You don't have to dare anything, anybody who knows anything about music thinks that. The ninth, as great as it is, is on the weaker side when compared to all this galaxy brain pieces Beethoven composed in his late years.

This is just an explosion of energy
Yees!
I have never heard the Gloria so glorious!!
I just finished listening to it and tears have come to my eyes. From a Gloria!
It's simply amazing
never heard this work before and i literally jumped out of my seat.... what a way to begin!!!
This is the second movement.
This mass is so neglected compared to 9th symphony. I dare say it's even better than the 9th.
Totally agree!
You don't have to dare anything, anybody who knows anything about music thinks that.
The ninth, as great as it is, is on the weaker side when compared to all this galaxy brain pieces Beethoven composed in his late years.
This Gloria is all bombastic pretentiousness - loud and nothing else, the ninth is superior in every way.
Beethoven said himself it was his greatest work...
@@TheOneAndOnlyZelenkaGuru I agree the 9th is better but this is far from being pretentious or bombastic. That's a comment made in ignorance
Singing this work is like doing an intense aerobics workout!
I did sing Missa solemn. many times , as member of chorus.Chorus has the main role in this missa, quite diferent from all other messa and requiem !
Gotta love how the motion just randomly stops at a single long note. 'Deus - Pater - Pater OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM-niiiiii-po-tens!'
Not random! omnipotens-“Almighty”!
First entry of the 3 trombones in this mass
My choir would have sung Missa Solemnis, were it not for the pandemic. I liked it from the beginning, now I absolutely adore it!
13:17 Im scratching my head as to how we've arrived at c sharp major
Correction: c sharp minor, just a pichardy third
John Elliot Gardiner is pretty cool.
He really 'slaps'...
Thanks for the upload. Extremely useful for practice!
You're welcome :)
