- @0:53 that statement is incorrect. NZXT offers blue and red variants as well as the typical white and black. They admittedly were released a bit later. EDIT: I've aware of the white balance issue. It's been plaguing my latest videos. Working on a fix. Calibration is one thing, but the lighting in my living room changes more than a bride changes wedding dresses.

Phanteks is still unbeatable. I have the Enthoo Evolv TGE. (Don't get me wrong, I love other cases and case builders.)

i have a s340 elite and i agree that the cable clps sound cool on paper but don't actually work as well as Velcro, and i'd love to have a rest switch to get into the bios faster when overclocking. i still like the looks of the s340 elite a bit more then the p400s with that flat front plate.
I agree with the S340 looking a bit better (mostly in the front and being matte vs glossy). If the P400 had the S340's front plate, IMO, it'd be the best-looking case out there. The biggest issue with the S340 is the somewhat ugly top and bad radiator support--both of which the P400 fixes.
Even still, I agree with Salazar. I think the P400 TGE is currently the hands down best white and black mid-tower case available right now.
I chose the P400s over the s340 elite because it offers better support for water cooling.
The P400S is matte on the front, it's only glossy on the interior, all exterior is matte

Just finished my new PC build in the P400s. Been doing this for around 20+ years now. And hands down, this is the "cleanest" and most enjoyable build I've ever done. The wireing was super easy and everything looks incredlble clean and neat.

Hello, Would a Cooler Master MasterAir Maker 8 (17,2 cm ) fit inside the Phanteks p400 ? I think i found some info saying that the case is designed for coolers up to 16 cm. Is there room from the CPU to the Glass, even if it touches it :D ?
Really appreciate the unbiased and very realistic review here. It was an easy decision for me choosing the P400S before watching this, but seeing it up against the trendiest mid tower atm makes my decision just that tad better. Good video, but how is the airflow/temperatures in the P400S since the dust filter in the front are so small, does they get "dirty" very fast and prevent air to come through?

If you remove the harddrive bracket in the p400 can you put it in a hard drive? I mean, in the floor of the case under the psu shroud closer to the psu

does p400 have 3.5" hard drive sound dampening?
I have an S340 from before the elite series and I'm probably going to keep this case until it can't be used anymore - It's just simply the best case I've built in in a long time (sides my friends H440, which has more room) and looks great.
KaisDragonBlade agreed. I am annoyed by how little space there is between the hard drive and power supply though, as the cables are very cramped down there.

Help. S340 Elite w/ 240mm rad; good idea, or should be avoided? I plan to put an i7 system into the chassis, and I am concerned with the thermal performance, especially after Kaby.
Is the PSU Chamber metal sheet removable in any of these 2?

You mentioned that your first p400 (not tempered glass) window scratches easily. Does the tempered glass window resist scratches better? Is it virtually scratch proof?
The HDD trays aren't included in the tempered glass ones? there is two in the regular p400

Good comparison! I agree with your assessment and am leaning towards the P400S TG. But I do love what NZXT did with the PSU shroud. The extra cutouts and the SSD mounts are so sweet.
I like the looks of the S340 Elite better, with it's super clean lines. However, everyone and their mom is using it for their build these days, so I'll probably buy the Phanteks. One thing I like about the Phanteks as well is the metal front panel.

GOA|Cobraz some people just want to be unique if everyone has that case and they've seen SO many builds with it then it will start to get boring, however the p400 TGE is new and fresh.
ThatGuy You won't regret it! I had my doubts with it, but after building in it for a friend I fell in love! Really well put together, only thing missing in my opinion is cable cutout on the PSU shroud.
Can you tell me if the LED strip is magnetic or adhesive? That'd be pretty dope

I recently got a P400S (Silent Closed Side Panel Edition) & my 12cm AIO cooled FX-9590 is loving the improved space from my previously tiny case. Going forward will be updating to a 240mm AIO.

Did you remove some of the plastic clips on the nzxt s340 elite? I have a total of 4 which I noticed you may not have. Is it possible that you have an older version of elite? Regardless, thanks for the consistent content.
I may have removed a bracket at one point. Not sure. But if the norm is four then that must be the case.

What about cooling/airflow? Which one is better? I heard the P400 has really bad airflow due tothe small intakes in the front. True or false?
And also.. is it possible to squeeze in a Dark Rock pro 4 in any of these? The specs say max CPU-cooler height 160mm and 161mm respectively. But could you fit a 162,8 mm tall towercooler, like the Dark Rock Pro 4, in any of these cases?
any idea if a 120mm rad would fit up top or is it really that limited?

I own the the phanteks Pro M case which is very similar on the inside those HDD bracket holders also will hold pump and reservoir's with add on brackets for custom loop installs.
To be honest it doesn't even matter which one is better, I believe it mostly comes to visual preferences if you buy a case like this. But the fact, that we have such two cool options alone is amazing!

Hi, love your videos. Yesterday i got my brother an i5 7600k with a z270 board. And i overclocked it to 5 GHz with 1.5 V (recommended by the motherboard) Is that safe? After 1½ hours it "Only" gets to 87 MAX....

Greg! are you aware that there's different lighting modes on the p400? if you hold down the color change button for a few seconds, it goes to a breathing mode, and if you hold the button for a few seconds again, it goes full rainbow
have you tried corsair cases?
I went with the s340 elite, namely for a few reasons, no shipping for one, and I prefer it asthetically. The strait hole to GPU power looks great, I'm not a fan of RGB lights (not a plus or minus just don't need it), and I like having clean cables up front but have com to hate grommets.
That bracket made installing my x42 a nightmare though, I spent an hour just deciding how I would do it. With my Gigabyte Z270X ultra it would not fit up top.
Last year i had hard time picking between these two case but after watching your reviews on both case i pull the trigger on the P400.
P400 TGE owner here. I absolutely love my case. Contrary to popular belief, the front panel cooling is actually not really restrictive at all. If you smoke test the system you can see air easily moving through the top and bottom vents when the fans are spinning, even at a low RPM.
I'm building my very first gaming PC. I'm very confused if i should go with the elite or P400. Help plz!!!

Im a bit worried on the air flow through the front of the P400. Anyone have experiences with this? For example if you mount a 280 radiator there. The dust filters on the front are also only covering the intake slots? And not the whole front? That would mean a high velocity and frequent need of cleaning compared to the S340 i guess
P400: AF or SP fans for intake ? due to the small vent size...
Bought the Phanteks case a few weeks ago and couldn't be happier. Excellent case. Skipped the RGB and added my own with (ironically) NZXT Hue+.

It seems that you forgot to mention the additional air filters in the P400.
Also, I read many benchmarks that got a much warmer operation in the P400, blaming a bad air intake in the front. The NZXT S340 was not great in temperatures but the air intake in the front is better.
I am much concerned with the temperatures because I am building a pc to be used in a warm place, where ambient temperatures can reach 40 degrees Celsius making cooling much harder. Have you noticed this air intake problem and the difference in operating temperatures between them?
I am getting that exact P400S case for my next build. Already have a theme for it.
One point I'd like to make about the ssd trays on the s340 is that if you don't use them, there are going to be visible holes and mounting points that could be an eyesore
Very true. Perhaps a downside to having them placed up front.
Donald Uchiha but you also forget that the NZXT Hue + is perfect to be mounted in this location so you can have RGB control throughout the case while removing the eye sore
