Watching this looks like you guys got a few of our California serpentine which looks a lot like a Jade. Our Jade is usually closer to a black than a green.

I found a fist sized Big Sur Jade! In my flowerbed at home. Previous owner liked to pick up pretty rocks on California beaches and toss them in her ‘rock garden’. It cut and polished nicely.

Your energy is amazing. I could watch the two of you do anything. So much negativity in the world so the two of you are rays of sunshine . Thank you for what you do and sharing it with the world 🌎 ☺️

Amazing finds. I tried to get to Jade Cove a few years ago, but it's quite hidden, and the path has disintegrated so much it felt scary trying to get down there. I can't imagine how you guys got out after dark.

I wish that I could've shown you some of my "Big Sur Jades" that I found at the Beach Break, that's called THE WILD HOOK, both of my favorite rocks, are the size of my palms, one is blackish-green & the other is a minty-teal green. I keep them together, until I can make a wire wrap of each stone.

Nice! You guys found some lovely pieces!
If you ever want to hunt for jade in Wyoming, I'd enjoy guiding you to some of the best locations! I can also show you a cave full of Youngite. Though collecting is prohibited there, it's worth the trip. The entire cave is lined with white drusy quartz. It sucks to hit your head! Druzy draws blood!

That wave action really shines some of them up. I would think that would make it much easier to spot the Jade, and make the hunt more fun. 👍🏻 👀

Hey great video , just a precautionary note however with the whole abalone shells you find, especially since your memorializing it on youtube, check with California's Department of Fish and Game. Unless something has changed in the last 15 or 20 years without a fishing license and Abalone stamp up in the Fort Bragg area they were ticketing and excessively fining any of us that collected those if they were out of season, undersized or over our limit for the trip. I only say this so hopefully you will not have any issue's with our fish and game wardens! Never hurts to be cautious just in case!

Hi Frank and Kyndall, Love your channel and being able to follow you through all your adventures. If you have the time there is a beach about two and a half hour drive north of Big Sur were you can find a lot of cool agates and jade. The site is real easy to get to and piles of agates right on the beach and also between rocks during low tide. I also live in the Santa Cruz mountains so if you need a place to park for the night hit me up and I can give you the location. Keep up the Awesome videos.

There is nothing like big sur. I can't wait until the jade festival happens again. Since you are a local, would you happen to have any insight on when it will happen again? I haven't been since 2018. Thank you!

@@danksterist yeah their website only has 2021 info. If you Google big sur jade festival it should be the first link. Definitely worth keeping an eye on it was a good time. I think they always hold it next to plaskette creek campground.

Have a buddy that dives there and he has come up with some great pieces. I've come up on some really good stuff beach combing there too. Always a fun time there. It can be dangerous though, those cliffs can be gnarly. You really have to pay attention.

Sorry kids, that's all serpentine. A lot of people make the same mistake. I found a small piece of black nephrite jade when I wax there last. It was about 3/8" around and 1.5" long. It took over an hour to saw it in half with a diamond band saw, and the motor overheated. I have a nice little black jade cabachon. It took a long time to polish it.

It’s a mixture of jade and what they call soapstone we used to find them when we were kids at Jade Cove you would go into the beach area where the sand is and dig down below the sand and there’s a layer of like a clay substance in there stuck in there I don’t think there’s really any value in them
