I don't think I have brain cancer - 2 months after surgery

  • I think I'll be okay but realistically I just don't know yet. 2 months after brain surgery I'm still hoping, praying and manifesting that my results don't come back positive for cancer. I've never mentioned cancer throughout this whole journey of getting my tumour removed. I'm hoping this journey comes to an end soon and everything stays positive :)
Thank you so much for all of your support and lovely comments throughout this stressful time ❤️

I saw something similar on a YT channel of a young girl who has unfortunately passed away a few years ago. I understood people were saying she was doing it for the attention and she wasn’t updating enough… Like what?? The girl was slowly passing away and people have the audacity to say things like that?? I mean I don’t wish any such illness on anyone, but for people like that I sure hope karma bites them in the ass sooner or later!

Eireann, potentially having a blood clot in your lungs is a medical emergency and must be addressed immediately. I hope you were able to be seen today and if not please go to the emergency room asap. As a critical care nurse I urge you to do so. I’m so sorry you don’t have your pathology report yet. I really admire your courage and hope you get answers real soon. ❤

I am in remission since last summer from lymphoma. I know what it is like to wait for lab results. I had to wait 6 weeks after a second biopsy that was tested at two hospital labs. My chemo could not start until the exact type of lymphoma was found. I was getting worse by the week while waiting.
You seem to be recovering very well for what you went through.
You are very charming and I look forward to you getting on with a fully normal life with few or no more procedures!

My brother had his craniotomy to remove 1 of 3 tumors, around the same time as Eireann- and he is being kept also in suspense waiting for the final pathology report that has not been released.
All he has is the preliminary dx. from the frozen section done during his surgery. He was told it's stage 4, and/but has not even begun his treatment yet!
It is truly the biggest life trial but he is just like this lady, very patient and positive through it all, no complaints!,

Hi Eireann you have an awesome great positive attitude. It’s tough to wait but honestly you should not have to. I was diagnosed at 43 with NHL and have been cancer free since 2016. You are the best advocate for your health. Make sure you demand to have an MRI and X-Ray ASAP on the breathing problem don’t wait demand it ASAP. Im very surprised they told you possible blood clot and not immediately schedule you to come in. As far as the pathology on your tumor as you know it should not have taken this long to get accurate pathology result. You can also request to have a sample of your tumor and send it to a pathologist for testing. Please make sure not to wait too long and remember you are your best advocate for your health with the doctors. I hope you get back to normal asap.

@@surenot1Positive thoughts, whether called prayer or meditation, CAN effect our brains faster than most other organs! But actual cancers can be trickier since they protect themselves from influence.
Starving potential cancers out with a healthy lowest carb ketogenic diet can help a lot, too. While waiting forever for this diagnosis, there’s no reason not to help out.
Our brains thrive on ketones, but cancers die!
Ketones also aid our lungs & microbiomes, and those microbiomes, if healthy, can do amazing healing things.

20 years ago my husband while travelling in the US, was diagnosed with glioblastoma and was told he had months to live. When he returned to Canada they did another MRI and they confirmed the diagnoses. He kept getting more MRIs throughout the year and the tumour got smaller and smaller to the size of a pea.
He now believes the diagnoses was incorrect and the doctors cannot explain what it was he had. He had no radiation or chemo and no surgery as well. Today it’s still a mystery and I’m just happy that he’s still here.

I'm feeling very positive for you. In my experience with glioblastoma for example results were fast and clear (I remember they were still waiting on I think 1 or 2 things to see whether it had a certain mutation but even then it was still clear what it was), so I am feeling positive it isn't that and probably none of the common malignant tumours they are used to seeing. I think I read recently someone said 'hope for the best, prepare for the worst ' and I quite like that way of thinking. It sounds like you've done this, you've prepared and things I think will turned out how you've been hoping. I often miss that time between my husband's op and diagnosis when there was hope as weird as that sounds, you have a new outlook on life and hope for the future and I really wish that is cemented for you in a couple of weeks finding good results. ❤

Personally, I hate it when doctors say "I don't think it's this or that". My mom felt a bump in her armpit and got it checked out. The doctors discovered it was a mass and she got it removed soon after. While she was waiting for the result, her doctor said "I don't think it's breast cancer, the mass was too perfectly round for it to be cancerous" . So my mom was relieved, not thinking much of it. The diagnosis came, breast cancer, and one of the most aggressive ones as well. We were devastated and she was so shocked that to this day she cannot remember how she got home from the hospital that day. Luckily, she caught it early and she is still doing ok 6 years later. I still hate that doctor that got her hopes up without knowing any information, just for my mom's life to come crashing down when the official diagnosis came.
Anywaaaay, love your energy and your videos and I hope everything turns out for the best

You are 100% correct about how your attitude about life changes when something like this happens to you.. After my 2 craniotomies with my tumor and having to be on life support, then pulling through, my entire attitude has changed. All the stupid little things don't matter. You truly realise how fleeting life is and how blessed you are to have "your people". I've always been a pleaser my whole entire life and now I have learned to finally just say no, I can't do that. I have a whole new appreciation for how I live my life and I've decided that I'm going to do what I want to do and not what everyone else expects me to do! I have so much more peace in my life now after experiencing that. I don't take one day for granted, not even the crappy ones. And some days I look around me and think to myself, look how beautiful the day is, I'm so lucky to see it and feel the wind in my hair or the sun on my face. It changes you in many ways, even for the better. Praying for you ❤ 🙏 ❤️

I think part of the reason there may be confusion among patients and others is the use of the term "malignant". Ordinarily "malignant tumor" means cancerous tumor. But it in a strict sense of the word, a non-cancerous tumor can be quite malignant if it is in the brain a compressing an important neurological structure, which then creates symptoms for the patient. Some people who have large tumors compressing their brain stem may not be able to swallow or speak, (i.e, their tumor is harmful or malignant as opposed to benign) yet a very successful treatment may be to remove just 1/2 or 2/3 of the tumor because those tumors don't grow back or spread. A "non-malignant" (i.e., non-cancerous) tumor in the breast, in contrast may need no treatment at all, just like common lipomas.
I commend you for getting all the facts right, including the right terms. It's your health and you should be very diligent. I've had many surgeries and on of the most helpful things to do is to have a notepad or journal in which you summarize the facts of the medical encounters you have, in a very structured way, so that you can keep track of what was said, and what the plan is. Typically what I do is write down a set of critical questions (fewer is better!) and symptoms before the appointment, and right after, in the waiting room summarize what was said and the next step to be done. It is a handy way to keep track of all the names and affiliations as well. Once you've had a surgery, different people will always ask what it was, and when it was done.

i wish you'll find out soon that's it's nothing to worry about. I wish the next time they'll tell you you won't see the surgeon face to face cuz you won't have to have any appointments anymore. Hopefully your health would only get better and better. Keep being strong, it only helps you get better faster. Love from Morocco. You inspire me from this far apart.

I'm not a medical professional, although it is a field I intend to go into and I've done a fair bit of my own research on the topic. Still, this is purely based on my quite limited knowledge of medicine; I found this video deeply concerning. Not even because of the brain tumour, but the moment you mentioned shortness of breath I had a sinking feeling in my gut. You've said in the comments that it was not a blood clot, so it's hard for me not to come to the following conclusion.. I think it might be lung cancer. You implied that you've noticed shortness of breath for quite some time, before the surgery.
Lung cancer is the most dangerous type of cancer because cancer spreads from the lungs all through the body, including, very frequently, the brain. The fact that the doctors have so far been unable to confirm any of the non-cancer related theories seems to support this as well. Please, demand that they scan your lungs. I wish you the best, and I truly hope that I'm wrong. I'll be watching, and I'm so sorry you have to go through this

Éireann, my dear friend, I feel that in this situation it may be useful to look at things from the other perspective. Yes, they don't exactly 100% know what it is, but they do know what it isn't. And I believe that at this point, all the worst and even moderately bad diagnoses have been excluded. It just doesn't take them that long to diagnose brain cancers which sadly are not that uncommon (still rare of course, but not unheard of like some other ultra-rare things). So what is important is that whatever it is, it's not something bad and aggressive. Most likely something benign, as some of these brain tumors are extremely rare. And the rare it is, of course the harder it is to diagnose. That said, I do hope that you find out for sure very soon. Hugs!

I’m an Registered Nurse and I’m strongly urging you to be seen at the clinic or by a pulmonologist immediately. If you have a blood clot (pulmonary embolism) that clot can dislodge and travel to other parts of your body. There’s a high chance it could end in your brain and cause a devastating stroke or death. Please don’t take the chance of it causing severe disability or death. I encourage you to read about pulmonary embolisms if you’re unsure of what I’m telling you. Canada’s healthcare system is seriously lacking. I’m in the States and this is an immediate, emergent issue. I’m praying for your recovery. Please take care.

Medical diagnosis does seem to take forever. I have a rare non cancerous spinal tumour. It's taken over 16 years to get these answers and it's taking over a year to get the diagnosis after tests first started. Previous test were on my brain. Finally I was sent for MRI of my spine. Now waiting for further tests and appointments. It's a draw out process. Wishing you all the best x
