The and issue mention at the start of the video will not get patched as the only patches were done at most a few months after release on the xbox one and the ps4; no other version has received patches and they were released. Great Video.
I don't at all see the issue with showing glitches when it's only when necessary. People who want to see glitchless see how far it goes, and then people who enjoy seeing glitches get both. Everybody wins.
It is one of the main reasons I absolutely LOVE video game challenge runs. The parts where they have to do crazy glitch stuff in order to conform to arbitrary rules, liek Mario 64 minimum A press, or Dark Souls 3 in alphabetical order, where they use 6 players laddering by backstabbing each other for like 50 hours or something like that.
As far as I'm concerned, glitches are perfectly fine for a challenge run like this. The devs may not have intended for you to use them, but they didn't intend for you to ignore Spyro's wings, either, did they? This was an incredible run, and you've improved a lot! I lost it every time you pronounced "Jacques" that way, though, lol. It's the French version of "Jack" because he's a jack-in-a-box.
Man I knew level storage was still a thing but I didn't know just how many difference you could get between the versions. Now I'm really looking forward to 2 and 3. Also blast from the past: Your spyro 1 video was the first video of yours I ever watched!
That secret room in the Dream Weavers home world is actually a reference to an early build of the original Spyro when they didn't have a wall there. So awesome they added that!
It was only a matter of time before you tackled the reignited trilogy too! It's actually pretty cool to see how different things like this can be with a remake. The final total is significantly higher than expected, awesome work!
I've been around since the original spyro run, and back then I still said you deserved a challenge complete But it's nice to see not only is this run possible with some cool glitches but the original one can be put to bed as a true completion
Level storage is such a cool glitch. I don't even want to imagine the testing and experimentation needed to figure that one out. I love how it completely destroys levels and sends you into the void if you so much as mess up in the slightest. I feel like glitches are what make this channel so unique. Sometimes, breaking the game is the only way to beat these challenges, and that's completely fine.
Level and fairy storage are some of the coolest glitches out there. I remember doing the peace keepers fairy storage so many times that I had 542% completion on peace keepers.(it works on PC now)
Don't worry about people who want challenge runs "pure" (no glitches). Your video shows what you cna do without then gets into them, i think thats fair. Also some glitches are about as hard as normal gameplay to pull off in some games lol
As someone who speed ran Reignited 2 and 3 for a bit, I had the biggest grin on my face when you mentioned level storeage, I had a feeling it was coming!
I love the commitment to seeing through all glitches and I appreciate your time for these. They are so so entertaining to me as someone who adores Spyro games. I would love to see a no hover run for the new Astro Bot game hehe! Or any other challenge runs for that game!
Absolutely love this series! Don't worry too much about using glitches during these runs, It seems like most people (like myself) enjoy seeing you break the games.
I tried to watch this every night this week and I fell asleep every time. Thank you, it is the best outcome for such relaxing nostalgia videos. Appreciate it!
Glitches are part of the logic of the game engine. Unintended, but still. It's not cheating because you don't change anything in the code and don't use console cheats either. Level storage is the same as cool obscure tricks in Tony Hawk - not necessarily required to complete the game, and a lot of people will need outside instructions on how to achieve that, but ultimately it isn't cheating. I'd have a different opinion if it were a multiplayer game as there'd be an element of active disadvantage, however that'd still be more on the devs than the players imho.
55:43 I remember seeing that live! The red faced laughter was like during your MGS3 no steps run when you were about to get discovered in the scientist disguise, but one guard helpfully slammed the door open onto his friend, knocking him out
The use of the supercharge was masterful! And the glitches are so intrincated. I just wonder how people find those out! It's really cool and I love their application on challenge runs. Amazing video!
There is no reason to apologize around the 30:55 mark. As an older gamer, your video game runs are fun and enjoyable to watch. Please keep up the great work.
Nathan my man, I could watch a two hour long video about you describing how to peel a banana. The fact that you have to show glitches is far from an issue, quite the contrary. Absolutely fascinating work, as always. P.S I recently late-watched your Abe's video and tripped me into replaying and 100%ing the game on my PSX, so thanks for that :)
Been so excited for this video after seeing a few parts of the live stream for this! Your original spyro run is how I (and many others) found your channel. Great that you finally got a true completion:)
If I've learned anything from this video it's that Spyro has one of the best and most nostalgic OSTs! Awesome video dude, you definitely got a sub from me!
Fantastic video as always mate, always blows my mind with how far you get with the craziest tricks (like level storage). Only problem I have with this is I now really want to play the reignited trilogy!
wow just came back to see if there was any updates looks like i came back just in time XD keep it up love the content my dude have followed along from the beginning :)
Imagine this from Gnasty Gnorc's perspective, the dragon coming after him doesn't fly, he even left the game for a while to travel to Spyro Ripto's rage just for him to come super charging back, because he simply refused to fly
Hey, let's go bro! We're not big challenge runners, but we've done a bit of low-level game breaking in our day. Nice to see that finally come to fruition with helping on this challenge.
Nice video, and it was great to see some of it live. Jumping through those poles was crazy. I was happy to contribute by helping with routing in Metalhead.
Awesome vid as always and a slight error for the High Caves, you actually CAN get on both of the pillars controlled by the wizards with an optimized Coyote Time Charge Jump from the first one while the second pillar is on the right at its lowest point(I'm doing my own Glideless challenge and just succeeded in making the jumps). You also CAN jump onto the roots of the stumps in Beast Makers to get the Key and the Gems
I'm dumb,I mistakenly misremembered it wasn't in the Home World where you said you couldn't stand on the roots and I was on the higher platform in High Caves reached by backtracking back to the start where it's easier to get to the lower pillar, lol! Also is the level storage glitch patched for the Switch version? I get it up until the player has to fail the speedway but it seems like my control always gets delayed longer than it should so I never can fail it and it gets stuck on a red circle with everything else all blacked out
Awesome video! Wish I'd known about the RNG manipulation with Level Storage when I did chargeless. Though I'm pretty sure Jacques is pronounced "jahk". It's French.
Came for the Dark Souls videos and staying for all the high jinks any game yalls set your mind to! I love the inclusion of glitches! It is cool to see how game mechanics can be exploited to get through otherwise impossible obstacles in these challenges!!
The original game did have varying levels of super charging. You can tell because the flame color. It's not a new thing to reignited, just a rather obscure feature
54:00 "Jacques" is the French version of the name Jack, which is a reference to how the boss's design is modelled after a jack-in-the-box toy. It's a single syllable name that rhymes with "Jock", with the first consonant making a "zh" sound like the S in "treasure" makes
Stuff like the level storage make me scream "How?!" The number of steps needed to be done in the correct way to work, technically across two different games, seems impossible to figure out. I know there're are probably ways to at files and code or use machines to help, but still it's wild to see stuff like this. Or it's dumb luck. Often times finding these glitches is just dumb luck. Fun video btw :).
Some of the glitches used look a mighty lot like DK64 speedrunning, especially level storage. It's interesting how far people have taken even the most modern games.
Me thinking: I wonder how it will be different, my speed running tech has changed. NG: I know what you're thinking [...] Me: Well...guess who's wrong! 😂
This reminds me of a Spyro 1 challenge I tried doing a few years ago. It was a minimum % run but for each home world + it's levels you were only allowed to do what was required to get to the next home world. So for example in the Artisans home world + levels you only needed to rescue 10 dragons and do nothing else so no gem collecting or rescuing dragon eggs. Then gem collecting in world 2 and so on. You'd only revisit previous levels if after getting everything required in the current home world and levels wasn't enough to progress. HoweverI had to call the run impossible as I couldn't find a way to rescue the 1 dragon in Metal Head without collecting gems.
53:57 I know I'm not the only one to say this, but across the pond here in Burgerland, Jacques is pronounced like "Shock" with a Z instead of an S, like "Jock" but without the hard start of a J. Hearing it pronounced Jack-iss is very humorous to an American ear.

I endend up enrolling for a year. I really enjoy your content, thank you for subjecting yourself to these ridiculous challenges.
I don't at all see the issue with showing glitches when it's only when necessary. People who want to see glitchless see how far it goes, and then people who enjoy seeing glitches get both. Everybody wins.
who is complaining ?
It is one of the main reasons I absolutely LOVE video game challenge runs. The parts where they have to do crazy glitch stuff in order to conform to arbitrary rules, liek Mario 64 minimum A press, or Dark Souls 3 in alphabetical order, where they use 6 players laddering by backstabbing each other for like 50 hours or something like that.
Oh for sure, it's fun to see the game exploited and to see how inventive people can be to do something.
@GIRGHGH no one is complaining. You are fighting ghosts

Feels like only yesterday we were watching hearts break over that single homeworld jump in the PS1 version.
It was 3 years, 1 month, and 1 day
So now it's 3 years, 1 month and 7 days. (Zero fsct checks) but still keeping it up to date
Can't believe that was over 3 years ago, where does the time go!
I'm glad other people like glitches too, thank you. Also, yeah, that Jack pronunciation sounds obvious now 😅
Man I knew level storage was still a thing but I didn't know just how many difference you could get between the versions. Now I'm really looking forward to 2 and 3. Also blast from the past: Your spyro 1 video was the first video of yours I ever watched!
Amazing, thanks for watching that old smelly video 😅

31:13 level storage is absolutely wild. Sublime challenge as always
I've been around since the original spyro run, and back then I still said you deserved a challenge complete
But it's nice to see not only is this run possible with some cool glitches but the original one can be put to bed as a true completion
Thanks for being here since the start!
Gliding is challenge fail.
I tend to base my challenge run ideas on what game has the coolest glitches ha ha
@@NGPlusVideos I could tell. 3D Rayman, Dark Souls, Spyro... Those games have some seriously wacky glitches
Level and fairy storage are some of the coolest glitches out there. I remember doing the peace keepers fairy storage so many times that I had 542% completion on peace keepers.(it works on PC now)
Getting 100% in the High Caves is a perfect example of what I love about these videos. So much ingenuity!
I nailed that by complete accident too 😅
Don't worry about people who want challenge runs "pure" (no glitches). Your video shows what you cna do without then gets into them, i think thats fair.
Also some glitches are about as hard as normal gameplay to pull off in some games lol
I love how part of this challenge is just "Beat 2/3 of Spyro 2 Glideless" lmao. What a ride this video was.
As someone who speed ran Reignited 2 and 3 for a bit, I had the biggest grin on my face when you mentioned level storeage, I had a feeling it was coming!
It was fun to watch some of this live! It's interesting what a single challenge parameter can do to completely change how you play a game.
That's what make challenge run vids so interesting imo
I love the commitment to seeing through all glitches and I appreciate your time for these. They are so so entertaining to me as someone who adores Spyro games. I would love to see a no hover run for the new Astro Bot game hehe! Or any other challenge runs for that game!

Crying at "Jack - es"
I feel pain every time I hear it said like that.
Lol I still call him that because that's how I read it when I was a kid
I mean... isn't that meant to be? Like Jackass, but PG
I tried to watch this every night this week and I fell asleep every time. Thank you, it is the best outcome for such relaxing nostalgia videos. Appreciate it!
Still trying... ;)
Bro, Spyro Reignited LITERALLY has a solution to every problem , it’s insane! Awesome work 🎉

Hour+ of spyro content.
Guess I'm sick tomorrow.
That Twilight Harbor strat was incredibly creative! These videos are such a treat

What are the odds that I started playing this game YESTERDAY and you do this? Awesome.
Another great video, Nathan and Gina!!! So happy we got to see reignited ❤
Thanks, I am glad to be playing Reignited, a long time coming
I’ll never not be hype for a Spyro challenge run! And just your uploads in general lol so close to 100k nearly there!!!
Spyro is life. So close, it has to happen eventually
Nice, Abe is great, I can't wait to play Exoddus too
@@NGPlusVideos It is so good casually. Can't wait to see what you pull off with it. Cheers and take care brother.
It’s honestly surprising you don’t have 100,000 yet. Your videos are amazing
The spyro 2 super charge/level stacking glitch to access dreamweavers was unthinkable. I am lost for words! Absolutely incredible
This is so cool, thanks for doing all this! It must have been a lot of time and work!
Been so excited for this video after seeing a few parts of the live stream for this! Your original spyro run is how I (and many others) found your channel. Great that you finally got a true completion:)
I was so hyped watching these streams. I never caught when you complete Dr Shemp though so its really satisfying to see that was 100%'d!

If I've learned anything from this video it's that Spyro has one of the best and most nostalgic OSTs! Awesome video dude, you definitely got a sub from me!

I love these videos so much. I watch them first to enjoy them, then I use them to help me sleep. Hopefully I'm not the only one.
Was charming to see a new version of the old Spyro video. I was what lured me here afterall ^-^
wow just came back to see if there was any updates looks like i came back just in time XD keep it up love the content my dude have followed along from the beginning :)
15:38 I actually did that as a kid just to see if I could. Neat to see it being done in a challenge run like this!
Been waiting for this video. Looking forward to 2 &3 😊
I’m glad you came up with another Spyro challenge, and hey it’s been awhile since I haven’t watched your own videos and I’m glad to see you again

It was so mindblowing to witness all those glitches live. Very well done as always ^^
Thank you, I'll be doing it all over again in Spyro 2 soon
Watched a lot of this on stream, it was very very insightful
I absolutely love the name "Coyote time". Took me like half the video to get the reference though
im currently on pause with a "no hits" run of the reignited trillogy, and this: 7:19 killed tons of my runs
I'm glad my favorite dragon (Magnus) is part of this wild glitch
Oh my, you keep continuing this series! So happy to see this. I thought Hero's Tail was last one! Looking forward watching this!!👍👍👍
Yessss!!! Excited for this one!!! :D [edit: watched the entire video twice while working, amazing job as always!]

I love how this turned into "Can you beat Spyro the dragon with a 30 second timer"
Same tbh. People told me to just use 10 minute Level Storage, but I knew the 30 second limitation would be way more interesting
What an awesome showcase! Thanks NGPlus!
You're welcome, that's for watching
*Hears ff9 chocobo music within the first minute of the video. Immediately starts humming along without even realizing it*
The Spyro 2 level storage speedway trick is some Petscop-level madness
I recently watched the Spyro glide less in reverse order just for fun, and now there's this. Hahaha. Love it.
Impressive that you managed to 100% three worlds outside of the flight levels.
Watched this when it first released, and after your post I’m gonna use it to sleep to for the next few days. Lets get those VIEWS

What a great video thanks for making such entertaining videos they keep my mind active especially at night
Yooo almost 100k subs!!! Love the videos man, definitely gonna hit 100k by the end of the year keep it up!!
Love the video! Sounds wierd but it was kinda a flashback to your old spyro video, loved that! I re-watched that right after that one 🫡😁
I wonder what would happen if you left the game alone for an entire 24 or 72 hours, would jumping launch you into the sky
Afraid not, the "glitch" fixes itself after 3 hours of play after it triggers. I only learned this recently.
This should be a legit game mode. Does Spyro have siblings? Any of them lost ability to fly due to a freak accident but has affinity for charging?
This is my sons favourite game. Maybe I can learn something to blow his mind...
Show him the Town Square proxy! Blew my little cousin's mind😂 (you can get launched super high into the air, not shown in the video unfortunately)
Not watching this later, am currently waiting patiently for spyro 2 reignited lol
