I have the same CT with the same colors from March 2018 with 23000 km. I made it completely to my liking, including a Cruise Control from MCCRUISE from Australia, which works fantastic! No other motorcycle for me. -Shaftdrive/Cadan. -DCT. -Cruise Control. -V4 1236cc. -Honda quality and reliability! It doesn't get much better.... Greetings from the Netherlands😉
Many thanks for your comment. Well this is the problem, it’s so good I can’t find anything that comes close at the moment. Hardly a complaint, of course. Certainly in terms of quality, there seems little available to the same standard. Thanks again. 👍
He Jan, toevallig clips van je motor op youtube? Zag op je profiel dat ie zwart met een beetje rood afgebeeld staat en vooral met de dikke uitlaat. Prachtig
Watching this one again. I have about 8500 miles on my Dunlop Trailmax Missions with plenty of tread left. I've been very happy with them and pretty quiet as well.
I have one of these, in South Africa. It’s a fantastic bike. It’s taken me over some pretty rugged rocky muddy offroad terrain in heavy rain even, as well as long long trips, in comfort, never missed a beat. Kaoko throttle lock does the job perfectly adequately in lieu of cruise control. Keeping mine.
Yeah they’re a tough machine, no doubt. Such a shame Honda offer nothing comparable any more. AT doesn’t work for me, I’ve ridden several variants. Bring back the V4, I say. Thanks for your comment. 👍👍
The only Honda DCT with shaftdrive better than the Highlander is probably the Goldwing. Depends on Your useage of course. There will allways be better bikes out there but its a Honda. Its comfortable, reliable, powerful, practical, reasonable, uncomplicated & yes it is capeable enough offroad. Furthermore easy to work on except Maybe the valves & sparkplugs. What more do You need ? Have the same bike in the same colour DCT 2019. I do most of My riding in the arctic climate of Scandinavia. Its the perfect Adventure Tourer for Me. Am also the lucky owner of a Transalp 650 2005 that i use for the real dirt. Note! Cruisecontrol added it works perfectly. The Power Of Dreams ❤ Cheers from Norway.
I have a 2016 manual crosstourer, had it just over 2 years now. I fitted Michelin road 6 tyres and it's transformed the bike. I never go off road, so don't miss the A41's.
@@trevorphillips3055 the A41’s were a good tyre I found. The AX41 is didn’t go for as I didn’t take it too much off road either, maybe just the occasional light gravel road or something. Great bike, and I miss it. Thanks for the comment. 👍
After 4 months I wonder what you ended up with. Have you considered the V Strom 1000 or even the 1050DE? I'm looking for a new bike and have shortlisted the Crosstourer and the Vstrom. They are both in a similar price range. I test rode the 1050DE and it's a fantastic bike. I can't seem to get my hands on a Crosstourer for a test ride at the moment. I think I would love the V4 and I'm keen on a shaft drive as well.
The CrossTourer was on my shortlist a few years back. But ultimately the lack of cruise control, haolgen front light and frighening services costs put me off. I like to be different so went with a GS 😂 The GS/Boxer is very easily servicable for home tinkers like me. I defo wouldn't take a valve clearance check on the Tiger 1200 or CT. I've recently added an X-ADV to the stable as missed the lovely Honda DCT gearbox.
All very fair comments re the servicing, valves etc is £1k+… headlight also, one of the easily fixable issues. Cruise control, big miss from Honda that one. Thanks for your comment and much appreciated.
The 1200 super Ténéré 2015 onwards has cruise which is another very underrated bike and I would consider that. But il stick with my Crosstourer as cruise I would only use now and again and you can fit a kaoko throttle lock for £90 . I’m putting Oxford spotlights on mine just for extra visibility to other road users. As the standard headlights are superb .
@@TheZanshen yeah agreed, the ‘big-ten’ is a great bike actually, rode one a few years ago. Sad loss from the Yamaha range that one… thanks for your comment and thoughts 👍
@@MrSpeedFrk was very very close to buying one, still may add one into my collection. Only “problem” is lack of space in the garage as I have 3 bikes in there plus all my workshop stuff. ATAS replaced the much missed X-tourer. Thanks for your comment, much appreciated. 👍
My mate, I completely understand you. Been in the same position, been aiming for Africa Twin Adventure Sports 1100 DCT and then remembered that, just before Honda announced the return of AT in 2015, there was another machine already in Honda’s lineup, but it didn’t have legendary name attached to it, the almighty VFR Crosstourer. Completely ditched the ATAS 1100 purchase process and went for VFR-X. Got the updated version from 2017, DCT with just 10000 km straight from the Honda dealer. Turns out, some guy brought it back and exchanged it for the Africa Twin. 🤣 Many thanks to that fine gentleman, I owe him a drink. 1 year and 20 thousand kilometers later, I’m happy and can’t find enough excuses to ride it.
Yep, these sure are great machines. Sadly, it’s now gone from my stable, with yep an Africa twin. The V4 though, what an engine it is. Sadly it’s just not capable of meeting emission regs and the production costs are sky high. But, the engine is one of the best ever made. Bring back the V4 Honda!! Thanks for the comment, really appreciated. 👍
