    Decent video. I'm one of the original "Saturn brats" that moved here in 1990 when I was a munchkin. Spring Hill IS a great town to live in. But we have THE WORST infrastructure I've ever seen in a town. Seriously, living in the middle of old downtown I can actually get to the southern end of Columbia faster than I can get to the northern end of Spring Hill. Also, there is zero affordable housing available. If you work in Spring Hill you absolutely cannot afford to LIVE in Spring Hill unless you are a doctor or you plan to live 4 working people deep in a 2 bedroom apartment. I work with people that live as far away as Hohenwald, Pulaski, and Waynesboro because that was the closest reasonably priced housing that they could find available.

      Thank you for sharing your perspective! It’s always great to hear from someone who has been in the area for so long. I completely understand that affordability and infrastructure can feel very subjective-what’s expensive for one person may be manageable for another, and everyone has different experiences with traffic depending on where they live and commute.
      That said, I do think Spring Hill has its charms, and there are plenty of back roads and alternative routes to help navigate around Main Street traffic (which I’m sure you’re familiar with, given your time here). It’s a growing area with its own set of challenges, but I think that also reflects how desirable it’s become to many people. I appreciate your input and hope we can keep the conversation going about what makes this area great while acknowledging its areas for improvement!

    We moved here in July 2024, development just over border in Columbia on Carters Creek Station Rd. A new construction single story for two seniors was a great option for us. We have family in Spring Hill and most of our shopping is in Spring Hill. Really good description of the area and roads. We give family rides to/from Nashville international airport and after 2-3 times, it’s easy to navigate back and forth. Yes traffic sometimes slow, but not anywhere near as bad as our old state.

      Thanks for sharing your experience! It sounds like you’ve settled in nicely, and it’s great to hear that the drive to Nashville International Airport is becoming easier. Columbia’s growing development is really appealing, especially for those looking for a quieter, more spacious area while still being close to Spring Hill and Nashville. Wishing you the best in your new home!

    Doesnt appear that the new home developments include single stories. I have seen some single stories but they have a door and a single window out front😢 are there any developments where you can buy a lot and have a house custom built?

    • @Matt.Bogosian
      @Matt.Bogosian  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I don’t know of any where you can have a home custom built. Most of the builders have predetermined floorplans and you have to choose one of those.

    • @misterringer
      @misterringer 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The city froze permits for single family about a year ago I think, so other than the builders that had permits prior, you're out of luck on single family. Not sure when/if they'll unfreeze it.

      FULL? It's bursting at the seams. They can't cram any more people in those old cow fields and battle grounds. Remember when there was space between homes? All these new houses and condo's are stacked you can reach out your mini mansion condo and touch your neighbors window. And where did the tens of thousands of people come from? I remember when population was 1000. It is heartbreaking. You have to sit at every new redlight while it changes 3 or 4 times before you can get thru. Main street is a two lane rd with no room to grow and there are thousands of new condo's in every direction trying to get on the little rd. I live out where I can't see my neighbor but I have to drive thru Spring Hill going to work and it's a nightmare.

    A fair assessment of Spring Hill but it is biased toward the Williamson County side. Property taxes are significantly higher in Williamson County than in Maury County, which explains why the schools are ranked higher in Williamson than Maury. Overall, Williamson County has one of the best school systems in the entire state of Tennessee. Similarly, homes are more expensive in Williamson County compared to those in Maury County, but the prices in Maury County are catching up. The main problem with Spring Hill is the traffic (and I am not referring to rush hour traffic) which has increased significantly over the last 20 years and the June Lake development only means more people will flock to the area adding to congestion, despite the new I-65 exchange. Cheers!

    • @Matt.Bogosian
      @Matt.Bogosian  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Thanks for your input Adam, however I don’t think the property tax rates are much different.
      Below are the Williamson County vs Maury County property tax rates straight from the city of Spring Hill.
      Tax Rate
      This year’s (2023) tax rate for Maury County will be 0.739 cents per $100 of assessed valuation of taxable property.
      This year's (2023) tax rate for Williamson County will be 0.739 dollars per $100 of assessed valuation of taxable property.
      Now the homes are worth significantly more in Williamson County especially when you get up to Franklin and Brentwood so they definitely are collecting more money overall. But the rates are similar.

      @@Matt.Bogosian Thanks for your reply. I wonder why then the Maury County schools in Spring Hill rank so badly in comparison to the Williamson County schools in Spring Hill. I guess Maury County has decided to pay its teachers less than its neighboring county. I have lived in the Maury County side of Spring Hill since 2007. I bought a home here because I could purchase the same house for $100,000+ less than in Nashville. I don't have children so schools were not a real concern of mine, but if they had been, I would have decided differently (probably bought in Franklin) or sent my children to a private school. At any rate, I enjoyed your video; you cast a positive light on Spring Hill. Thanks!

    Spring Hill, TN is a terrible place to live. I was born and raised here for over 30 years and it is so so bad. There are wild and rabid animals everywhere that will chase you through your yard. There's homeless encampments that line Main Street and neighborhood parks. There's rampant car theft and water shortages. It NEVER rains here in Tennessee. All the little school children in Williamson County are in little mafias that terrorize the elderly. You have to ask a store clerk to unlock anything you want to buy. All the stores are like North Korea, they look nice but nothing else!!! The only food available is British food with no seasoning. I will live here for the rest of my life bc home is home.

    • @Matt.Bogosian
      @Matt.Bogosian  24 วันที่ผ่านมา

      I’ve mentioned the same thing before, and you’re right - Main Street during peak hours is usually the main culprit. A lot of cities face similar issues with traffic bottlenecks in key areas. For example, Highway 96 in Franklin can get pretty backed up, and Main Street in Nolensville tends to slow down quite a bit, too.
