mate, one question. Why these gcam developers have successfully engineered software which has better perform than the stock camera? don't they have a team which design the software for their own product?

I would guess the manufacturer has to develop the camera software from scratch while the gcam modders might steal Google's intellectual property? (:
I guess Gcam is just a Port from Pixel Devices.
What developers do is, make Gcam compatible with your Device's Sensors.

Been using GCam for a pretttyyy long time now, Hands down best engineered and developed camera there is. But last i checked it was limited to Snapdragon chipsets and no ports for MediaTek processors.
Well , I have a device with mediatek processor and Gcam port works in my device . Only back camera works but that's enough for me . Gcam portrait mode photos are 10x better than my shit stock camera app.
It works with helio p50+ and g80+ chipsets
I think LMC works. I use it on my brother's realme 9 pro plus which has dimensity 920 chipset. But hard thing is to find a good XML or config file for it. Since it varies to different models.
Gcam doesnt work properrly in MTK phones because they don't release their kernel codes... Qualcomm's kernels are open source
I have gcam port on my realme 3( Helio p70) and it works brilliant
It can even beat phones under 20k

4:25 the reason for this difference in images is because Gcam took a second to capture light data. A more accurate comparison would've been turning off HDR entirely in Gcam
Ig you can't turn off hdr completely in newer gcam port. You can only toggle HDR enhanced.
@@arjunna2364 we can. I used 8.something previously and there was a switch for that... Idk about newer pixels but it shouldn't be an issue on ports AFAIK.

@@anilveer2409 you can see the comparison on TH-cam. But basically Nothing Phone takes realistic photos compared to A52s, which has more punchy pleasing to eye colours. Sharpness is definitely better on A52s in less than ideal lighting conditions. Videos and selfies are also better on Samsung. The S20 FE is even better, it has a 3x telephoto.

Is the macro lens supported?
Gcam does work well, although I'd say I feel nothing's pulling off some better shots at challenging situations, so it's not that far off. Although the selfies, nothing produces decent selfies but the look and feel of the image is wayy better on gcam, and the background blur is really good too. It although underexposes sometimes, and I look better in stock camera app but a bit different in gcam 😅 I can't find a way to put this in a better way. Anyway your production quality, ooof, chef's kiss!

Hello, i own s20fe 5g and i m looking for a gcam which supports ultrawide lens.
I have tried many but all of them produced lower quality photos compared to samsung's stock camera. Can you suggest one for me??
I am still using GCam in my OnePlus 7T
especially for ultra wide camera and night mode in ultra wide is top notch

Google camera has shutter lag i think plus the edge detection in stock camera is gradual rather then same blur everywhere. Talk about the pro mode too
It definitely takes a while to take a photo because it takes long exposures, and even longer to process it but the results are excellent

Hey @@niharh4x95, overall it's really good - I'm much happier with this phone than I was with Xperia 1 IV or Oneplus 8
I tried around 20 apps for photo and video, but the original one is always most reliable - it's limited AF, but reliable.
For me the google camera app was only so, so, so (pun intended) I stopped using it after a few attempts.
The moment I started shooting with real cameras all photos made with phones started to look the same to me - they are only for informative purposes (no artistic value).

@@harshsinha12 From service centre perspective, Google Pixel only has service centre in mumbai and hyderabad. If you face any issue with your device you would have to courier them. Also it would take atleast 6-7 days to get it repaired.
Nothing phones have atleast 6 service center in delhi alone.
