@@uzer7_7Under HYBE there are sublabels that manage and debut their own groups. Big Hit has BTS. Source Music has Le Sserrafim, Belift has Enhypen and Illit, Adore has New Jeans and so forth.
Having multiple labels under HYBE is a new thing and we’re witnessing some of the cons to the pros of this idea

It is not a marketing strategy anymore. The idol career is at stake. I think it's a Karma. These two girl groups has an issue with Lisa. Illit wants to steal a fandom of Lisa while new jeans bodyshamed her before.. And now both of them are fighting each other 😅😅😅😅 but the worst part is the CEO are fighting each other 😅😅😅.
At this point Hybe is just after Money, He saw how NewJeans Concept became a big hit and decided to debut a new Group with a similar style, concept, dance, music, … He wanted more hits= more Money

I see this as Bang Si Hyuk wanting to make his own version of New Jeans since he couldn't control New👖 with Min Hee Jin on the way. He saw the public's reaction to NJ concept, copied the formula and tweaked it a bit so it woudn't be 100% the same but still has similar vibes. Now he has full control of the other grup and can make them bigger than NJ with promotions, songs and projects. EDIT: This is probably why Min Hee Jin was so angry with HYBE copying them. HYBE can give the other group all the resources to make them the next most popular girl group but with Min Hee Jin's copied gg formula.

HYBE is a corporation...That's why. Being a corporation is so much more different than simply being an ent. company like the Big 3 They don't treat idols as artists with different colours but as products to make money. Even Bang ShiHyuk has said he wanted to remove the k from kpop. NewJeans growth was organic (as possible, considering they are from HYBE), ILLIT, I wish the best to the girls, isn't. It's weird to get so many brand deals and records with barely 40 million views and almost nobody actually knowing the members lol. I don't blame either of the groups since they have no control over their concept and all. BUT NWJS kinda siding with Heejin shows that maybe ADOR's CEO threats her idols well. (No I ain't siding with anybody but NWJS)

I disagree they didn't come up with the concept so why should they be pissed? They didn't write the song or came up with the image or made the dance so tbh if they really are pissed they are just big jokes. Any of these Illit girls could have been NJ and vice versa and nothing would have changed. If NJ is Like GIDle Soyeon ok they can be pissed but clearly that's not the case.

Yea, NewJeans didn’t create Y2K. Y2K existed since like the 80s, & that sense of fashion was returning back and it became popular within this generation. NewJeans or maybe the company saw this popularity outburst with aesthetic y2k and took it for a concept to gain popularity.

You cannot deny that there are similarities between ILLIT & NewJeans. If you are saying "oh because there are in the same co" "BM also copying BlackPink". PLSS STOP. Hybe works with multi label hence, encourage diversity. If one gp similar with another gp in different label, then what is the point of debuting the 2nd grp ??? Hence, Hee Jin accusations does valid ! Its different with YG as they are in the same co, hence its normal to share the similarities. Now, the only hope is to ensure NJ qualities is higher than ILLIT if HEE JIN wanted to make sure NJ distinct to ILLIT esp in terms of the vocal.
That’s actually good point, if she wants them to stand out, give them vocal lessons. All about looks and concepts but the songs don’t have any message just plain catchy.
I always wondered why hybe would debut a group so similar to newjeans and now it makes sense with the feud between hybe and min heejin.
It’s one of Hybe’s subsidiary companies that is debuting the group, not Hybe itself. The company is called Belift Lab. If we’re willing to separate Min Heejin from Hybe, then we should be able to do the same for other managers.

I'm glad you've talked about it because, outside of Korean media, everyone is siding against Min Hee Jin. I don't approve of her methods but it's clear that Hybe is copying her concept. They saw how well NewJeans's concept worked and are now just blatantly copied it. Bang Si Hyuk has never taken an interest towards NewJeans and, with his power, he can market Illit as much as he wants. There is no way anyone can say Min Hee Jin is wrong for voicing her complaints
What appalled me was when NJ succeeded (during OMG times) he (Bang) texted MHJ “You like it that much huh?” I mean even if they are a sub label how could you mock your colleague on their success (sure u thought it won’t work and Le serrafim is gonna beat IVE).. but the profits anyway go to Hybe .. that’s pure jealousy.
@@Dara_107 I saw a lot of people sayingL Bang is not that bad because he gave her 18% of the shares, but it was most likely in her contract originally that she would be either given shares if the group succeed, or she would be allowed to buy shares at a preferential price. Sending passive aggressive texts is really below the belt.
@@jeffmonroe4505 I don't agree that she should have shut up if she noticed that ILLIT was heavily inspired by NJ concepts (whether or not she is wrong, she did debut NJ from scratch and if that bothered her, well, that bothered her). HYBE owns ADOR and NJ that's clear AF, but if she asked for more decision-making powers (aka be able to sign big contracts without having to go through hoops) and HYBE hit her with a lawsuit for trying to steal the company that's not right. As a CEO she should at least be able to voice concerns without being dismissed and then sued.

Be lift lab has been planning a girl group since enpyhen. Be lift lab was half owned by cjenm till recently. Illit creative team comes from cjenm not hybe.

I feel like people genuinely don’t understand how and why min heejin is saying what she is saying.
There are some groups in Kpop whose strength lays exactly in their distinctive concepts and sounds.
New Jeans is one of those. You can easily hear 20 seconds of a New Jeans song or a few shots of a music video and point out easily that that’s their work because they have established such an identity that sets them apart from everyone else.
Another example of this is Aespa. (I’m not trying to drag aespa in the convo, just using them as an example).
Aespa as a group has such a distintive image, aesthetic and sound that is really hard to explain but is just so… Aespa. This is an efficient way for groups to establish a brand and put a ‘mark’ on their representative colors to set them aside in the over saturated, over repetitive industry of Kpop.
In my opinion, it is pretty clear what happened here. Bang Si Hyuk realized at some point that New Jeans was having a massive success worldwide, but that he would’ve never been able to control them as a group as long as Min Heejin was the conversation, so he decided to make his own girl group, copied the formula, tweaked it down bit so it wouldn’t be 100% obvious and planned to make them even bigger than New Jeans with appearances and promotions. And let’s not even talk about the rumors of their choreographies replicating sounds and choreos from small artists because I don’t even know what to say there…
Honestly, I just wish people would understand the point. Min Heejin is a bad person and she has said a not of nonsense but this isn’t the case. Seeing people on Twitter justifying this by showing some random pictures saying ‘’ILLIT is not copying New Jeans because Wonhee is wearing a white shirt while Minji is wearing a white blouse!!!!’ Like... be SOOO fr. You know well that everyone thought magnetic was a NJS song the first time they heard it.
Going back to the aespa example… if SM Entertainment released a new girl group with the same formula as aespa where the differences are almost unnoticeable don’t you think that everyone and their mothers would be riding at dawn because of that?
This is the same thing. Neither aespa and New Jeans have CREATED their concepts, but they are the ones who popularized it and who represent it the most in the industry, I think they have a right to feel kinda iffy about it. ILLIT is not to blame, but I’d honestly be a bit pissed if I was a New Jeans member.
Let’s agree what would set them apart is which one can sing live. I don’t side with either but concepts and sound can change, it’s the ones with talents will stay.

It's disappointing to see Hybe allegedly resorting to copying styles from other groups, as well as rumors of them replicating sounds and choreography from lesser-known artists. Originality and creativity should be celebrated in the industry, and it's disheartening to hear of such practices taking place.
Hybe copied Loona Satellite, just listen to Satellite and then Magnetic. You will hear similiarities.

Tbh I don’t know about who’s right but MHJ was right on saying that K-pop has been feeding consumerism and making it a factory.. she wanted to change it with NJ and all.. how companies and fans buy tons and tons of albums and throw it out. I can’t deny it. I miss K-pop till the 2017-18 era.. after which it’s just a blur.. feeding the western markets, random ass English lyrics, loud production .. sigh I just miss old times.

All i know is that the first pic I saw of Illit was the one at the PFW and I legit thought they were Newjeans at first glance. Clearly, I wasn't the only one that thought so😶 I don't really understand why Hybe pushed to have another group from the same company that seems to be in direct competition with NJ. It's a move that obviously was going to take away from Ador market share and give it to BeLift while diluting NJ brand value. Hybe has always declared that the multilabel system allows them to diversify talent and bring new proposals to the table so ... was there any need to make this move when both groups are active at the same time?

Dear Hybe, you cannot force feed a group to people and expect them to have the same outcome as a group that grew an organic fanbase.
Hybe probably thinks they are doing everything right because of how successful their groups are. The problem is: how long will that last? The popularity of Kpop might decrease a lot quickly. And if they feel like they have to milk it now with short term strategies then it might become a self-fulfilling prophecy.

But she didn't do any sexualizing thing to them and MHJ was famous due to f(x)'s concepts and not just bcz of NJ. She won several awards for f(x)'s Pink Tape and 4Walls concept. But my favorites are Electric Shock and Red Light concepts.

New Jeans is a fairly new group, but HYBE was not helping New Jeans with any type of promotion at all, especially compared to Leserrafim and ILLIT. It's pretty clear. I also think MHJ got inspiration from 90s, Y2K, but I think it was really creative as no other person has created a girl group with those themes. You can't compare bubble gum and magnetic, you have to see the entire group as a whole.

Hybe is, to put it plainly, quite cunning and is working desperately to turn everything around to his advantage, but deception has consequences. This is all about money and greed.
Hopefully, this doesn't affect NewJeans because it's not their fault, they've done nothing wrong. All this bad publicity is to do with Min, it must not overshadow NewJeans career, they will have a successful comeback
It has to do with the dirty media smear campaign and greed of Hybe, the burning jealousy of Bang and Hybe's dirty cult connections to the cult DanWorld. Min Hee Jin is the one who supports New Jeans and that's what the vast majority of Koreans think.

I said this before and I’ll say it again. It's so weird seeing people try to discredit MHJ when just a year ago everyone agreed that she did a great job with NJ concept. Yeah Y2K was already a thing but MHJ brought it back in a cute and modernized way for NJ and made it a trend in kpop. Other groups were already doing songs like this for Bsides? Exactly, no other new group had a creative team that dared to make songs like this as title tracks until NJ. Hybe invested millions into NJ? Yes and MHJ could have taken that money and made another generic kpop group. She copied somethings from a Jpop group? Exactly no other person thought it would be a successful thing in kpop. As a creative myself one thing that'll give you peace is separating the art from the person. Whether you like it not evil people can be extremely talented too and there's nothing you can do about it. Idk if the allegations on MHJ is true but there's no denying her talent.. that's why BSH chose to work with her despite her controversial past y'all claim. Getting your style taken away from you as a creative feels like getting robbed. It’s like saying BTS and BP didn’t pave the way internationally for kpop because kpop was already a thing before them, it was, but they made it popular worldwide. People started saying NJ recent comeback sounds like an ILLIT song literally confirming the concerns MHJ and NJ parents had from the beginning. As someone that’s literally obsessed with ILLIT they feel like a group that should have come at least 5 years after NJ. At this point, I really hate HYBE (the company). Tbh, as an outsider (I don't really do girl groups), if you played me "Magnetic" and asked me the artist, I would say New Jeans. Even looking at the design for the album, it looks extremely similar to New Jeans album designs. The MV concept, style, basically everything. I hope HYBE falls. What they stand for now is completely different from when BTS, TXT, and the other trainees who never debuted were struggling in dorms that were falling apart every day. It pisses me off that their struggle lined the pockets of these garbage people. Bang Si Hyuk really pulled a JK Rowling. He turned out to be a terrible person.
