Had my blood test yesterday and yep- I'm anaemic. Will be issued prescription supplements in two weeks. It explains my extreme tiredness and dizziness.
I recently purchased some iron supplements and have been taking them daily. I decided about two days ago that I want to grow my hair down to my butt (it's currently just below my shoulders), so this couldn't have worked out any better! Hopefully now the shedding will ease up a bit. I'll make sure to eat more wheat, blackberries & dried fruit!
Very informative! Excellent job! Also helpful to try to limit caffeine if you are trying to increase your iron stores since caffeine inhibits iron absorption. Also Calcium completes for absorption w/ Iron so if you are consuming calcium rich foods like ice cream, cheese and milk try to have these foods separately from eating iron rich foods. 🥳🎈🎈🎈
saw my GP last week who confirmed without me asking that I have low iron but this wasn't unexpected because I have alway had low iron. from the 90s my iron been low. so know wonder my hair has suffered over the years😟
Thanks for the info. I realized I was anaemic when my haemoglobin level was 7.9, they didn't do a ferritin test. My doctor was concerned and ordered me to get an iron IV. Now I am looking for iron supplements. Side note: Love your knotless box braids and your eyebrows.
@@moninguyen76 No, I didn't realize at the time. I am a high school teacher so I am use to being tired. However, hindsight is 20/20. I realize after being diagnosed, I had low density hair and my hair wasn't growing that much am I pant after walking up hill not that long. I rationalized that with being unfit. Now, my haemoglobin is 13.2 and my ferritin is about 22 (it was 6, six months ago).
Lol My doctor said you better not eat any more Tony the tiger cereal and that’s my favorite with bananas strawberries Keewee I’ll just put any type of fruit and cereal thanks for sharing sharing
Can you do a video on how you kept your hair moisturized while in this protective style? Did you use a daily leave in? How long where they in?? Thank you!!
I can't buy the iron super food you recommend . It's not on amazon and when I go to the site to purchase,it says its been banned for shipping to the UK. How do I get it?
It is very difficult to have all the iron needs from food alone. I eat all the food items you mentioned on a daily and still are anemic. Extreme anemic to be precise. I have decided to take supplements
@@mpram5522 ive also heard that having celiac disease (gluten intolerance) can lead to poor absorption of iron leading to deficiency. Have u done a test for celiac disease?
It can make you constipated. It would be helpful for you to have your MD check your Hgb, HCT, TSat & Ferrtin to see where your levels are before you start taking supplements.
That's so interesting--Frosties are called Frosted Flakes over here in the States

Can I take zinc supplements with iron supplements?
Take them at different times of the day
What happens if you I take to much iron
That is a very serious issue it can cause death
Nothing it will pass by stool
Unless you are taking by IV into veins
I think it’s a serious issue and could cause harm to your organs, definitely research!
