This is the exact video I was looking for! Couldn’t have come at a more convenient time as I have a Powerlifting Meet coming up in April and am in the market for new Sleeves because mine are over 4 years old now. Thank you for all that you do Brandon
Double down chicken legs! I don't compete... But my stoic really help with my bad knees keeping the thing warm and help with the movement. It also helped a lot building back the strength there after I got hurt. For now, I don't think I need to go in the stiffer range, but if I compete one day, it might change...!
Solid info! My next vid is on my new SBD sleeves and I’ve learned the importance of getting the size right, when choosing sleeves. It can be quite difficult however, when you’re on the border between sizes, like I often am. Add to that, the confusing info from MFRs sites, and it can be hit or miss. Glad you found some that provide proper support while being more comfortable (expecting some break in to help with circulation 😂).
Looking to get a pair of the Iron Rebel sleeves. I see in the video you're measuring around your knee. On their website it suggests you measure around the calf. Did you also take that into consideration? I just want to make sure I get the right size the first go around.
@@BasementBrandon fair enough. Wraps are a ton of fun but take some time to really learn. And if you're like me and have suspect knees they help with stability.
Honestly after you break in the Inzers its actually pretty comfortable. Took me about 4 squat sessions to make them feel really good. Love them over SBD and i had been rocking SBD for years
Great review, however, you measured around your knee yet but the IR web site says to mearsure around your calf. Are your calf and knee the same circumference?
I bought these and just received mine. I upped the size for me to 2X. I have decent size calves hence why I went up and glad I did. But man their tight! Are you keeping the large for you? Or you returning yours and getting the XL im just wondering.
I think for now I’m going to keep my L. I did just order a 2nd pair of inzers in size large (size appropriate) so if those fit a lot better I may consider also doing that for the IR.
Just got the Iron Rebel sleeves in a L. My calves measure just a tad under 15", my knee is 14-14.5", and my lower quad is about 18". According to the size chart I should be a large, but when I went to put one on, it wouldn't get over my quad at all. Tried to take it off and it got stuck on my calf. Within 2 minutes my foot started to go numb, 10 minutes later I had to cut it. DO NOT GO TRUE TO SIZE, I will probably reorder a 2xl.
Def run the risk of cutting off some circulation with a lot of these sleeves. I find it takes longer to get them off in general so have to work them quite a bit.
probably read it wrong? lol.. size chart says for calves just under 15" is near the top end of an XL.. even says if you have bigger quads.. you should size up...
I am a bit confused. In your description you have Iron Rebel Performance knee sleeves (which are like 70 USD), but in the video you are actually using Iron Rebel PR ones. How much of a difference is there between the actual Performance and PR ones? I am guessing the PR ones are much more supportive and stiffer?
Raw is on the half natty path to geared lifting. Singlet wars are the next logical progression from the knee sleeve arms race. I predict within the next 5 years you'll see raw singlets with close to the same carry over as the old school Inzer Champion suit. I also wouldn't be surprised to see someone find a way to make a t-shirt that falls within specs that is made out of dense enough material to start getting some carryover on. All the "raw is real strength" evangelists are floating down the river of denial towards the sea of equipped lite & I'm here for it.
I did my 1st meet in ‘92 & powerlifting was just equipped. Took almost 3 decades off, came back raw because it was just easier. I use weak knee wraps because they’re easier to put on & off than sleeves that give any carryover & strong wraps just hurt to much for recreational lifting. As an almost 50yr old I hope they continue this trend. There’s multiple reasons geared lifters seem to have longer careers & having support in the most compromised part of the lifts is probably a factor. I truly wonder if there’s as much animosity between something like NASCAR & NHRA as there is between raw & equipped lifting.
@@BasementBrandon Have you tried the Inzer compression singlet? Has advertising of compression and is IPF approved, so can that equate to sizing down and an effect on the total?
@@BasementBrandon my inzer’s are starting to fit perfectly after wearing them for about 25 squat sessions but I want to try the iron rebel sleeves too.
Stoics are about half the weight and a lot more stretchy. The IR or Inzers prob help more but to me the trade offs aren’t worth it and I still prefer Stoics as my every day.
Stoic are my favorite.. they are comfortable enough to wear for the whole training session . I'm not looking for additional strength gains just the comfort and warmth...
Personally I can say around 10kg, maybe its all in my head. I only use them for 1 or 2 sets a week while peaking for a meet, so maybe its both the peaking+the sleeves
ayy #chickenleggang I do love the Inzer sleeves, but I agree with you on the shape, they don't fit me well. They've also begun to rip. These Iron Rebels look like a great alternative.
Thanks for the review. I get asked how the Iron Rebel Sleeves compare to the Inzer. Since I've never used them, it's hard for me to give an answer.
My poverty squat prefers the IR. Thanks for the discount code!
Took awhile to get used to Inzer pros! Definitely better suited for heavy weights/lower reps
Yeah I just don’t see enough benefit to wear them daily!

Good luck, let me know if you have other questions!
I didnt size my inzer down. It was painful to wear at first, but it is not that stiff after breaking in.
Wish that were the case for me!
Double down chicken legs!

I compete and I still don't think I need to go to the stiffer sleeves 😅
Glad I seen this video ! Was really waiting for you to review the Iron Rebels !
Thanks for taking a look!
Just bought PR sleeves, added 25lbs to my squat
Nice.

Interested to hear your thoughts. I haven’t bought a pair of theirs in like 8 years, so wonder how the new ones hold up!
Actually it's not a problem just send both here and I will check it out for you
Lol
I own the Tuff Wraps Competition 7mm knee sleeves. They are pretty good for the price, IMO.
nice!

Take the bigger measurement. My knee is bigger than my calf.
Back in the basement. I just dropped some coin on a set of E26's 6mm knee, and elbow sleeves good all around product.
Not familiar with them!

You think the Inzer hurts try knee wraps. Those are absolutely miserable if you are doing it right.
#facts
At least with wraps you can undo them between sets.

Calf is less 🤪 Measure both and use the bigger measurement!

wear deadlift socks to put on new knee sleeves or break them in with a 2L/3L soda
Great idea will try it thanks@@benchgoblin
Which do you like more, the CB4 or the Duffalo Bar? Why? I'm sure no one in the history of social media has asked this question of you before.
I find I want to use the cb4 more. Both are great but I like the novelty of 38mm.
Any powerlifter out there knows if you have a hard time getting them on, you use wrist straps to yank them on up. Always go 2 sizes smaller 😉👌🏼
Unfortunately that would get you disqualified in some feds like the IPF or USAPL
@@BasementBrandon ha cmon man those are legitimate federations

Sorry about that, updated the title accordingly. The PR ones (the ones shown) are the newer stiffer material.
What's the circumference at the top/bottom? Would these be okay for bigger quads but smaller calf individuals?
They’re both much smaller in that regard compared to the inzers.
😂 man if those are chicken legs I’m screwed 🤣
😅
Love my inzers.. a true game changer
Going to pick up the IRs?

No problem 👍
Which ones are easier to get over big calves? Thanks !
If you have bigger calves you should use that measurement to size. I'd imagine the inzers may be a bit easier since they taper out more.
