I have the Nordlii storage bed in our guest bedroom. We always get so many compliments on it. My sister loved it so much, she purchased it for her Los Angeles home.
Our family NEVER skips the meatballs! Thanks for the correct pronunciation for “Bestoh” and “Yettboo,” I’ve been eyeing that sofa for soo long and the extra storage is such a bonus! Love your content 🤟🏼
Ikea seated furniture looks great but does not hold up over time. Great for Instagram, not great for living. That said, we have had Billy bookcases with glass doors for over 25 years. They still look great and we continue to get compliments on them.
There is a lot of snobbery about IKEA, but their kitchens have a 25 year warranty. I just don't understand why people are spending $50,000 plus on "custom" cabinetry.
@@eattherich9215 I agree entirely! I've had my Ikea kitchen for over 14 years, and it's still looking great. I looked at many kitchens, but nothing compares for quality/price!
I have those wafer towels hanging in my porch to dry my dog off!! I was getting so sick of looking at ratty old towels as soon as I walk in the door! They’re great, looks like a blanket and doesn’t take up too much room in the washing machine!
The Karlby is at a new low price in Australia of $329 down from $369. 😫 IKEA is high end down here these days compared to other Countries. We need more competition! Thank you, great video! X
True. In Australia, not all Ikea item is cheap compared to Australia made. After comparing sofa and mattress prices in Ikea, I decided to order my sofa at a local Supreme furniture store. The total costs of my sofa is similar/ slightly cheaper than Ikea but it definitely looks more stylist, higher quality and more beautiful fabric (10+ colour choices), 10yrs warranty on frame, 5 yrs warranty on cushions, fabric protector spray with 2yrs warranty, custom made dimensions fitted to my living space, and plus made in Australia! My mattres is also a quality one made in Sydney and the maker can adjust the firm/ soft levels to my likings. 3 years aleady but they are both like brand new (I do use sofa cover and mattress waterproof protector bc I expect them to last 15 yrs 😅)
I fell in love with Ikea’s Hemnes range. I have the bed, the tv stand, a few bookshelves and a slim shelving system in my bathroom. Over the years, I’ve had the Ektorp sofa, the Kivik sofa and any number of Toftbo mats for the kitchen, bathroom and toilet floors. But, the sofas don’t stand up to wear and tear. I’ve had both my sofas absolutely destroyed by ex partner (a very tall, big guy) and my adult son (same build). I told those boys incessantly to not launch themselves onto the sofas like they’re descending from a great height. Just sit down on the thing normally. Alas, all my yelling fell on deaf ears. The ex is gone but my son still lives with me. So I bought 2 tub chairs from the thrift store and that’s all we have for seating. I won’t be buying a new sofa until I move into my own home. By myself.
The tricky part is the Å (å), Ä (ä) and Ö (ö) letters we have in Swedish. They look similar to A and O but are pronounced very differently. To then make it more complex, they ofc have a short and a long version, depending on which word they are used in. Vivian will ofc have a much better way to do this if she does a video, but here is a shortish guide. Å = It's pronounced like "aug" in the word Caught or "oug" in Fought. Or alternatively like you would say "Or" without the "r". Ä = Like the "e" in Bed. " Ö = This one is a bit trickier. It's a bit smilar to the U in "Burn". That is the best I can come up with :P Hope this helps!
The sofa is stunning in person. I truly understand why Nate used it. If it came in a color way that went with my decor I would have purchased it as well. For those who’ve claimed IKEA seating doesn’t last it’s true I’ve had a Kivik for over a decade. It’s a sturdy as it was day one.
Hi Vivian! I’m always so happy to see you upload.. Thank you for being a great teacher, you make it easier to understand, I just love your videos! 😊💜👏👏👏👏👏👏
I'd rather take your advice than follow Studio McPee. I don't like her designs. Those open shelf kitchens will wear out their welcomes fast. Everything is out in the open, and must be kept neat. Dust, cooking oil, bugs will get in and on everything. Don't do it! Thank you, Viv.
Great video! Love your subtle snark😏 I hope it was snark🤔 My husband is German He had an issue with your pronunciation of Düsseldorf - those umlauts are a doozie 😉
@1:54, I like the green but the cords should be closer together for a true upmarket appearance. I'm going for a full revamp of my living room next year and will be taking a closer look at some of the better quality offerings from IKEA.
Now i like you even more when i found out that your husband is Swedish :) only thing thats missing now is that you design a piece and incorporate ö in the name of it :)
Don't care how the cord sofa pronounced, Question remains, is the sofa COMFY?! 😂 I can vouch for the Farlov, very very comfy and love the single long seat cushion. Far more important to have things that feel good rather than just look good❤
When I think of Luxury I don't think of particle board. If I could afford a luxury interior designer and they mentioned buying particle board I'm probably going to part ways with them. But for the I'm struggling to look rich brand sure I'm fine with IKEA as you know most of that won't hold up too well after a few years and it's not exactly comfortable but doable.
Everything I've bought from Ikea has fallen apart within two years. Their plants were awful, too! I bought two, and both had a terrible infestation of gnats. I had to throw them out because nothing worked to get rid of the pests. Honestly, I'm only watching this video to support your channel. And if I'm paying a designer to design my home, they better not be using Ikea furniture!
The fact that people fail to anchor their dressers is no fault of Ikea. They literally hand people the things they need and instructions on how to do it. What about dressers that aren't from ikea?... they also fall over.
Feeling 'uninspired' in your 'space' is no excuse for spending thousands on new appliances, cupboards, backsplashes and countertops. You're not Picasso and you're not cooking gourmet meals there, give us a break.

years ago I had an ektorp sofa for over 5 years and it held up great, so it probably depends which sofa !
I agree. Everything I've ever bought from Ikea has fallen apart within two years.
@@PoshPennies Stockholm series is the way to go, really good. Have had them in more itenirations. Longest one is still going after roughly 14 years.
The Swede here loved the swedish lesson.
Bra jobbat! 👏🏻
So many great ideas! I am using Ikea cabinets for my kitchen. They are the best 🤩

@@honeychan87So why are Australian kitchens so much more expensive than IKEA?

I appreciate the pronunciations!
I've always loved Malm.
Luv your vids but I wish you used more small, European sized room examples.
Omg - your husband is Swedish!? PLEASE do a video explaining how to pronounce all of Ikea’s popular lines. We’re all lost out here!
haha I love this 😀
I second the motion

Excellent creative approach. Not like everyone else does, thank you.
Love the Ikea desk we have in our home office... very traditional and sturdy. Can't remember the name at the moment.

I always go for Ikeas chicken meatballs! 😋 Their kitchens are super. But BESTÅ is compressed carton and fall apart pretty soon. 😮
Love this, thank you! Also, do you have a link to your necklace? It's lovely :)
You're missing out on those meatballs, tho. I myself prefer the plant balls. I shop the frozen section and take bags and bags home!

The malm series is a great affordable bedroom furniture but it is hard to find now.

The Oftast dinnerware is great.

I'll sit on it just for you next time I go to ikea and I'll let you know 😂
How about having both ? Comfy & good looking are not mutually exclusive.

I purchased a malm bed waaay back in 1981 😝
Ikea meatballs are great.
you're biased ! 🇸🇪 🤣
I think those cauliflower potato medallions are even greater than meatballs. They don't get enough praise😂

Exactly! After anchoring them, how about teaching your kids NOT to climb all over the furniture?
at 1:11: to me the before looks so much better than the after
oh the irony: in Sweden the SALVIKEN bath towel is discontinued long time ago, and there is no alternative
nooooooooo !
The sofa at 2:07 looks really uncomfortable. It has no back support. The back is so low. 🙄
👍
That ikea sofa looks super uncomfortable

Children hurt or even killed by IKEA MALM is not exactly problem of IKEA but unfortunately absolutely dysfunctional parents.
yes, they didn´t follow the instructions to make it 100% safe.
I hate IKEA. I’d never allow any items from them into my home.
you're missing out!
WHAT IS THIS LOOK? TWIGGY IN THE 1960s??
First of all, why are you screaming? Secondly, she looks cute, doesn’t she?
