    My doctor told me not to swing that I’ll get hurt. Now I am questioning everything because walking is hurting me more

    • @AECorner
      @AECorner  ปีที่แล้ว +7

      Sorry to hear you are hurting more. We would suggest asking you doctor for a Physical Therapy referral to be assessed on the best way to be walking with your crutches. They will consult with the doctor on any limitations/restrictions you have and help you figure out your best walking pattern. Hope this helps. Take care! ✌🏻❤️😊 AECorner.com

    I am not able to use the crutches yet. The walker makes me feel secure. Thank you kindly.

    • @AECorner
      @AECorner  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hmmm, there are not many ways to walk with crutches when someone is non weight bearing. There is not another technique I would demonstrate in this instance. Since you are not my client and I haven’t seen you, please follow your physio’s instructions.
      Take care! ✌🏻❤️😊

    Just found your channel and boy do I need you guys….how do I minimize the pain I am feeling in my hands from starting with toe down only on walker…torture! I broke femur 19 days ago. Doc says I’m doing great and am now on crutches with 25percent weight bearing for another week. My pt set up the crutches but wow….I need pain pills for my hands and not my leg. What do folks do??? ❤

    • @AECorner
      @AECorner  ปีที่แล้ว

      Oh boy, that is a common problem with axillary crutches. People try to pad the hand placement handles the best you can.
      Check out www.vivehealth.com for crutch accessories like handle pads. Use discount code aec10 for 10% off your purchase.
      Or some people wrap pool noodles or washcloths around them.
      Hope this helps. Speedy recovery 🥰🥰

      @AECorner  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @ehsanakbar1701, we are sorry to hear that. Crutches aren’t always easy to use, especially initially and certainly take practice. They must be taken slow and used with caution. If you are having difficulty we recommend to consult with a local PT for further instruction. Be safe!

      You shouldn’t be bearing any weight through your armpits. You should be bearing weight through your wrists. Does that make sense?

    I don't understand why doctors recommend crutches, which are dangerous, to a person who has just broken one leg as if they want the person to break the other leg and be doubly handicapped. If you are non-weight bearing, you should rest and keep the injured leg elevated at times, and try to do light exercise with the good leg in a safe manner, but not put yourself at risk by hopping around with crutches with these unstable crutches. It is just plain dumb and treacherous particularly for older people.

    • @AECorner

    I dont trust those basic crutch bottoms. theyre so narrow n look like they slip too easily.

    • @AECorner
      @AECorner  ปีที่แล้ว

      @dsz6886 we understand your concern. As long as the crutch tips are new/in good shape they typically work well. Things to watch no matter what type of crutch tip you are using is getting them wet or getting a small piece of gravel stuck in them. Either of these could make any type of crutch tip slip. Take care!
