But then, maybe later that day or that week, you have a section, where maybe 20-30 kids from that same lecture come together to talk more intimately and discuss what homework or what the professor was talking about.

I applied SCEA to Stanford and I just spent the last few hours on /r/chanceme, so I'm ready for that thicc rejection. I'm probably one of the least unique applicants in terms of demographics. Indian male, want to major in comp sci, upper middle class family and no significant financial/familial hardships to speak of, haven't suffered from any terminal illnesses, etc. Basically, I'm a perfectly normal person and haven't had any particularly unique experiences. I feel like I don't stand out enough to have a real shot at getting into super selective schools. I'll be applying to upenn, cornell and rice, so I need to know: does having ‘cancer’ make me more appealing to colleges? Do any of you feel the same way as I do? I've tried to be as honest and genuine as possible in my essays while still highlighting the things that I think are somewhat different about me. Now I'm just trying to find a way to get ‘cancer’ until Dec 15 finally comes around.
