Yeah it definitely is a masterpiece. I remember getting this game for my 16th birthday for my Wii back in 2008. I remember how hard the final battle was but I played the game over and over again until I was able to master it. Such a cool video game!
I had 3 full runs of this game and I realized just now that the brush powers came back in the order that they are obtained, starting with the Dragon and the Ox being the last...
The first time I faced Yami and I got to the part of Issun´s speech, I cried, it is a very emotive moment. PD. You killed so easily Yami´s final form, only with the slow Hahahaha it was hard for me.
During the last moments the sound track "the rising sun" I swear its like you can hear yami panicking, he does everything he can to fight you, but you're not too powerful to be stopped Yami will lose. And he knows it
An incredible ending to an incredible game; I'm extremely happy I had the delight of playing through Ōkami recently for the first time. Truly one of the best games of all time!
This is the only boss in the game I had to use items on and I had absolutely stocked up on everything so I was pretty much invincible anyways :p Also, great gameplay. I never thought to use some of the brushes like that :o
God this game brought back so many memories.I can't believe this beautiful game sold more in America than it did in Japan.I would love to see a sequel.
Okamiden was a cute sequel on the DS but it really doesn't hold a candle to its predecessor. I would love to see a sequel focusing on Amaterasu setting the Celestial Plain in order.
yeah my first playthrough i didnt know you could use the sun and moon brushes for combat in the yami fight. also dont forget wind stage 2 whirlwind slice. water stage 3 "deluge", fire stage 2 "inferno" ♾, cherry bomb 3, slash 3, gekigamis bolt (thunder stage 2), and learning ice automatically comes with the ice pattern ❄ blizzard. those brushes allow you to summon fire, ice, rain, thunderbolt, and tornado slice without needing to have the element in the environment.
Not really, if you've looked at the lore of the game, you can see how Yami is a vessel for Akuro, the true villain of the series, someone else commented about it in this video too, check it out, its not how cool the villain is meant to look, but how they relate to the story and the plot of the whole game series overall, if you focus only on how the villain and characters look like, you lose the essence of the game and it's lore
I agree ninetails as a villain is better... but the fight with Yami is in my opinion one of the best final bosses in gaming, and maybe one of the best bosses. Its just so good.
Issun says he doesn’t want to be a Celestivel envoy. But he draws with all his passion just to help ammy. Great game
26:26 When Yami disappears, you can see the kanji 闇 (darkness), 悪 (evil), 呪 (curse), 魔 (demon), and 凶 (misfortune)
19:05 this part always tears me up.
I know, I cried the first time I saw this.
Same man it's so relatable too 😪 😢 😭 😿
Man this shit DESTROYED me.
Same here
I don’t know why but Issun’s speech got me teary eyed
Humanity's Desire to Destroy, Burn, Gamble, Use Technology for Evil, and Use their Hands for Evil.
The symbolism in this game, man...

Can't believe the source of eternal darkness is a fishbowl.
I think is to represent that all things start small. There is also a big flying fish boss. Idk what they mean

This game and Bayonetta are Hideki Kamiya's magnum opus.
That moment when you realised that you didn't collet all the Stray Beads after defeating Yami...😓

Go one step further, use Divine Retribution for the first four phases, and switch to Solar Flare at the end.

It is a work of art

No. It's not just a work of art.
It's a MASTERPIECE!
