Honestly, I'm glad. I did not like Zero at all and was hoping they'd find a way to retcon it or at least the whole part with Tucker losing his signature sword
@@fumi7643 Zero would have been fine if they would have gotten rid of any RvB references, be it in the title, references in episodes or actual appearances. It's own thing in the same Universe, without any direct connection to it.
@@AlFishI actually loved season 17 most especially Washington and Carolina’s relationship and general character development because that was just sweet and absolutely great for both characters and the Loki story a grand total of 8 times so
I'm glad they respectfully retconned Zero. People are happy it's gone and Zero fans are happy it was retconned nicely, acknowledging it saying it's cool and moving on not like "it was shit, we don't talk about it."
@@AlFish he did talk about his love for the very generic trashy cheesy action flicks in the Death Battle episode so it also just makes sense he’s come up with it.
@@tijera1234 Because it's dumb fun? Everyones got their reasons but to me it just activated something in my brain and it was a blast to watch. I'll always be thankful to Zero for literally changing the course of my life and pushing me forward in my animation career.
@@ryanschmidt58The Meta was, at the end of the day, Sigma. When the Meta was first born it was still only Sigma inside, and he just gathered more AI from there
I think it’s omega since church used every fragment except omega and omega even acted like how the mystery man asking church something along the lines of “are you getting angry?” When Carolina was fighting the flamethrower guy in the mountains
I.. honestly think its neither Sigma, nor Omega. ..I think it's Beta. Tex. The figure is wearing black armour, much like Tex was. Tex, or at least robo-tex, had a similar robotic voice as well, and as the Beta Ai, she too was a fragment. The Fragment of Allison's memories And the mystery figure is, as Church calls out, the one overflowing the feed with visions of Allison. The two seem to be on decent terms with each other, despite also having different points of view. "Do you ever wonder why we're here" is not something we've seen Sigma say before, nor should Sigma remember it as he wasnt present during blood gulch... but Tex, or Beta rather, WAS present. ... in any case I'm probably wrong but I'm holding out faith that it's Beta
@@shoulderpyro no, Tex was forgotten by epsilon and has never appeared again, she’s been deleted, and the black armor only helps my theory that it’s omega because he was so connected to Tex and would always find a way to her when given to someone else
I know this is a retcon, BUT... it makes sense knowing that it was Epsilon this whole time making these simulations, how sometimes the characters behave (specially Tucker) is like Church making these simulations and being like "yeah my buddies can do this and can do that" and at some point during Zero he literally just creates an action movie like the ones he loved to watch with Carolina, is poetic sense while also being a retcon
@carloseot5548 it's equally likely that it was a stylistic choice, a way for the show to reflect on its past (looking at all seasons) to give the prologue a sense of finality. That's why they were showing seasons from 1 all the way to 17. The simulations could have just been a justification for showing future seasons in the moment. Otherwise, they couldn't show Church. What's stopping the show from continuing where it left off?
Even though I was a bit of a fan of the Shisno Paradox (mostly because of the character development), I do think that this is a pretty solid way to retcon those seasons. Never watched what came after the Shisno Paradox, just heard that Tucker lost his sword and I lost my interest in it. So, it may be a net positive if RvB Restoration maintains the core of the original 13 seasons.
yeah while im overall happy that the shisno paradox was retconned, we do miss out on insane character development for Wash, Carolina, Caboose, Sister, Grif, and Donut
Are we sure they retconned those season? Seems like to me they only rectonned season was Zero, even then that’s only because people didn’t like that season and church specifically referenced it. Even if those season were simulations, they still could’ve happened. It’s too early to say.
@@raphaelrodgers7407 Considering we're going back to the season 13 finale, and it shows clips primarily from 14-18 while discussing running simulations, i think it's very clear to say they're retconning it all
Part of me hopes that Burnie sort of keeps the "Memories" of these simulations (S14-19) so that the character archs and character moments from these seasons arent just fully lost. Donut finally embracing his pink armor, +everyone respecting him. Tucker and Kaikaina developing a friendship and maybe a budding romance. Caboose coming to terms with Churchs death, everyone understanding Wash's sacrifice by letting himself get shot in the neck for their sakes plus his further development with Carolina, Wash's newfound close friendship with donut (Born from them accidentally time traveling to when Wash shot him over and over like 20 times, ITS COMEDY GOLD) and Grif and Kaikaina finally making up with each other in the Labrynth where Grif finally admits he wasnt drafted and actually abandoned Sis and their mom to try and better himself away from them, and sis apologizing for accidentally burning their childhood house down because she was lonely after grif left and playing with fire (And also her cutting herself) Plus a bunch of other little nuggets like grif learning how much he needs the reds and blues, grif and simmons reunion and admitting how much they need each other, and Lucus turning to the light side and both befriending Grif and following in Wash and Carolina's footsteps on the path to redemption. These moments will all be lost unless theres some workaround where church somehow beams these memories from the simulations into the other characters heads. Then again, it would also mean they have to remember all the really bad character moments that have been added as well, like how season 16 completely retconned that Sis and Tucker made love in the cave at Blood Gultch - they were both so promiscuous and it made so much sense to their characters, and I think everyone unanimously agrees it sucks that they "never actually boned because they themselves time traveled back in a closed loop and accidentally scared themselves off before they could go through with it". Also it would mean they'd have to keep the memory of Sarge completely betraying everyone in Season 15 just out of like, boredom? Sarge was eccentric yes, but pre season 15 it was always in a jokingly father sort of way - and whenever things were serious he dropped the act and was actually a very nuanced and effective tactical leader who was never too stupid to lead his men and get them through a battle. Look at how cunning and brave sarge is during the Recollections trilogy and his ability to rally the troops at any given moment to save the day - then compare it to Sarge in season 15 pathetically begging for forgiveness on his knees and lying about secretly being a good guy only to get rejected by everyone. Add that with the fact donot betreayed everyone at some point, grif abandoned everyone, and doc straight up turned evil and betrayed everyone too, and youve got like, half the cast betraying their friends over the course of these last few seasons. Youd also have to keep the memories of tucker becoming king of cemlot and leading the entire country to death before abandoning them, or the fact tucker will then have to also remember punching a gus cyclops in the balls - and yeah, I guess now that i lay it out theres just as much bad stuff added to the characters as there was good. And i dont know about you guys, but despite the overall silliness of RvB, I love these characters the most when they actually display confidence when its required of them instead of routine tone deaf treachery and patheticness to drive forward instead of real stakes and drama. RvB isnt just funny, its also cool. Also side note, im actually pleased as punch that RvB is going to finally end but on Halo Infinite. Now theyve used every single game and not only come full circle with Burnie starting AND finishing the show, but also ending the show on Halo Infinite - a soft reboot of Halo CE where it all began. Its high time things come full circle - ill finally be able to accept the end of this story and move on.
@@SomeRandomName460 I copy and pasted MY OWN comment from a different rvb video, but that's just because theres no point in completely re-typing all of it out again if I'm literally sharing my own and same exact opinion between two different videos.
The best things about the now retconed seasons were Caboose saying goodbye to Church at the end of 15 and Donut being an actual character instead of a walking sex joke. But I am glad that they are retconing those seasons even if they had a few good moments.
I'm pretty sure all the events in season 14 that take place before season one are cannon. Also, the stuff about Felix and Locus are most likely cannon as well. Guess we'll find out.
Yeah, I'm curious to see where that season falls as well, since it was more just letting other creatives add to the canon of some characters rather than being another season
Well yeah Season 14 was kinda like the writers saying "we really wanted to show you this but there was never a good time in the series... so here it is now :)!" Plus a few extra lil fun ones. Like we had origin stories for Blood Gulch and Felix+Locus, another trio of Freelancers that could still be out there (and definitely is now that season 15 is retconned), and things that happened while Church was inside the unit looking for Tex. It's definitely safe to say most of Season 14 is canon
Honestly this might just be me hoping but I think the voice might be a tiny leftover fragment of Tex/Beta maybe seeing her helmet triggered something in him which is why he keeps seeing the Allison video and is told he’s the one bringing it up
Unfitting voice, Black armor, a different AI then we’re used to seeing in Epsilon and coming in after the Allison memory forced it’s way into control. Seems more logical than the Sigma suggestion
This voice is pretty identical to Sigma's voice during Epsilons confrontation with the Director. Plus the flames, and Sigma isn't among the AI thay flash on screen. Church let Tex go, as much as we'd all love to see her again, she's free
Alll the fans will come back for this one. Rooster teeth finally listened after years of pain and misery to make this last season. I hope they make this a good one
I always had that little hope on my gut for “one last hurrah” with Burnie behind the wheel one last time. That hope was slowly dwindling but to know it paid off was such a great feeling, here’s hoping it’s something to praise
There’s a lot of character development from 14-17. Like Donut’s time adventure, Doc resolving his issues with O’Malley, Griff’s storm off and eventual rescue mission, Sarge let his need to be a soldier go after fighting “himself”, Caboose got to say bye to church, Wash got shot in the neck….I’m actually really glad that’s not happening…maybe he’ll be fine this season. I’m happy they’re ret-coning this, they could easily put all this stuff in the new season in new ways. Can’t fucking wait.
I really liked how emotional Wash's story got, so I'll always look at that part of the newer seasons fondly because it actually tugged on my heart a bit. Then again I'm sure this season will as well given the circumstances
@@HUMADUCKBungie intended the Forerunners to be humans so that it is ironic that the Covenant who worship the Forerunners are knowingly/unknowingly the killing actual Forerunners. Knowingly because the Prophets knew about humans being Forerunners and what the rings actually but it was already too late and they would’ve most likely lose all control of the Covenant if they were to tell the truth. Unknowingly because everyone else that isn’t one of the Prophets are unknowingly killing the very people that they worship. Now you got 343 changing all of that. They turned the Forerunners into some weird robotic force wielding vampires. And worst of all, changing Halo’s message about believing, finishing the fight against all odds into a generic chosen one story in one fucking cutscene. Remember the bitch Librarian? She somehow knew Master Chief would exist and created altered DNA for John millions of years before he’s even born. So it becomes a prophecy and her prophecy in a way is at fault why the Covenant and Human war even happens because it’s part of her prophecy. Dogshit writing. The whole dilemma of Master Chief being either a machine or human was somewhat interesting because of Cortana’s existence, but failed because they killed off Cortana and made her into to the female space version of the funny mustache guy from WW2.
I hope they keep some parts of the simulations somehow. Like Grif learning Spanish and Locust helping them out and Doc finally snapping at them for constantly forgetting about him. I hope that happens again.
I dropped off Red vs Blue when they did that time travel season. Admittedly though, I wasn’t super into the seasons after 13. Lotus was freaking awesome though. It’s a bit of a shame that he’s gone. Regardless, they actually found a way to get me somewhat interested in the series again, which I’m really impressed by. Though, all the Rooster Teeth controversies over the years have me hesitant to dip back into anything they make. I LOVED their stuff as a teen, but I try to keep my distance from them now.
Genuinely wouldn't be surprised. Honestly, a lot of big name TH-camrs are regaining control of their content/channels it seems (Ian and Anthony now own Smosh 100% again) so Burnie coming back to make RvB not only have a final season, but a high note to go out on feels appropriate.
The only thing I’ll miss is the developing relationship between Carolina and Wash and yes I know it pretty much didn’t go beyond season 15 thanks to Wash getting shot but I felt and still feel that it was a good development for Carolina’s character and it’s nice to see Wash get a win. Maybe that’ll return in restoration, maybe not regardless I can’t deny I’m looking forward to it.
I honestly stopped watching TV not long after season 13. I forgot exactly but somewhere around S15. this is by far the best thing RT could have done to not only save the show but even improve in these wacky random seasons. I can watch it without having to wonder if I'm on LSD
A well earned sub. I agree with the vast majority of this, though I doubt we will see Elijah back, as much as I would love to see it. That said, I'm hopeful for this season, for RT and for an ending RvB has always deserved after all that it has created and given rise to.
To be fair, my Elijah comment is more of a pipe dream than an actual prediction. I selfishly want the original voice cast of each character to appear in one way or another to say goodbye
Anyone else love the fact that caboose and sarge, the red and blue characters, don't have any special weapons or are holding more than one, they just have their own signature guns, on both sides of tucker.
Man i forgot this show was even a thing yet alone still being made, it sounds less fun and more drama filled than i remember it being at the start lol.
I don't think it is, because when all the fragments appear behind Church Omega is one of them, but Sigma is not. The flames show up as the mystery AI monologues. Also the things he says like "I have a goal, a purpose" makes more sense with Sigma than Omega since he represents ambition. Also I think the line at the beginning "You have a new voice" is a reference to how he won't be voiced by Elijah Wood.
i came up with an idea after the original finale, since the meta's suit was the last place the alpha existed, it would be neat if the councilor was getting an AI added to it to recover any remnant of it since we never got any conclusion on the suit, now that epsilon has reunited with the suit where the alpha last existed, something may develop. And the idea that this fragment is sigma that would make this idea have more ground as now the plot is seemingly going to center more on sigma being antagonistic searching for the alpha again
I don’t know about the retcon I don’t think the other seasons were great but I liked that caboose was able to get some closure and I think it was one of the most impactful part of the series
Even though i did enjoy some or the shizno seasons.. (keyword SOME, alot of it sucks including zero) its probably the right choice. Having time travel in this would just complicate everything even worse than the shizno paradox already suffers at
Never been a fan of retconning details, but I can make an exception for this one. Everything beyond season 13 was *watchable,* but it did feel off. This would cleanly explain it all away and still keep the core story intact. I'm all for it.
It’s a breath of fresh air when a studio takes what fans didn’t like and put a positive creative spin on it. (Like making Raiden a cyber-ninja) Addressing it and fixing it rather than ignoring it happened at all. Too bad 343 can’t seem to figure this out with the actual Halo franchise. Seems like with every new game, they like to pretend events in the previous games never even happened.
I actually hope this goes well enough to continue at some point hopefully not like in a year or 2 but given enough time to keep up the story for maybe another 2 seasons as ending on 21 would be funny and the fact I absolutely just love this show
While I'm sure Burnie and Matt could write this season in a way to open up to more content later, I don't think they're going to. It's already up in the air with how much of the original cast will be back, and that alone will make it break RvB content for some people, and I'm sure many of the people behind RvB are tired of being obligated to the show by this point too.
I think that mystery fragment is actually Beta, aka Tex. Tex has used a voice changer in the past, and Beta is telling Church that he will inevitably fail every time, something that Beta, the fragment of failure, knows all too well. And yeah, Church tried to forget Tex, but like the memory of Alison, it came back. And back to the voice change real quick, I don't think they have Kathleen anymore, so she can't come back to voice Tex, so they gotta go with a voice that Tex has used in the past, or at least a similar one.
I originally thought that the figure talking about Alpha meant Alpha was out there alongside the original fragments (i dont really believe that the AI were able to be killed by an EMP. Seems like a flaw to me) but youre idea of epsilon sigma trying to form the alpha in someway using epsilon makes a bit more sense
How do you retconned season 14 to 18 of Red vs Blue and make it believable so that everyone is okay with it? It was all simulation done by one of the best AI. When I heard that this was going to to be the final season of Red vs Blue I was okay because the last seasons being boring, but when I saw the prolog I got hype. They handle the retconned so well. It fit in so well with the story of RvB. I can't wait for this season. i hope they get everyone back.
I presumed that the other fragment speaking was tex, using the voice simulator again similar armour too so that would make sense especially if they were showing all the fragments and Tex was created by alpha so why not epsilon too. She had to still be in their somewhere
Curious to see what they do as this wouldn't be the first time they did 'AI simulations' as a season or explanation. I am more curious to see if 14-19 were just simulations or if everyone ended up experiencing some of them or at least those linked to Church. It will be interesting to see how it all plays out. Then again... I think half the reason why we are curious... is to see if Griff will still know how to speak Spanish. After all he needs to know it know what our favorite Spanish speaking robot is saying... and not provide any translations.
@@SeathThePawn I've only seen Joel comment about how they haven't reached out to him since, but that he had some lines recorded for future PSAs. I'm hoping they'll patch things up.
Personally, I'm not completely mad about the retcon, although I do have some issues with it. Season 14 I didn't mind, even though it was a weird season in all honesty, and I could see some of those stories being Church's simulations, while others did actually happen, like the stories set before season 1. Season 15 I will admit was my least favorite season of the show before season 18 came out, although looking back at it now, I don't think it's completely bad honestly, I thought the Blues and Reds were interesting at least, although I didn't like how it teased that Church was back again, only for it to be a fake out. Season 16 I've never mind, I mean, there being time gods was weird, but it at least gave Donut a role in the show, plus, the time travel gave some interesting dates to the RVB timeline, like the beginning of the Project Freelancer flashbacks in season 9 are set in 2548, and season 15 being set in 2558 (while I think I remember season 1 being stated before to be set in 2552), which was interesting to know, as well as Caboose apparently being one of the founders of Rooster Teeth in 2003, which I always thought was funny and it confirms that RT exists in RVB. Season 17 I actually do really like, I mean, the time travel here does mess up the one in season 16 (which showed time travel as a predestination loop, while season 17 involves more being able to change the timeline, even if that's base off the ending of season 16), with the ending even completely erasing all of season 16's events, which should mess up the timeline honestly (given of how season 16 showed the Red and Blues helped impact history), and season 17 completely erasing season 16 also makes it feel completely pointless (since season 16 never happened now in the timeline). Season 18 I honestly really hate, it's my least favorite season of the whole show, I didn't really care for the new characters, it was all CGI with no Halo gameplay at all, the villain's backstory could have been done a little better (even the Blues and Reds had a better backstory in season 15), Tucker should not have lost his sword, it was the shortest season of the show, now I get the Reds and Blues' story feels like it should be over, especially after all they've been through, but in that case, they should have just ended the show with season 17 then, with no season 18 (even though I do personally think season 13 was the best ending the show could have made), but regardless, season 18 exists, rather we like it or not (just like the Star Wars Sequel Trilogy). So yeah, even though I'm not happy they're doing another retcon (which seems to be a trend nowadays with big franchises, which I'm not really a big fan of), but regardless, I'm hopping season 19 is a great ending to the show either way.
I..I just...I..wow this is a thing..when I finished the trailer I was left speechless and I don't normally get left that way by most things. But this is just wow I can't even go into my thoughts just cause everything is so jumbled but I am happy Burnie is working on it and ending it even if I wished maybe possibly Miles could write like an episode since it's off the back of his final moments as the main writer for season 11 to 13. But besides that and wanting Joel to come back as Caboose I just am so excited and some how my thoughts on the future of this show went from ehh do I really wanna watch a trailer to OMG this is so good I can't wait.
The only thing I’ll be a little upset we don’t still get: Wash’s brain damage. That was a really dramatic part of the post-Chorus story. Though they did ruin it in Zero so hey
If the other seasons of Red vs Blue are simulations does that mean there are freelancers still alive? If so, having them come back into this would be cool. Also, the idea of the sigma being trapped in a suit with Caboose is hilarious 😂
@AlFish if you read this I'm imagining in my head that sigma is laughing at church knowing that he's gonna fail over & over again that sigma acting confident thinking/knowing that in his own mind he will achieve metastability & become human/alpha & replace church
Like a guy said in the comments of that trailer The newer seasons were full of good moments, but lacked sow thing that brought the moments together or gsved them pay off
Wow, I just realized I haven't watched RvB since the Freelancer Saga ended. Guess this is as good a time as any to binge up to 13 and then hop back on board.
Hang on... Didn't Hargrove say that he was looking at acquiring an AI? There was that one scene where he was talking w/ Felix & Locus about the Meta's armor, and I'm pretty sure he mentioned trying to buy an AI. I'm trying to remember, are there any Fragments that we DIDN'T see get absorbed by the Meta?
The only thing I disagree with retconning is the moment between Wash and Carolina near the end of Season 17. I personally think it was one of the most heartfelt character interactions in the whole series and I hope they'll re-do it here.
I would like to add one thing I have already seen one creator pull something like this ever heard of Dragonball GT?? *and then!!!!* to no one's surprise people from that timeline show up in the main timeline only this time in the reverse order of the other timeline and of course said Creator is likely thinking he's sneaky and that we wouldn't notice see you can't have it both ways you can't say I'm gonna retcon this chunk and then make parts of said chunk appear in the main timeline the ones doing this season better be absolutely sure there's no other way to handle this because retcons can be dangerous overall.
Yeah… for me, I was more a “end with RVBVBVR” where we said goodbye to church. Caboose always being the viewer themselves. Especially with a train wreck of art style of the Shinzo saga and the fact that zero took the classic ideas of “the aliens are idiots” to “aliens are gods.” But definitely happy we will be able to find out about post season 13. Although one thing I originally wanted with that ending, was instead of just dying, church sacrifices himself to split into the fragments and give them to the RVB group. Basically bringing us back to classic sigma point but it would have been sigma taking over Lopez or something lol. Although then at the end, have the villain sigma gather the AI and RVB group, just to recreate the alpha that ends up being epsilon (church) as memory has always been the key. Then end with a classic scene of the group saying “let’s go home” and end the saga with Simmons and griff zoom in and ask “ever wonder why were here” Griff just saying “no clue man but I’m happy I’m here with you” and Simmons go “what? No! I’m meaning why are we back at this shit home after being war heroes! Oh never mind” and zoom out and fade to black. Then have post card pics of each character with ending stories. ❤️
Im so fucking beyond hyped. Maybe Tucker will dawn the Meta suit throughout the Final season....maybe its not actually sigma talking to him but Tucker using a memory of sigma and thats why the figure uses the EVA helmet. It may also be why Sigma used the phrasing since Tucker has heard Simmons and Griff...Definitely with two Fs....have that conversation before. I will also like to add that 14 is an anthology that takes place over season 1-13 so i do not believe that season will be retconned. As someone who saw 13 as the definitive ending after watching 15, and recognizing that the future seasons would be souless creations using branding for profit and watching the series and community deteriorate before my eyes, having Burnie Burns come back to restore, repare, recomplete and send off HIS CREATION is the most beautiful thing. As an artist in physical media I can only imagine what it would be like to create a finished image, be forced to give it away and then have that person essentially give it to a stranger and say "here, finish it" and have them rego over the entire piece. Top to bottom. That I had thrown blood sweat and tears into. To give it back to Burnie, despite it being broken, so that he can restore what is HIS and his alone, despite the paperwork, is all a creator like Burnie could ever have asked for. Its what many creators in the media industry have ever hoped for and never got. I know it means the world to him, to be able to go back and send his work off one last time. It means the world to me that Red vs Blues Legacy will end how it reigned. I hope they sign some Netflix deals so as many people can see tge new season as possible. When it was streaming it was #1 in the U.S.A for multiple weeks straight. And stayed top 10 for a few months before everyone watched it. But even then it popped back into the top 10 off and on. Then once the contract started coming to an end everyone watched it again and it shot back up to #1 before vanishing.
I don’t know how to feel about this. On one hand it retcons zero which is great on the other hand I did like what they did with some of the post season 13 stuff
I honestly really liked season 15. I started watching RVB when season 14 was just ending and 15 was starting. I liked the Whole Reporter story and I’m kinda bummed it’s not canon anymore. HOWEVER glad everything else is gone lol
I did enjoy that story and was intrigued about the prospect of sim troopers turning on the organization. The story with Washington also got me a few times too. Who knows, just because it was a simulation doesn't mean a similar story can't canonically play out, at least according to Church 😂 Ps, nice profile pic
They aren't retconning Sea14. It was an anthology season. And one episode was literally a simulation. Some took place before the show and some took place in different universes
Maybe not Sigma. Maybe Omega because of the black armor. And it was always the strong one. Wanted to do everything because it felt it was the only one strong enough to win. Other then Beta or Tex.
Im sad the Chorus arc is being retconned because I actually loved that season, Locus and Felix were perfect villians and made the reds and blues push themselves
The final season takes place as the Chorus arc ends, nothing with Locus and Felix will be retconned other than Locus' involvement with the wash getting shot storyline!
I agree, I wouldn't be surprised if this version of Sigma (remember, the fragments here are technically all a part of Church and not the original fragments) ends up getting Church to agree with him in the end.
I'm always hesitant with retcons like this in general especially after Danganronpa V3 because it's way to easy to mess up in my opinion. I never actually finished season 17 or saw Zero so I don't personally get the hate but I hope this seasons ok.
I think the new voice may either believe is omega I agree possibly sigma but they're was two other fragments that are still not accounted for which I would be interesting when I'm interested in seeing if this season holds is you already know what happens to season 13 but we don't get to see the ending and that we get to finally see it now What if we get to see the other fragments or what if because we all believe that the meta Lost his abilities to lose all those AI but what if their digital data codes were somehow still in the armor and ultimately were to be reactivated Just a theory I'm throwing out on that one but would be interesting to see or get some insight if Malcolm hargrove may or may not have taken the other two fragments that we've been wanting information on cuz if you go and watch season 10 where text was looking into data you could literally see all the named fragments and there were two that were still unaccounted for and if hargrove does have that could it be possible that he still has agent texts and her AI form because we know what happens to Phyllis who's to say that it won't be impossible for something other would just be dropped on us like a massive full-blown overall even though this is going to be the final season we all know this but would be interesting
I haven't watched the show since I was like 13 when Washington was wounded and they stopped putting the latest seasons on YT and Netflix dose anyone know where I can watch this series again I miss it and I'd love to watch the latest episodes
I jumped off the boat when we started having Gods who were actually cosmic AI. I don't know anything past that part. But, if this is retconning everything past this fight, I have "mixed" feelings. On one hand, yay, no more God Ai, (Or live action footage of Gus as a Cyclopse, seriously, WTF were they smoking when they pitched and filmed that) but that also means that the story with Washington struggling to recover from being shot in the head/throat, along with the whole arc with the RVB's Doppelgängers. Couldn't we just retcon everything that happened after that arc instead?
I haven’t watched any RT content in awhile especially hearing about the controversies the company was dealing with. And yeah season 15-18 was disappointing to me especially with other RT series such as RWBY. But since they’re gonna make a final season of RvB with the OGs themselves, I might as well come back one last time.
I am upset that a lot of 14-17 are being retconned honestly. Not every episode in 14 was amazing for me, but season 15 was one of my favorite seasons ever. Grif got so much character development and I loved it. 16 and 17 had their funny moments and while yes the story was ridiculous with time travel, each season also gave good character development to basically the whole cast. Zero was cool but I didn't care for the plot personally even though I liked some of the characters (Fiona in RvB is great). I'm looking forward to Restoration to see what they do to end the show, but it is bittersweet
There's a chance that this isn't actually Epsilon, either. There are no fragments here that weren't in the Meta's head when Alpha entered it before Washington supposedly hit the Emp. Even though they say there were two others that Epsilon *definitely* should've remembered as well. This could actually be taking place in the Meta's head at Command. The memory fragments wouldn't be memories, they're the actual fragments, trying to help put the Alpha "back together" by letting him deal with his trauma as Epsilon. The only part that sucks about this theory is that it removes, basically, *all* character and story development for the past 15 years.
It does fix some problems I had with the series in general, though. Like Epsilon fully recreating Beta again, somehow. And how the Director was able to recreate Beta over and over and over without the Alpha. How Epsilon was able to set his memories on tasks as if they were fragments. Why the Progenitors were the same species as the aliens that impregnated Tucker but didn't speak the same language and weren't involved in the Great War and who's tech wasn't the aliens tech, actually... the disconnect is weird and, thus, hard to fully describe. And the blarg aliens weren't involved with what's happening in Chorus at all? Really? Not even a passing interest?
I know it's pretty much impossible but I really hope Burnie just says "fuckit" and reaches out to the OG cast, asking them for one final season together. Then again I doubt Rooster Teeth will allow him to bring them back, and I also dk what kinda terms Burnie and them are all on now
A part of me is kind of hoping we get to see the Reds and Blues faces in the last season. Just to really cement the fact it's truly over. Idk why, it just seems right to me.
that remains to be one of the biggest questions so far: who is actually returning? Joel was recast (you can hear the new VA in some of the newer PSA videos), but we still don't know how much of the original cast that's still in good standing with RT is even coming back yet It's one of life's great questions, I guess
I still hope they will reveal that the original Alpha SURVIVED the EMP that was used against the Meta. Since if Epsilon was this fast.. Then the ORIGINAL AI fragments would be FASTER. Where they possibly transferred INTO another part of the suit that would be IMMUNE to EMP, possibly the life support systems since I could see that system being one that shouldn't be affected in battles. Having the Alpha return as a BAD guy AI *Hating the Reds and Blues*, with Epsilon being the GOOD AI.
Honestly I'm fine with this since zero, 15 and 16 has alot of flaws ( I actually like 14 since it show that not every red and blue Sim until got a happy ending or were just as scared by project freelancers doings and the while what if senerious I really liked.)
I am a season 13 is the true ending kind of guy not because of the dip in quality of the next sessions, but because it was the most perfect ending for a show I have ever seen. All shows come to an end, and like the hero that sacrifices himself, we don’t get to see what comes next. Even though we want to see the fight scene, after epsilon deletes himself, we don’t. And we don’t need to. The show is over. The cherry on top of this finale is the admission of how much that sucks. “Ain’t that a bitch.” With that line, it is the show itself admitting to the viewers that it’s over.
as time went on i moved over to S13 been the true ending due to the massive decline in quality, Zero as a prime example of the mess, The trailer for Restoration alone is better than the previous 4 seasons and genuinely fills me with hope that this Goliath of a series ive watched since season 1 will get the ending it deserves, and not what we was getting which was a death by a 1000 cuts
Honestly, I'm glad. I did not like Zero at all and was hoping they'd find a way to retcon it or at least the whole part with Tucker losing his signature sword
I think the way they did it makes the most sense if they want to return to the finale of season 13. Not mad about that at all
I thought zero was cool, but maybe it could've been its own series instead of being season 18
zero had some crazy ass action scenes but the story was trying to do too much with 6 episodes
@@fumi7643
Zero would have been fine if they would have gotten rid of any RvB references, be it in the title, references in episodes or actual appearances.
I think having the in-canon acknowledgement and it almost being a Church fanfic is hilarious in a respectful way
@@AlFish he did talk about his love for the very generic trashy cheesy action flicks in the Death Battle episode so it also just makes sense he’s come up with it.
Wait, there was Zero Fans?

@@tijera1234 Because it's dumb fun? Everyones got their reasons but to me it just activated something in my brain and it was a blast to watch. I'll always be thankful to Zero for literally changing the course of my life and pushing me forward in my animation career.
Well not all are happy
The fragment is definitely Sigma, and I think you're spot on about the reasoning why. It also is foreshadowing with the fire in Church's helmet
I don’t think it’s him, it’s the meta, or rather the AI amalgamation that controlled the meta
The Fragment of Allison's memories
And the mystery figure is, as Church calls out, the one overflowing the feed with visions of Allison.
How do we actually know it is a retcon though?
@@awesomecake_abc2748 cuz it was said that it was all a simulation, so it never happened
@@awesomecake_abc2748honestly other than the clear hints in the trailer burnie didn’t write it and that was one of the biggest complaints
@@EliteEpicGamerzPretty much my feelings also don’t forget about Locus and I did like the season 15 villains but sacrifices have to be made
@@raphaelrodgers7407
Considering we're going back to the season 13 finale, and it shows clips primarily from 14-18 while discussing running simulations, i think it's very clear to say they're retconning it all
zero was the transformers Michael bay of rvb but like less cool than transformers, have to say I liked all the development of the Shinzo paradox too
Part of me hopes that Burnie sort of keeps the "Memories" of these simulations (S14-19) so that the character archs and character moments from these seasons arent just fully lost. Donut finally embracing his pink armor, +everyone respecting him. Tucker and Kaikaina developing a friendship and maybe a budding romance. Caboose coming to terms with Churchs death, everyone understanding Wash's sacrifice by letting himself get shot in the neck for their sakes plus his further development with Carolina, Wash's newfound close friendship with donut (Born from them accidentally time traveling to when Wash shot him over and over like 20 times, ITS COMEDY GOLD) and Grif and Kaikaina finally making up with each other in the Labrynth where Grif finally admits he wasnt drafted and actually abandoned Sis and their mom to try and better himself away from them, and sis apologizing for accidentally burning their childhood house down because she was lonely after grif left and playing with fire (And also her cutting herself)
Plus a bunch of other little nuggets like grif learning how much he needs the reds and blues, grif and simmons reunion and admitting how much they need each other, and Lucus turning to the light side and both befriending Grif and following in Wash and Carolina's footsteps on the path to redemption.
Why do I feel like this comment was stolen..?
Only one episode of sea14 was simulation
@@SomeRandomName460 I copy and pasted MY OWN comment from a different rvb video, but that's just because theres no point in completely re-typing all of it out again if I'm literally sharing my own and same exact opinion between two different videos.
Did they confirm they're using Infinite? They're definitely using UE5 given the end card in the trailer.
@@effortlessfury I mean, they're using Infinite for the current RVB PVA's. So maybe?
I wouldn’t bet on that.
I liked season 15 the only thing I liked about 16 and 17 was donut had a time to shine. So I'm not too heartbroken about the Retcon
I'm glad our boys will soon get a proper goodbye...I just hope they all have a happy ending

Initially it was available for people at RTX. I saw it live. I cried.

It’s funny, how red versus blue, more compelling, thorough, and complete story than halo infinite or anything 343i puts together.
Halo 4 and Infinite had a good story
@@HUMADUCKnot better than RvB
@@HUMADUCKno they didn’t. They have mediocre stories at best. HW2 in the “343” era was the best. Both could’ve really good but were just terrible
I'm amazed the fight between Halo 5's two leads was leagues weaker than fights in Red Vs Blue.
Anyone else feel like its Burnie doing damage control and trying to let his baby go out on a high note?
I was wondering if this was a possibility but I'm not surprised considering the character and his origin
Technically, Caboose does have a special gun since it has Freckles inside to help him not kill his teammates

I actually think the talking mystery AI is Omega, cause later on it says we and then that's when the flames of Sigma show up.
@@InitialPCI also think that since he is in Maine's armor, that maybe it is "powering" Sigma or Sigma is familiar with this armor the most.
2:48 Wait, Sigma was voiced by Elijah?! Holy- now that I think about it, I can totally hear it. That's actually incredibly cool!
The Mysterious A.I. has an Eva Suit, just like Meta, IT'S OBVIOUS IS SIGMA
i came up with an idea after the original finale, since the meta's suit was the last place the alpha existed, it would be neat if the councilor was getting an AI added to it to recover any remnant of it since we never got any conclusion on the suit, now that epsilon has reunited with the suit where the alpha last existed, something may develop.
I wonder if they can rope back Joel as well for this.
In an ideal world I'd like to see the entire OG cast return to finish the show, but sadly I don't think it'll happen
I think we'll still have Caboose at least. Wish Joel could voice him tho
“path to victory”
epic worm reference
Yeah, I'm wondering about that too.
I presumed that the other fragment speaking was tex, using the voice simulator again similar armour too so that would make sense especially if they were showing all the fragments and Tex was created by alpha so why not epsilon too. She had to still be in their somewhere
RvB was at its best in the Chorus trilogy, so.... hard to blame them for going back to that storyline for the final season.
The only piece left to make this the finale it deserves to be is to bring back Joel Heyman as Caboose.
Yuup
Won't happen sadly. Joel was offered at one point to continue to be Caboose's VA, but refuses to return to RT in any way last I heard...
@@SeathThePawn I've only seen Joel comment about how they haven't reached out to him since, but that he had some lines recorded for future PSAs. I'm hoping they'll patch things up.
Tbh I was hoping that S15-16 would stay. Unfortunate but understandably retconned for the final season
And season 17.
I do really hope the ending is a happy one
What better way to end the story, whether we knew it or not it all started with Church and its all going to end with Church
Being that season 14 was an anthology, the retcon helps in a way.
i did stop season 14 which felt like a drag. This is definitely gonna get me back.
HEY!!!! It. Is. Called. The. Grif. Shot!
Like a guy said in the comments of that trailer
The newer seasons were full of good moments, but lacked sow thing that brought the moments together or gsved them pay off
I used to pray for times like this
Pov simulation troopers
Wow, I just realized I haven't watched RvB since the Freelancer Saga ended. Guess this is as good a time as any to binge up to 13 and then hop back on board.
Great time to get caught up!
I honestly think the mystery fragment is Tex but it could be Sigma
Who knows, just because it was a simulation doesn't mean a similar story can't canonically play out, at least according to Church 😂
Ps, nice profile pic
They aren't retconning Sea14.
It was an anthology season. And one episode was literally a simulation. Some took place before the show and some took place in different universes
The newer seasons were meh at best but had its moments, and then zero was terrible, and this trailer was very good and cant wait to see it
Maybe not Sigma. Maybe Omega because of the black armor. And it was always the strong one. Wanted to do everything because it felt it was the only one strong enough to win. Other then Beta or Tex.
I haven't watched rvb since season 13. Always wondered what happened but felt like it was already over with that.
@@AlFish oh shit I must've forgotten that, and I just finished rewatching all the way to S15 from the beggining rip
could the mystery fragment be actually the epsilon fragment of church.
So it sounds like sigma is gonna be the necessary evil to reform the alpha when church is gone. In a less evil way than he was originally doing.
I agree, I wouldn't be surprised if this version of Sigma (remember, the fragments here are technically all a part of Church and not the original fragments) ends up getting Church to agree with him in the end.
I'm beyond, they did it perfectly in a funny, respectful, self-aware way
I'm always hesitant with retcons like this in general especially after Danganronpa V3 because it's way to easy to mess up in my opinion.
What do you think of Red vs Blue: Out of Touch?
I haven't watched the show since I was like 13 when Washington was wounded and they stopped putting the latest seasons on YT and Netflix dose anyone know where I can watch this series again I miss it and I'd love to watch the latest episodes
They took it off netflix but they never stopped uploading it on yt as far as i remember, at the very lease you can watch every season here now.
This is a big fuck up. I liked the shisno trilogy. They should focused more on that instead of retconing it
I am upset that a lot of 14-17 are being retconned honestly.
Sick i dont have to care about the time travel or the gods i didnt even bother with zero
I think the fragment is tex
Ohhh...it was all a simulation...ok....great news
*inside my mind*
MOTHERF-
Gonna be a bit of an issue if caboose doesn't come back
Don't recon the shisno trilogy it was low-key really good. Great character devoplment for Donut, Carolina and wash. Don't throw that away
This certainly a breath of fresh air after RT was been playing hot potato with with the writers for years. Glad that Burnie came back for one more go.
That would be cool, but I kinda prefer not actually knowing
Grif and Simmons are the opposites or alpha and sigma
Question. what are they gonna do about caboose?
wasnt joel let go??
that remains to be one of the biggest questions so far: who is actually returning?
Joel was recast (you can hear the new VA in some of the newer PSA videos), but we still don't know how much of the original cast that's still in good standing with RT is even coming back yet
It's one of life's great questions, I guess
Thankfully everything after season 13 was a non-canon event, thanks to Spider-Man 2099
Tbf, we don't know what it is. They haven't confirmed it to be a retcon and if so, why do it on the final season?
Say what you all want about everything past 13, but season 15 brought us one of the best RVB seasons ever, easily a top 3 contender
as time went on i moved over to S13 been the true ending due to the massive decline in quality, Zero as a prime example of the mess, The trailer for Restoration alone is better than the previous 4 seasons and genuinely fills me with hope that this Goliath of a series ive watched since season 1 will get the ending it deserves, and not what we was getting which was a death by a 1000 cuts
