My only complaint with the Closing Ceremony is that the formula/structure/script overlooks the fact that the Paralympics are still to happen in the same city and the Olympiad is not really over until the Paralympics have concluded.

That's an absolutely fair comment, I wish they would do more to transition/introduce the Paralympics, it would really help to bring light to those games. I actually have a Paralympic Games video coming out, hopefully next week, stay tuned!

@@voxathletica The IOC and the IPC are two separate international organizations. The Paralympic Games use to be held in a different host city than the Olympics until 1988. The traditions of the Paralympic Games are different as well. The Paralympic torch is not lit in Olympica, Greece. It is lit in Stoke Mandeville, UK, the historyic birthplace of the Paralympics. Also, Greece does not enter first in the Parade of Nations. The Refugee Paralympic Team enters first followed by the first nation in alphabetical order of the language of the host nation.

A beautiful Olympic closing ceremony was in Moscow 1980, when the mascot Misha the Bear was carried by balloons to the sky saying goodbye.

Great video , I love the closing ceremony too though a bit forlon sometimes 😉😸..One of my absolute whole times favourites are : the 1984 Los Angeles and Lionel Richie singing 'All Night Long' and the Athens 2004 as it was one of my favourite Olympics in general with two of my favourite Arab athletes Hisham or Hicham elGarrouj (Marocco) & Rania Elwani (Egypt) appear with the IOC chairman of that time in his speech ❤🌷🙏

The IOC has actually talked about this before, since technically the athletes compete as individuals, it doesn't make sense. They are organized by country because they have to go through their respect National Olympic Committees, but the whole nation vs nation thing is entirely made up, it's just a way to differentiate the athletes. In fact, the IOC has long stated that it would be against the spirit of the games, since they say it's supposed to be about bringing the world together; creating a trophy for a single winning country, to the IOC at least, is counter to that

That's a super interesting idea for a video, thanks! I mentioned this in another video, but I have a few friends/acquaintances who have gone to the Olympics, so maybe I can lean on them for some inside intel. Not sure I can help with Salt Lake, heck it's pretty far away at this point and the video would probably be out of date by then! But if you can go, that would be awesome :)

Since the Olympics are over may I suggest other sporting for you to cover?
The NFL season will be soon approaching in the USA and I thought a video(s) relating to the NFL would be great content:
    1. I think video on the New Orleans saints first Super Bowl win is really fascinating to cover. They won due to three miracles: a repossession of the ball after a punt, challenging a ruling against a referee and recovering the ball after a fumble that could have decided the game against them.
    2. A biopic on Tom Brady's NFL career will get you lots of views.
    3. You could explain the differences between the NFL and CFL in how they play football.
    4. You could make a video of bad plays that cost NFL teams winning their games.
    5. You could make a video on the best and worst fandoms ever in the NFL.
