Hey you know what the originals are always better but I have so much respect for these guys taking on this iconic song! And look at them actually playing! And they are so young! Dear hipster MCR overprotective fans,
I, as a MCR fan myself, don't understand why you are all shitstorming about a COVER.
I'm so sick of you all saying "I hate when these dumb pop boybands come and make covers and ruin the songs"....? umm no.
They aren't covering to seem cool. They are actually covering to acknowledge the bands that inspired them to make music and the bands that they love. Who cares if the cover is good or bad, or if it is exactly like the original or very different. NO ONE SHOULD CARE. Because you know what? They covered to let all of their fans know who was their inspiration and who they love. Instead of you all coming and pointing out EVERY SINGLE FLAW AND DIFFERENCE in a COVER, why don't we all just enjoy the lyrics and be thankful because popular bands are bringing back all of these memories and beautiful songs, even when MCR is no longer together. We should take this as an example of how bands that are no longer together are still alive, and not as an offense.
Also, no one should be judged based on what you play. I listen to bands like MCR, Blink 182, Green Day, Muse, Angels and Airwaves, Fall out boy; but when I do covers on my school talent show, I do covers of Ed Sheeran and 5Sos and pop stuff, and it is okay.
If someone makes pop music, it is totally fine because we all know pop music is a lot easier to make. But even if you make pop music that doesn't mean that you can't listen to punk or rock or genres like that. The fact that you perform pop music on stage doesn't mean that you listen to pop. You can like any genre you like and you can perform a whole different genre, and you shouldn't be judged for that because no one can tell you what your tastes can be. It's simply ridiculous how people are so ignorant. And the ONE TIME that pop artists acknowledge what they truly love and what they listen on an everyday basis, and acknowledge them for inspiring them to make music, what do they recieve? oh yea, hate. You shouldn't critzice someone for what they like, specially if it's something YOU like too, They covered MCR, you should be happy that their music still remains alive, and you should thank The Vamps for acknowledging their inspiration, BUT NOO. You all have to be judgemental perfect asses that want a perfectly exact cover. Well guess what? THIS IS WHAT YOU GET. AND IF IT IS NOT SATISFACTORY FOR YOU THEN YOU CAN JUST LEAVE WITHOUT BEING A TOTAL ASS AND DO THE COVER YOURSELF, SEE IF YOU CAN DO IT PERFECTLY.

I really don't understand all the MCR fans are commenting shit about this cover.
First, it isn't a bad cover, i liked it.

It's amazing how Brad's voice sounds very good even when they are live. Actually they all sound really well live. I loved this cover, I already LOVED the original music and totally freaked out when I heard that they had done a cover. Wonderful as always The Vamps do.

Altair Ibn-La-Ahad mcr aren't really pop punk, they dont really incorporate any pop to their songs, the vamps kept enough of the song and changed enough to make it their own which shows they know what kind of band they are and that they can achieve their own end goal whilst staying true to who they are
This isn't pop punk. Pop punk is ATL, not this. This is a pop band trying to cover a punk song, and not having the right qualities to make it work
ThatBritishFreak i am a massive fan of the vamps, mcr and all time low, i let myself have a broad music taste. This IS punk pop, brads voice here is perfect for it and the guitars support him amazingly! The chorus, where connor is the main vocal is where pop is reintroduced. Bands like blink 182 who where a big influence to the vamps (especially connor) and it really shows, All time low use a quite heavy bass to create the 'pop punk' image you have in your head. In reality both are pop punk. THE VAMPS KILLED IT
Why is everyone so angry in the comments? I grew up with MCR, and get nostalgic just thinking about them. This cover wasn't even that bad, sure, it doesn't have the same power behind it, but they are giving exposure to a great song many fans of The Vamps wouldn't know. Most "new" fans of MCR, Green day, P!atd, FOB and Blink-182 (et cetera) come from people like 5sos and Dan and Phil who have a massive following. At least the bands aren't dying out, all I see in the comments is how (new band) helped discover (classic band). The new era of fangirls have to start somewhere.

I've been loving MCR since I was 13 (and now I'm 22) and I love The Vamps. And I do think the cover is great. Obviously it won't be the same because Brad Simpson is not Gerard Way. I mean, come on! But they did perform amazingly and they had so much fun playing this song and I think that's what important.
As for half the audience didn't know the song, won't it because probably the girls are early teen (around 13-15 and maybe a bit older) but the song was famous around 2007, which was like... 7 years ago? They were too young back then to know about MCR (unless of course, those who had early exposure to punk/rock music).

wow a lot of these comments are really making me mad. it's one thing to have your own opinion, but how about not talking shit about a band in the comments of their own video? the vamps aren't covering this song to please people who never have anything nice to say about them. they're not trying act punk rock or trying to please mcr fans. the only people they're trying to please are their fans. and obviously they've been successful if people in the crowd are jumping and singing along to the song. personally i'm in love with their style and i have a lot of respect for them for doing their own thing. they have talent. of course this song isn't going to sound the same as the original, but they're no need for you to hate on them because of that. it's not necessary

Why have i never seen this.....litterally my two favorite bands and my favorite song. i just had the biggest fangirl moment of my life.
OMG I was obsessed with The Vamps when I was younger. Now My Chemical Romance is my favorite band ever and they mean soooo much to me. It's so cool to see something from when I was younger mixed with my present. I should really start listening to The Vamps again.
If I found this when I was younger , I would hate it. Now that I consider myself a Killjoy, IT'S SUPER COOL!

I was listening to covers of My Chemical Romance songs to see how they differed from the original, and whether it was serious or not, I was expressing my opinion on the cover.

I like The Vamps, and I freaking love MCR, have done for years, so don't take it the wrong way.
Brad's vocal range isn't the same as Gerard's so I don't expect him to hit every note the same as him. But the song was missing a harder tone of voice to it, Brad's voice is too soft to cover MCR successfully, because you need a hard tone of voice, almost screaming, to do it really well. I do like The Vamps, but not the best cover they have done of a song 😕
Okay, let me point out a few things...
My Chemical Romance made this song, it is clearly stated in the title of this video that they made the song this cover is simply a cover. The Vamps covered this because it is a good song, in a matter of personal opinion. Granted, half of the fans there probably didn't/don't know who My Chemical Romance are/were (sorry ;~;) but they enjoyed it, clearly. Also, for those of you saying "they got the words wrong" are you serious? They don't swear live so they had to miss out that word and Brad has an accent which sometimes makes it hard for the words in songs to be clear.
And before you reply to this saying that I'm just defending The Vamps, don't. I love My Chemical Romance just as much as The Vamps.
Maybe if you'd all look closely, you'd realise you've been childish yourself with all the hate.

The decided to cover this song because they like it and if you don't like it don't watch it! + we are not stupid, we know that it's not their song. Maybe the ten year old girls watching do, but just let them It's so stupid to get angry over this. Actually very childish.

Some fans like to listen to covers of songs. And a lot of the time, they are good covers by people with actual talent. But this...this is awful. I thought it would be at least a little decent but it wasn't.
I understand your whole if you don't like it don't watch it I agree with that, but the fact that no credit was givin to MCR "scares the living shit out of me"-qoute from the song teenagers by My chemical romancr.... Not that hard to do. They could have thrown it in the description, or at the end of the song at the concert be like 'hey that was our cover of blah blah blah...... That's what gets me irritated.... Good for them for going for something so great like an MCR song but if your ganna do it credit it.... Also it was shit

MCR are my favourite band. Always have been and mostly likely always will be. I see videos of others covering their songs and it makes me extremely happy, regardless of whether or not I personally think the cover is good or bad. It shows that other people (in this case, a band known worldwide) are greatly inspired and entertained by the work of a band who inspire me and make me happy every day, and it's wonderful to see fans who haven't before heard of MCR discovering a great band through another.
