15:50 I find it weird that I'm an INFJ and an Enneagram 5 Everyone in my family are extroverted and they find it insulting when I withdraw. I sometimes feel guilty that I enjoy being alone. They think I'm depressing, but I feel blissful. ✨
Well, I am a 5 with a 4 wing, and I really can see how discontent can easily emerge for people in this situation. They are in conflict in a way. 5 tends to disvalue emotions, since it values logical frameworks highly. When it has 4 as a wing, you live with an emotional part that you despise most of the time. 8w9's with high awareness might experience a similar conflict as well.
until they realise that emotions and logic aren’t opposites and devaluing one over the other when they’re both their strengths makes no sense, since despising apart of yourself that can be a strength and a part of who you are, logic and emotions don’t actually tend to be inherently opposed, obsession of emotions is what is illogical because it tends to take you to the illogical extremes and humans are naturally emotionally guided, you just need to know how to balance both.
Hopefully, they learn to love all of their points and wings and aspects and become a many-sided diamond! Every aspect of ourselves has unique gifts to give us and others.
This is a very cool, informative and pleasant video to watch. I've discovered almost a year ago,(now being in my twenties) that my type is 9 and that I still have to work on my strenghts and weaknesses in order to be fully aware of my potential and self-defense mechanism. Things like maintaining the peace, numbing out, symplifyng problems for an eassier, less painful outcome, living on auto-pilot, neglecting my needs and not setting my boundries sounded so dull and common in most people, that I haven't even payed attention to them in a while, but now I see they are crucial signs to observe for my own well-being! Keep the good job up! :D :)
I think that my brother is 9. Most likely self-preserving. My dad is 8. I am 1. All of us are technically part of the same gut triad yet we are so different. It is interesting to see this at play. Most of the time I tend to argue with my dad while my brother stays “out of trouble”.
The "enneagram" Symbolizes a dating game for adults. Gurjeiff would turn over in his grave. (or would he?) Not especially smooth often ruff around the edges (5). Wrather avoid conflict (9) Overwhelmed/ cant fit in.(4) 4,5,9 - I'm in the triad from hell. "The permanent I" ---- never lost it --- just found it. Thanks for your help hip hip horay .
We will still withdraw eventually, but with healthy boundaries we can stick it out longer. Boundaries help 9's remember who we are. (and maybe, that it's OK to be who we are). Thanks for seeing us.
I am a tritype 954 infp-t man. 51. It’s very difficult being assertive with my kids or really anyone. It drives my wife crazy and has put stress on our relationship. But there isn’t much I can do about it. This tritype has some advantages but can be devastating at times too 😢
When 9s follow their growth line they go into type 3 and borrows momentarily from the best qualities of type 3: a positive self-view, more assertive, goal oriented, and feeling secure in their accomplishment. I'd invite you to read into what makes 3 great, as this is within your reach as well. Best of luck 🌻
I am also 954. I recommend you leaning into and read up on that 8 wing. It will feel weird at first but it is possible to set boundaries in a communicative way. You don't have to shout and scream to make your voice heard. It is an ongoing process but it gets better with practice. Good luck!
Lead by example. You don't have to be the bossy domineering dad. When your kids grow up they will understand. Cannot advise on what to do about your wife though...women tend to be bottomless pits of unsatisfaction and you'll never satisfy them whatever you do
Hmm im 🌕infp 945🌙 with adhd, and because of this my personality feels very conflicting. Like i have a 5 which gives me a mich more logical approach to certian things and i dont always like it because i feel a bit out of place with being a feeler type. And then a 9 so im constantly just wanting peace ✌️ i really dont like conflict and enjoy when everyone does what they like, even if there is conflict i try not to involve or help give solutions to solve. For 4 its my only main type i guess i love creativity and am extremely emotional i hate being criticized too and like to be unique i always feel a bit embarrassed because of that but ive come to peace with such. ♡☆im also sorry for ranting i just like seeing a community of people i can relate to so much, its hard to have that when almost everyone i live with are thinkers and sensing types♡

A quote from M. Gustave too, beautiful. Excellent video.
The lobby boy quote was awesome. Your explanations are very clear and concise. Thank you.
I am most definitely one of the withdrawn types. Great video, Suzy!
Whaaat?!?! This is amazing!! I didn't even know you'd been making enneagram videos! Subscribed ❤
Thank you Suzy💗
You are so sweet and easy to watch and listen to🥰
Oh thank you! 🦋
Thank you so much.. that lobby quote explains me to a T. ❤
Very welcome ;-)

I can definitely relate to this group the most, especially the 9 😄

i have trouble deciding if I'm a 5 or a 9. i typed myself as a 9, but nowadays i think i might be a 5 too as I can relate to both.
That’s the cool thing about tritypes. We have characteristics of many types at once.
I am 459. Whatever that means. I like this video and accent.
same, whats your mbti?
My tritype is 594, neat coincidence I found this video.
