1. Pick the right toy for the game.
Long, lightweight toys work great for most puppies. Some distance between your hand and their mouth is helpful.
2. Teach the ‘give’ behavior first. Spend time offering the puppy the toy and trading to get it back.
3. Play safe. Play low and act as an anchor. Avoid swinging or yanking the puppy.
4. Play daily. It is enriching and fun for all.
