Three days ago I gave up waiting on a Legion P938 and put new sights on my regular 938, the expense of which takes me out of the market for the Legion. It's like how it always rains after you wash your car.
The move to Cerekote was the right move. The PVD finishes on the two Legions I currently own (P226 SAO and P229 DA/SA) are simply not holding up. My P229 is my EDC and it gets beat around a lot, so the finish on it is far worse off than its big brother that's primarily a range gun for me. For a working gun the finish isn't that big of a deal until you consider that the bare metal is just an invitation for corrosion. Still, for what you pay for a Legion, you'd expect for the finish to stay on it a bit longer than mine did. Fit and function are flawless otherwise and I trust my life to my P229 Legion.
John Vinnedge I agree with the you. My Legion is finished in PVD and the finish is definitely coming off. Sig stated because the gun is anodized there shouldn't be any problems with corrusion even though the PVD is coming off. They need to refinish the older guns in PVD at their expense. I also had a brand-new one replaced by Sig after buying it brand with bad finish problems. Customer service was mediocre at best. Lots of arrogant attitudes and misinformation from them, especially for a 1400.00 gun. Wasnt pleased at all. Great guns, but poor finish.
@@johnvinnedge9429 I spoke to SIG about the finish on my P229 they said they will be providing a service to Legion series pistols to refinish them with the new Cerekote very soon and it will run about $95 for slide only. He couldn't give me a cost on the whole gun. I will be sending mine in as soon as it's available.
@@Pippinm7 Bought a used one from a private seller. There was a small scratch on the slide but everything else was great. Very easy to shoot accurately.
@@BigCampy That is awesome congrats! Yeah the reason I liked the sig 938 legion was because I figured it would be a smooth transition with a lot of the features I like about my SAO p226 legion!
Dude your totally right!! And a longer grip and barrel would maybe be nicer too... But I love how thin it is just wish it was a double stack and I could get all my fingers on it
I bought my P320 X5 legion in Argentina. I paid more than what it cost in the USA however, when I tried to register the serial number to get the coin, it was invalid. I called Sig Sauer and they said I am not elegible because the gun was for export. I really don't care if it was for export, I just wanted my coin. I asked them to ship the coin to Hawaii and also they said no. Last Sig Sauer product I buy, I am so disappointed.
Thats a common thing with many famous and expensive brands. Thats why I like beretta, CZ, Sarsilmaz and Zastava. With these 4 brands, you get more for what you pay for. Good luck dear.
Just got the notification 5 minutes ago on 11/15/18. It's nice to be snag free, but too many issues on mine. Going with CZ and Beretta. I think Sig is trying to do too many things at once!! It's affecting quality control. Great company but needs to slow down. Many a company has gone under by over expansion quickly. Good luck!! Rich
Donna Donna 100% agree. It’s like they have a new gun, optic, ammo, or suppressor come out every day and the quality they were known for has gotten away from them. I have legion p226 SAO and it’s amazing. I will be sticking with the p226 and p229 for a couple more years until they get their quality under control.
SIG - please make this pistol with an all steel frame. I and several friends are waiting for this development and would buy the pistol if this were done.
@@kimisdaman Only real advantage I could see is the steel frame helps absorb some recoil.. But on a firearm that size, would it really help compared to the added weight?
This is originally a Colt Mustang. If they had their act together, they'd be making one. Bad managment at Colt. Harley Davidson is going the way of Colt, I predict.
Hello there, I have a question regarding the magwell and magazine. The 7 round magazine for this model looks different from the 7 round magazines for other p938s, as those do not have magwells. Will those 7 round magazines fit in the legion model with magwell, or will the plastic extender be prohibitive? Will classic, non-extended 6 round magazines fit? And can you order extra 7 round magazines that would fit in the magwell? Thanks.
Kind of resembles my Ruger LCP .380 Problem with something so small is the stock inhibits proper hold for bigger hands because of the grip length. Dangling pinky finger sucks. Notice in the video you don't really see him do a proper grip. The sites are nice though.
I love my Sigs but Im done supporting Sig as a company because they discontinued and dont support their products. Sig has a terrible support model that once was legendary. Sad, but as a company theyve fallen far
No one asked for this... How about a legion 1911 or even a 227 if you felt the need to extend the line up. I expected a legion p320 before this and if you HAD to go the compact route why not your new poly wonder? I don’t know a single person who has every carried a 938 and this won’t convert people. Frankly just make a random few new permit holders feel a little more tactical after their local gun shop totes it as the most badass ccw on the market.
I carry a p938 Army everyday... absolutely love that gun. My wife carries a P365 everyday. The first gun she ever has actually been serious about carrying. If my 938 didn't already have night sights and the Hogue over mold grips I'd be very interested in this. If you get a chance, give the both a try. They're great little guns.
@@Highgear145 about 1200. only one stoppage with an exotic Lehigh defense load I tried as a novelty this summer. everything else is money. I carry 124gr HST or Hornady Critical Defense; buy as far as range ammo I've shot everything from Speer to Silver Bear through it. Super reliable. Thr Army comes with night sights and the Hogue wrap around grip. For me, it sits right in my hands perfectly and I have fairly large hands. See if you can try one at a local range. The 365 is also great (my wife gas abouy 700 rounds through hers, no malfunctions or mechanical issues), just make sure its a may of 2018 or higher production date, or a Glock 43 or MP Shield are old standbys as well. I previously carried a Walther PPS, also a great carry pistol. I owned a CCP for about 2 months; but hated the trigger on it.

grady719 I’m seriously going to consider this! My mind might be made up for me after I see how the cerekote looks on the new pistols.😀
Was it worth the extra money that you paid?
I've heard that the finish is garbage and doesn't last.
So yall upgraded everything but the guide rod that was having problems... ?
Next piece right there
I recently got a P226 SAO Legion for $800. If I find the right price, I will get this and sell my Glock 43.
