    Thank you Sir for the review. I shot the p365 at the range several months ago. Meh... Shot the P938 Legion at the range today - perfect score on Dot Torture at 10 ft. Sights are unbelievable! The feel, the weight, the triggger pull - all of it suited me just fine. But both guns are CCW, and both fill the bill. So then it comes down to customer preference and the P938 did it for me.

    It’s a great all around pistol th-cam.com/users/postUgkxnX9wE_Q8zvF75Y5iWzTU3Q4FlrtyGApQ , doesn’t fit in plastic glock 19 holsters but will fit in some non plastic ones. The location of the safety isn’t very good because your finger will accidentally activate it but it can easily be removed by pulling on both sides at once. Don’t lose the red o-rings while doing that.

    Thanks for the video! I carry a p938 scorpion edition and love the thing. I have huge hands and always carried full sized guns because of it and have always been leery of not being able to have my pinkie on the grip too. Well this little guy changed my mind completely. Soft recoil, super light weight, comfy as can be to carry daily.

    I sent my P938 back to Sig and had them slick it up. It made a good gun even better. It is the only firearm that I have ever had factory tuned. It was worth it. I also like the fact that it is a metal firearm. I am sure that someday I will give the 365 a chance. Thanks for the video.

    I must have missed this review, only just found it today. I have the P938 SAS with walnut grips. Had it since last summer(2018). It is beyond debate the best EDC gun I have ever owned. It replaced my Kimber Ultra Carry 2 as my EDC gun so that's saying a lot. Somehow at the time I bought it I got it nib out the door for a little over $675. I can't believe you picked the right gun as best in your review. You can't go wrong with the P938. Great review as usual. The kydex holster is a POS, got a custom hand made Wright Leather Works one for mine.

    Thanks for the review. Will be keeping my 938 and not buying the p365. Love the trigger on my 938 around 5 3/4 lb trigger pull. If I buy the P365 living in Massachusetts the trigger will be 10 lbs.......

      I live in MA and have had my 238 for a couple years now. I just picked up a 365 and shot 100 rounds with it. The 365’s a striker fired gun and has a trigger pull somewhere around 4-5 pounds. I’ll have a better idea on the 365’s overall performance after 1,000 rounds or so. My first impression is that it’s a great $500 EDC.

      2 years late, but i just purchased a P938 as a backup/micro carry and I am very pleased. It was between the 365 and the 938. 938 was 50 bucks more, but i couldnt pass it up. I already own 2 other striker fire pistols, so i wanted to get a hammer fired SAO.

    • @michigunsanta8680

      Only disadvantage with the 938 is capacity. But 7+1 carry another 7rd mag if you can’t get it done with 15rds of 9mm you’re probably in huge trouble to begin with. 🤷‍♂️👌 Love my 938 best single stack micro 9mm I’ve ever seen or fired ever! 👍🏻

    I own and primarily conceal carry a P938 Blackwood. I enjoy shooting it for such a small gun. It has been 100% reliable and I am perfectly comfortable with the single action cocked/locked. Keep in mind this is close to a 1911 handgun but not exactly the same, trigger pull is different for example. I have not tried the 365 but it looks like a great fun as well, I don’t think you can go wrong with either one. I think the 938 is very affordable now, I bought it not long after it was released and I felt it in the bank account.

      Morning Wood I think the 938 is overall the better gun, just that big problem they had with the 365 and now the 365xl is killing me. I don’t think I could ever carry one with confidence

    I own the P938 Blackwood, and it is an incredible handgun. I picked up my Gen 2.0 (Jul 2018) P365 last week at Academy Sports for $499.99. I love the X-ray 3 sights...the high contrast front sight makes it super easy to lock in quickly on a target. My hands are small, and the P365 fits me perfectly. Sig knocked it out of the park with this one.

    Loved the video and subscribed. I enjoy your unpretentious no BS style and you covered some things I am curious about. I’m in the middle of a possible trade (my p938 for his P365) and this just made my decision harder! I’ve been carrying my p938 for a couple of years and it’s the best micro/sub compact I’ve ever owned. Tack driver too, even at some distance.
    I might have to keep it.
    Edit..just told the guy I’m keeping mine. If I sold it I’d just end up buying another. Still interested in the 365 though.

    I've been carrying the p938 SAS for the past year and just purchased the p365 last night. These are both absolutely amazing guns. The P938 is a micro 9. While the P365 is considered a micro pistol, in reality it is a subcompact even in its original configuration. The P365XL and the macro especially are not micro pistols.luckily I own both a P938 and a P365XL.

    THANK YOU for making this video! I'm relatively new to pistols and have been looking for an every day carry. I loved the P365 after shooting it, but it bothered me that it didn't have an external safety. If I'm carrying it on my body, that's something I really want. Same with the Glock 43. Then I found the P938 and it seemed like the perfect fit. I still have yet to shoot it & test it out before buying, but this video really helped!

      Marissa Gregoire I own both, I prefer the P 365. I can and do understand your need for an external safety especially for a newer shooter. I think you will find the P 938 a little more snappy which may settle which is best for you. I recommend carrying the P 365 in a holster/sticky holster when carrying in a purse or bag to cover the trigger preventing accidental discharge. P 938 is a wonderful choice but a bit snappy.

    • @cannondaleman1
      @cannondaleman1 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I know your reply is a year old but I also have a safety on my 365. I prefer the safety when holstering it but prefer to not have it on once it's been holstered. SO... what I do is engage the safety before holstering it then once it's secure I reach in and disengage it so it's ready in case I need it and don't have to worry about that extra step. Once I get home and un-holster it, the safety immediately gets re-engaged. Works for me.

    • @meanreversion6849
      @meanreversion6849 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      tinktwiceman carry it like a 1911, one in a chamber cocked and locked with the thumb safety on. It is a single action handgun, it has a shorter trigger pull than striker fired guns (Glock, Springfield XD...) and on top of that it does not have the grip safety you find on 1911 so yea please cocked/locked safety. PRACTICE and if not comfortable with it consider a different platform. Disengaging manual safety has to become second nature, I do it while I remove gun from holster and it’s off before I am on target (maintaining finger off trigger in the process)

    Loved your review! I'm trying to decide between the two. I have large hands and VERY long fingers. Sub compacts generally don't feel well in my hands. I like my fat heavy P229 Elite, but it's too big for a summertime daily carry. I've shot my dad's p365 and loved it, apart from, like you, that massive front dot. I've never shot or even held a p938, but I'm going to a gun show tomorrow and hopefully will at least hold one. On another note,
    I appreciate and have shot some really nice (and stupid expensive) 1911s. While they can be ultra smooth operating, they have never truly felt right in my hands. Trigger distance is too close to the grip is my main issue. Hands too big/fingers too long I guess. I'll still check out the 938 because I love everything else about it. Subscribed!

      California has designed an insane policy under the guise of "safety" to discourage handgun sales. This process is neither easy nor cheap, and if a manufacturer so much as changes ANY feature such as a sight, grip, color, etc, they have to submit an example of THAT variation for testing also. To quote from the Seecamp website:
      "The process is not simple or cheap. Five pistols are subjected to drop tests. This is the easy part.
      Here comes the scary part. Three of those pistols are fired 600 rounds each. If anyone of those pistols has a failure in the first 20 rounds the entire group is rejected. If any one of those pistols has more than six failures, the entire group is rejected.
      The tester will be putting 1800 rounds through pistols that will give his hand a battering after a few hundred rounds.
      If he wears a heavy protective glove, the glove can drag on the slide and potentially cause a failure. If the shooter starts to react to the battering his hand is taking, he might change his grip enough to create a failure.
      Then there is ammo.

    I'm the opposite. Everything about the P 365 makes it a better carry pistol. I own both, I've carried both. The P 365 is every bit as accurate as the P 938. P 365 feels better in hand and felt recoil is milder. Both will shoot accurately out to 50 yards but that's not why you carry either and using that as a reason is poor judgement. Both are CCW pistols whose main purpose is for easy concealment and comfort with very good accuracy. The Big dot on the P 365 is what you want in a self defense pistol over a smaller front sight. All I care to see is that dot and the target in a real use situation I'm not target shooting. Anyone who doesn't see the advantage of 5 more rounds needs to rethink their choices. I won't get rid of my P 938 but I am carrying my P 365 as it's replacement. As of this post the new 15 round magazines were just released and I'm looking forward to the new P 365 XL.

    Good review. Your version of the P938 has the non-contoured grips. If you had a version with the hogue grips with the palm swell, I don't think the P365 would have any advantage in grip feel. You can carry one in the chamber more safely with the P938 due to the external safety and single action design.

    If you haven't already done so and by the sounds of it you haven't, try bench resting the 365 to see point of aim Vs. point of impact. Maybe even 100yds. would be possible with the 365... I've seen it. I've done so on 4 /365's at 20yds. and they drive tacks with the front and rear sight tops completely aligned with each other and the bullseye (~1" circle) cut in half from 3-9 o'clock which is what I prefer as you can easily see you're target.

      Didn't mean you implied the pistol wasn't accurate. Inherently all are more accurate than the person firing them. I thought I heard you mention that the sights may be off a tad or something of that nature. I bench rested all 4 and 3/4 were bullseye high north/south but were ~1.5"-2" left east/west at 20yds. According to the manual, 1/32" or 1/16" (forget which) of rear sight drift moves point of impact 3" at 25yds. I used a universal sight pusher and now at 20yds., after ~2 mag's the bullseye is gone (off-hand). Best of luck and hope you enjoy your new pistol.

I could care less about the extra weight, I love all steel guns. I think that would look really good for sure though. Only thing is that it may be alittle loose where the fit to frame on the SAS wasn’t made for the HD. Not saying it would make it unreliable, it may just rattle alittle more then normal. Don’t believe he mentioned the 365 is polymer framed, the 938 metal or the substantial difference in price. The physical specs of these two guns do not tell the story. It’s the shooting platforms, striker fired vs. hammer fired 1911 style that vastly separates these weapons. Most knowledgeable people in the CCW field agree a gun with a 1911 platform should be carried with a round in the chamber, the hammer back and the manual safety on. To draw and fire in the extremely emotionally charged armed confrontation situation that statistics show lasts only 3 seconds you must be highly (and that cannot be emphasized enough) trained to draw, take the safety off and find your target and fire your gun. In one of his videos Colion Noir admits that even in an artificially charged training situation he forgot to deactivate the safety. It takes 100’s if not 1000’s of presentations of drawing, flipping the safety off and firing to ingrain muscle memory to perform under the most stressful moment of your life. On the other hand the point and shoot striker fired gun will be much easier to operate. I had a 938 and 238 and got rid of both when I honestly assessed my potential in that moment when I need to employ deadly force. Now, I Carry either a 365 or a J frame revolver so I never need to address the issue of a manual safety.

I had some time getting comfortable carry cocked and locked but now it's easy peezy. Just got the Sig P365 and with the 12 round mag, and the Desantis Slim-Tuk it prints. With the 10 round mag it does not. I have not shot the P365 yet but soon will. The grip is too small without a pinky extension. It feels much better with the 12 round mags. I ordered the XL Frame and I'm looking at making it into a P365X. The good thing about the P365, there are now lots of custom parts available to make it yours. Hello,
    { P238 & P938 }
    Okay, I have one, I'll give you some tips on this gun I think you will enjoy "immensely" in list form.
    1) Purchase a Hogue rubber grip for it. (feels MUCH better in the hand) can get a much better purchase on the gun. {about $20}
    2) 2) Use / purchase the 7 round extended mags & carry it that way.
    3) 3 ) Purchase the very best pocket holster (can even be used at the 3 o'clock IWB) get the Blackhawk holster called: "TECGRIP" $8- $14. where ever you put this holster , it's not moving !! {Check for correct size by calling: BlackHawkHolsters} (406) 284-3840 .
    4) Also check out this video on this particular gun for cocked & locked on TH-cam: " Sig P238 & P938. Is it safe to carry cocked and locked " by Sig shooter. Very informative & lets one breathe. {especially trying to help someone}
    5) No way do I carry appendix !!! 3:00-3:30-4:00 is how I carry ( If you want 3 simple & good reasons, ask me)
    6) I carry mine @ the 3:30 position in a VEDDER “Light Tuck” holster. can't go wrong there!! ( it's worth the money!! )
    7) If you don't like the “AMBI” safety on the right side of the P938, call SigSauer and order a P238 safety, go on TH-cam see how to replace ambi with the P238. All this, suggested to me by more than 3 Sig reps on the phone.
    8) And finally, “sportsmansoutdoorsuperstore” has {in stock} 7 round extended mags for the Springfield 911 380, if you have the Sig P238 380,
    it fits it. Sigs P238 380 7 round mags cost $30. { Springfield doesn't make Crap products }

The small footprint allows for even cargo shorts carry in summer, the sights are better (for me), and it's been using only Fiocci for training and Speer Gold Dots for cc without a hiccup for a long time now. The mag capacity issue is real if that's a concern for where you cc but the 938 with a 7 round mag and a back up mag (only way I've ever carried) is fine for me. Both great guns and both are top of the food chain for SD in most environments

    Have you heard of the Sig p938 Legion? P938 has the green X-ray night sights. I’m debating between the Sig p938 Legion and a Smith and Wesson J frame for carry. Any thoughts on the j frame revolvers?

    • @GoldenWebb
      @GoldenWebb  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Pippinm7 I don’t really like snub nose revolvers being honest with you. There just not accurate enough at longer ranges for me to carry with confidence. I recommend a P938 or P365 over any snub nose revolver on the market

    What's your take on the P938 safety that allows racking the slide with the safety engaged? Do you use the feature to load or unload with the safety engaged? Do you have trouble with the slide being pushed out of battery, say, when holstering, because it's not a "slide lock" safety as on the 1911? Does it seem like the lever is shaped more to be out of the way of racking the slide with the safety engaged, than being easy to reach with the thumb?

    • @GoldenWebb
      @GoldenWebb  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Powerfactorguy i love the 938 and it doesn’t bother me a bit being honest. I unload and load with the safety engaged

    I’ve heard that Sig re-engineered the striker assembly. Was that because some of the early striker tips broke off, probably due to excessive striker drag? Do you know in what way(s) the latest striker assembly is different/better? Since TH-cam videos continue to reveal that striker drag remains a problem even with the latest strikers, will the newest striker hold up? Thanks for your input!

    • @GoldenWebb
      @GoldenWebb  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Danny McNeal personally, I don’t think it’s the striker drag anymore, it’s actually because there was a bad batch of strikers made. I heard the newest ones (June/July-present) are all A OK. Hopefully that’s the truth. I believe it’s safe to buy one now, I’ll make a video about it very soon.

    • @dannymcneal
      @dannymcneal 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      GoldenWebb So will striker drag always be present in this model? Meaning Sig doesn’t believe it’s an issue? Or is it just what it is. Personally, I have no issues with striker drag IF it doesn’t wear out the striker prematurely or cause other performance issues affecting daily carry. I do wish Sig would address it in order to put our minds at ease. It’s almost like by Sig NOT addressing it, we’re tempted to think they might be hiding something.

    Sig P365 has major issue's at this time. I can't wait til they fix the problems so I can get one. I won't pay more than $499 for either though so I guess I won't have either.
    I have a Walther PPS M2 for that purpose so I don't really need either.

      I actually ended up making the same call recently. I had done all my research and was planning to get a P365 out of my tax return.. then the return came back less than half the size I expected and I couldn't afford it anymore.. I ended up with the PPS M2 for half the cost of a P365 and so far I like it okay, other than the sights, but there are plenty of aftermarket options available, so that's no big deal there. I do still wish I had the P365 though. The size difference is bigger than you'd think, I had my hands on both.

    The Sig P938 was unfortunately among the most unreliable and inaccurate pistols I ever owned. Just an unending series of failure to feeds and stove piping. For a little Colt Mustang clone that folks are charging $600-$750 for I was greatly disappointed in Sig on this one. When it comes to Sigs, the reputation here in my area is just stick with their older full size lineup. :/

    I’ve read no comments or explanations by Sig concerning “striker drag” on the primer by the P365. Do I understand correctly that Sig has redesigned the striker assembly, because a number of the tips have broken (probably due to striker drag shearing off the tips)? What are your thoughts? Is striker drag still prevalent? Thanks again!
