What’s funny about the brute assassinations on civilians is that they’re just scripted animations. Unlike a player on player/npc assassination. On the player on player/npc assassination is once the knife goes in for the kill. The player/npc is dead. The target can’t be saved (rejected) When he brute throws the civilian down or crushed them under their foot, there is still a chance to save them before the brute finally leaves the animation. It being when he is done roaring or when he jumps forward.
4:04 there's something about the smoothness of the Athlon armor that I actually really like. I have a pvc statue of one, and it looks even better than in-game.

Next thing you know, John Sierra 117 was knocking out the legs of this Forerunner construct and stabbing it in the back.

Weird fact: there's a spot on the H4 mission Lockdown where a few animations ragdoll physics don't turn on. Making them look like this: 7:54. Same for 3, 2, 1. In different places of course
Im quite late to this video, but I really like the animations of the a.i Spartans. The ones I'm referring to are 10:0010:087:208:139:24 and the animations of getting injured from different shots to your body. Despite how much they wouldn't be necessary to the game, being able to do signals like that say in multiplayer or campaign in possible future Halo games like Infinite would be awesome as it would make you as the spartan look more human. The ways you just fight in Halo 5 seem like the Spartans are so robotic and bland. Keep in mind that despite being a superhuman, they're still humans inside that tough armor. So if you were to do animations like that say when your shields are low or down would make the Spartan look a lot more alive. Although this is my personal opinion. It was really intriguing seeing all these animations.
I feel like halo reach's assassinations are the best, because it actually feels like an assassination; it's quick, lethal and satisfying. But I kinda wish there were more ways to assassinate the brutes
To anyone complaining an h4 and h5 assassinations: Honestly, if you wanted to get the job done quick you'd just tap the melee button and do a beat-down like the pros do. It's faster, just as effective, and doesn't leave you vulnerable to attack like an assasination does. Anyone who holds down the melee button to go for the assassination does so to show off. And one thing 343 has done fantastically well with is 4 and 5's assassinations.
I think the main problem in game is that they ragdoll too soon. It overlaps with the assassination animation and literally cuts it off, jerking around and spawning a weapon on top. If it could wait just a moment after the assassinations, it would look as good as this.

Yeah, that would be nice, but a lot of the advanced animations where cut due to budget and limitations in the game engine of the time.
