  • TBUY, LEASE OR FINANCE A TOYOTA AYGO X FROM OSV - bit.ly/3qGYwh1
In the motor industry, everyone's got their own perspective. Take city cars. Two of the industry's biggest players, the Volkswagen Group and Stellantis, say that segment is effectively dead. But Toyota, the world's biggest car maker disagrees, which is what's brought us this car, the Aygo X. It's pronounced 'Aygo Cross' by the way, like the Yaris Cross, Toyota's smallest SUV, the 'X' designating the fact that the Aygo has gone all 'crossover' on us. This, it seems, is the Japanese maker's strategy for justifying this model's continued existence.
In its previous two incarnations, it was produced as part of a joint venture with Stellantis brands Peugeot and Citroen, whose 108 and C1 models were built alongside the Aygo at a jointly owned Czech factory. Following the dis-continuation of 108 and C1 production, Toyota decided to take full control of the plant, then redesigned the Aygo to take a shrunken version of the Yaris supermini's TNGA platform before starting production of the resulting Aygo X model at the Czech plant alongside the Yaris Cross. Now you're up to date.

What does it matter how fast any bloody car goes,,,,or how fast it takes to reach max speed.
In LONDON you can’t go faster than Twenty Miles ph ,,,, A Bugatti ,,,is as good as a mini ,,,,
All that Money ,,,, and it’s still Twenty Miles ph .

YOU SEEM TO PUT THE NAIL IN THE COFFIN OF THIS AYGO, CONTRADICTING YOURSELF ALOT IN YOUR HARRINGTON JACKET

Thankyou for emphasising the need for this kind of car. As pensioners , my wife and I feel this would be a good buy, the 0 to 60 time being an improvement on my first car , a 1960s VW Beetle.

What is it with the British that love their twisted narrow roads. Trust me they are not fun at all. Infact quite dangerous as brits love to speed down them. 😢
Europe has lovely straight, wide boulevards🎉

Saddens me more than I can really put into words that the company responsible for the masterclass of packaging that was the IQ is also responsible for this. Suzuki shows what is possible on a crossover/SUV style car of this size back in 2016 with the then new Ignis, packing a truly amazing amount of interior space into a car with more or less exactly the same overall length and wheelbase as the Aygo X.
Because Toyota couldn't be bothered to put any effort into the packaging, the Aygo X can only really be classed as a 2 + 2. And as such, despite my liking its looks, it is of no use to me or anyone else who wants a small car but needs it to accommodate adults in the rear from time to time.
    Shame on you Toyota!

That's because it opted for a larger boot. Great news for me as I prefer a larger boot and 2+2.

That excuse doesn't really hold water. The Suzuki Ignis, in all bar the lowest trim level, has sliding rear seats. With them slid forward it has a much bigger boot than an Aygo X. With them slid back, it's perfectly feasible to have four occupants of more than six foot tall in the cabin yet still have a boot of a perfectly acceptable size for such a small car.
