo boxes for years, but I could see that the tins are a better choice. Thank you so much!
So funfact, ikea follows a pretty rigid naming convention meaning you can figure out roughly what each item's name means just from what it is. The relevant categories for this video are: Bookcases and other office items - Professions and Scandinavian boy’s names. Like Helmer Boxes, general storage and wall decoration - Unusual Swedish expressions and Swedish place names. Like Plogfåra(the little ditches created when tilling a field), Harvmatta(a carpet of chain link fence pulled behind a tracktor to even out gravel or remove moss, etc.), Hönsnät(chicken wire mesh), Dammäng(a field which has been artificially flooded in order to produce hay, a very old outdated practice) Mjölkkanna(an old-timey metal milk jug) and Fryksås(a place) Bedroom and living room furniture - Norwegian places. Like Mjösa and Tonstad Bathroom items - Names of Swedish lakes and bodies of water. Like Visslaån, Blecksjön and Ljungan
Thanks for the explanation and photos of wood, veneers, and effects. Simple. I also like the cream tins for storage these will be very durable I'd say. Cheers from Australia
Nick, super entertaining video! I love Ikea for some things. They are almost basic and classic but there is usually a slight difference, sometimes I love it and other times I don't. But I was highly entertained with your commentary.
Thanks for a really helpful video ! Lots of good stuff here. Sometimes the Ikea store is just so overwhelming and it is great to have you highlight pieces that you particularly like that I can then go to the store to look for knowing what I'm looking for.
Love the ljungan! I also picked mine up to store earrings/bracelets/trinkety bits on my bathroom counter. So glad I made that impulse buy, also🙏🏼 thank you for another video🫶🏼
Assorted crap!🤣. I needed this so much….my youngest is heading to college and I’ve been lamenting. When I’m lamenting nothing makes me happier than declutterring and reorganizing the house. And Nick, you are a bright spot in my week! Thanks.
Nick: you can make a medicine cabinet in your bathroom by having it put in between the studs. You can also have one built and install it on the wall over the toilet which is usually just wasted space anyway. I've done both.
Combine both concepts and get a cabinet over the cistern that is deep enough to hold a couple of bulk packs of toilet paper and still doesn't stick out far enough to be a problem.
10:43 LOVE these! As an artist i cant stand when there are little gaps and things fall between the contaiers and such. I have several sets. I put various things n them like paints, washi tapes, pencils, push pins. Ive even made one a little sweets holder. I finally went to Ikea (and Daiso). Sooo happy I did! Everything is now super-organized, looks coordinated, neat, and clean!
Ikea furniture is very hit-miss. But for organizing and cloth items like dish towels, toss pillows etc. Ikea is amazing value in my opinion.
Never have I enjoyed listening about organization more than I do now! 😂😂😂 u crack me up!
Love the Helmer. Thanks for highlighting it. The yellow is actually perfect for my house, and it's exactly what I've been needing. You always showcase something really useful for me. Thanks, Nick!
Getting to see Nick shop his new home , exciting 🎉
"Im trying my best here ... I'm not really" lol my life's motto. 1st time watching a video of yours, and I gotta say I really like you. Love your wit and content.
I’ve never watched any of your other videos. Have no idea what your channel is about, but I’m subscribing based off this video alone. You’re hilarious, I love your energy, and I need more of you in my life, no matter what you’re talking about! ❤
Yesss, Nick just approved my new nightstand! (As still in my car trunk new).
You just made my week!
There's nothing better than a man that can make me laugh out loud!
❤ You Nick 😉
I'm BEGGING you to bring back the non-working wall clock you had before. It was a vibe and I miss it.
I miss it, too! Could you put it back until you broadcast from your new home, please? It looks rather bleak now…😢
@@lleocttx2326That IS the new home! You’ll note the kitchen table is not in the background. But I seriously keep thinking it’s the old place too and I miss the clock, as silly as that might be. Everything else is the exact same, except that. 😂
@@Jordan-ts5ji Oh, didn’t realize that! OK, we’ll do just fine without the table, but I think we’d all be happier, including Mr. Clock, if he were restored to his rightful place
@@Jordan-ts5jiThe wall leading out of the living room is wider ...

New House Nick is the vibe I'm bringing into fall. I never would have considered those metal tins to be cool before this. I like them!
I’d love to see an IKEA walkthrough with Nick and Eden - would be fun to see reactions to new items, etc!
Yes! I'm team medicine cabinet! Especially in the master/main bathroom.
There are plenty of things in The Container Store that are not expensive, and for organization you can great storage-y stuff. Definitely worth a look!
Thanks for the guidance. I sometimes have trouble telling "Cute" from "Divorced Dad Sad" when I'm at IKEA.
Oh no, is that a term that people are using?
i looove the Dammäng. I have the biggest for my laundry and the slim design just fits so perfectly in a nook. It holds exactly one load.
Where is our clock?! Dig through those boxes, Nick! I can't focus on this wonderful content without the clock.
Be nice, he's be very honest about how completely unhandy he is.
@@paulaclark6290✌❤ We're actually just teasing him!🙂❤ Nick is a gem, I love his channel and his personality❤ (yes even without the clock🤭)!
Quoting Nick, “ I just moved in, leave me alone. “ 😂
😂😂😂…right, each time I watch I’m looking for it
Maybe he left it….it was broken. I don’t care…..I want it back!!
Can I just say how much I love you! You always make me laugh. You are perfect!
I love Office furniture as home decor. Those file cabinets are perfect!
They could be great bedside tables
Greetings from Göteborg. I totally enjoy your Swedish pronunciation. Keep it up Nick
'Cause some of us don't want to wander through all the aisles & the chaos 🥵🥵
This provides me with just enough options. I'm in & out of the store in minutes. And I'm smiling throughout bc I giggle at how to pronounce all the Swedish items! 🤣
Your blunt honesty is always appreciated. 😂 Also, the facial hair looks so great on you!!!
Love the tins, especially with the cork tops. I am moving back on my houseboat so staying stable is vital.
I agree. The cork tops look are genius.
I was so glad that you mentioned using the tins in your bathroom. I have been using Photo boxes for years, but I could see that the tins are a better choice. Thank you so much!
I totally have those cosmetics products that I’ll come back to in a few years lol
So funfact, ikea follows a pretty rigid naming convention meaning you can figure out roughly what each item's name means just from what it is. The relevant categories for this video are:
Bookcases and other office items - Professions and Scandinavian boy’s names. Like Helmer
Boxes, general storage and wall decoration - Unusual Swedish expressions and Swedish place names. Like Plogfåra(the little ditches created when tilling a field), Harvmatta(a carpet of chain link fence pulled behind a tracktor to even out gravel or remove moss, etc.), Hönsnät(chicken wire mesh), Dammäng(a field which has been artificially flooded in order to produce hay, a very old outdated practice) Mjölkkanna(an old-timey metal milk jug) and Fryksås(a place)
Bedroom and living room furniture - Norwegian places. Like Mjösa and Tonstad
Bathroom items - Names of Swedish lakes and bodies of water.
I use the dammang to hold fresh hay and kibble for my rabbits - so versatile and doesn't look ugly even in my dining room.
Thanks for a really helpful video !
Lots of good stuff here. Sometimes the Ikea store is just so overwhelming and it is great to have you highlight pieces that you particularly like that I can then go to the store to look for knowing what I'm looking for.
that's a cute R2D2 laundry bin!
I just love your videos, Nick. You just make me smile every time I watch. Thanks the giggles with solid design advice 🫶🏼
Look at all of the tins and woven items! I really haven't been excited about IKEA for the last couple decades but now I am! Well done Nick!
I watch for the tips, but mostly for Nick’s snappy, good-natured delivery. 😂
Still rocking that beard! Looking awesome Nick! Love your channel, can't wait each Saturday. Love from Memphis, TN!~
That was excellent ! The sass- style attitude 👍🍿- keep it coming.
Omg cute filing cabinet❤. Ne er use for paper. Bathroom. In clostes 4 assesories. Spices, tea towels. Bathrooms stuff.
Love the ljungan! I also picked mine up to store earrings/bracelets/trinkety bits on my bathroom counter. So glad I made that impulse buy, also🙏🏼 thank you for another video🫶🏼
Congrats on your new home Nick 🏡 Can’t wait to see how you transform your space ♥️🇨🇦
I agree about the medicine cabinet. I plan on adding 2 when I redo my primary bath.
Ooh, love your new standing lamp. Very organic modern.
Do we know what lamp this is?
@@DirgesInTheDark We haven't been introduced.
I know I've seen the shade before, but not on this channel.
10:43 LOVE these! As an artist i cant stand when there are little gaps and things fall between the contaiers and such. I have several sets. I put various things n them like paints, washi tapes, pencils, push pins. Ive even made one a little sweets holder. They fit perfectly in the alex system from ikea but they also look adorable stacked on shelves.
