    FINALLY, I needed to see this review since it's teased on your instagram...I owned the none TG version and love it but I have one problem with this is temperature.
    (The bottom portion is a repost)
    The reason P400 runs hotter is due to the air being drawn. Unlike Define C and S340 or any other case which the dust filters sit right infront of the fan while the P400 does not. The Dust filter is very far away from the fan and resulted choking the fan as no direct fresh air, the fan could be drawing air existing within the chassis. What I did to make my case being cooler in temp is to remove the stock dust filter and bought magnetic fan filters from Silverstone and place it right infront of them and resulted cooler in temperature as the setup is no difference with any other case.

    • @coleplacemb
      @coleplacemb 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      This really works, huh? Did you purchase the Silverstone Tek 140mm x 2 Fan Filter with Magnet, Black (FF142B) (www.amazon.com/Silverstone-140mm-Filter-Magnet-FF142B/dp/B008N8GENI/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1489554778&sr=8-1&keywords=silverstone+FF142)?

      I have to say my graphics card runs very hot in the case. I have a front 240mm rad, and under gaming load my GTX1080 reaches 83C... Is that too hot?

    • @louishansetiv7016
      @louishansetiv7016 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      rad in the front, with the airflow restriction this case has ..... Try popping off the front panel and have it kind of leaning against the case while you test temps. if that little bit of airflow makes that much difference, I'd consider cutting a large portion of the front panel out and putting a magnetic dust filter on the inside of the front panel, then reattach. Be artistic, or simplistic, but get more air to the front of that rad.

      P400 only lacks in airflow. IMO, their functionality and features are almost identical in mid tower category. P400 TG has more features compared to Define C like TG side panel, LED strip, and fans controller.

    • @jonmunns3715
      @jonmunns3715 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I don't think you can realistically say the P400 lacks airflow, with up to 360 mm front intake. If you check out Luke's workshop on case air flow on LTT, more than a couple of fans won't make much difference. Definitely like the added features, agree there!

      I am still leaning towards the S340 elite because of the cable management bar where you can bring in all the cables from the side. Also, there is a cutout for cables on top of motherboard also I think. As he mentioned in the video, the CPU cable has to come from the front because of this. Overall, I think this case will show more cables through tempered glass than the S340 elite.
      If there is one CON to the S340 elite - its that if you install the SSD on the front of PSU shroud (See Bitwit video - he explains the problem), then you will lose one slot of hard drive cage because cables have to go through the cage towards the front of PSU shroud. Probably it can be squeezed in - but you either have to use only one 3.5 HDD or put one on the basement of the case. Other option is not installing SSD there - you get both cages.
      I don't think that's a big con as cables showing on top. But that's me.

      Built in the S340, am picking this over the S340 Elite myself. The grooves are at the perfect places for cable manages too even though the huge cutout the S340 had was also nice. The LED's are also an added bonus and if you don't wanna use them you can just turn them off. I believe you get another 30cm strip included aswell so that's nice to have and those 2 will give the perfect subtle glow imo.
      Hard drive mounting on the S340 is terrible in general aswell, there's a lot of shaking and if you ever wanna move it you'll probably hear your hard drive during the move.

    Actually bought this case it is really nice..but with just few flaws. Big one is front panel airflow restriction.I think people that bought the case knows what im saying..heard many complaints about it..it would be really nice if Phanteks can make an aftermarket full mesh front panel.. Something like Cooler master did. Good work btw.

    I have the silent white tempered glass edition. $76 after taxes from Newegg warehouse in city of industry. It’s such a nice size neat looking case, they’ve included things that much higher priced cases have: top removable covers, magnetic led strip, front led lighting, padded foam for the silent version. U would never need to mod this case. Excellent video.

    I use this, but found the 240 rad in front was heating the case more than i'd like when on the front with heavy gaming due to lack of ventilation (and in turn heating the inside of the case). Went with a single rad on the back exhaust and it was much better.

    I got the Black/Red version, it was a decent case, though I didn't like that the top part was not offset to help mount a radiator, which is one of many reasons why I switched over to the Enthoo Evolv, the more expensive big brother type of case compared to this one.

    I bought this case recently and did an i7, gtx1080 build. I found that the intakes (top and bottom) on the front panel were hugely restrictive, where my graphics card was running a whole 8°C cooler with it off!
    It is an extremely beautiful case, with great designed, great features, and amazing bang for buck. BUT if you anticipate producing a lot of heat, get the enthoo pro m.

    I've had the P400 since '16 and love it but the air flow wasn't very good. Just replaced the front panel with the P400a mesh panel (you can find it on line for around $20) and all I can say is---IT'S AWESOME. Lowered my systems temps across the board. Multiple C's lower on cpu/gpu....if you own a P400 or P400s---you need to get the mesh panel...total game changer.

    phanteks makes such great cases! i'm currently rocking the Luxe and it's such a great case to work in. only down size is the physical size. I knew it was a full tower when i got it, but honestly didn't know how big that would be. i would have benefited more from a mid tower like this one.
    oh well. maybe down the road when i decide to change parts i'll get a new case.

    I got this case with a CyberPowerPC pre-build from Best Buy. The stock setup was, of course, underwhelming so I tore out the whole package except for the 1TB HDD which is fine, and replaced everything. This case is bigger than my brother's NZXT of higher price point which surprised me and pleasantly so because I still have SO MUCH ROOM for upgrades after installing all the upgrades I had already bought for it. The only downside to this case is the stock case fans are definitely not quiet so if you want quiet you'll definitely be getting new case fans. Other than the fans, love this case.

    I bought this case because of this review. The case is absolutely gorgeous, and it makes building a rig so easy. I look like a pro with my wire management because of the shroud. Only thing the case needed was a cutout through the shroud to route my power cord for the GPU. Other than that great case!
