- The Patriot is back on the dyno once again with a slightly different set up from the last time they were here. Rocking one of the coolest liveries in the racing community, David Brinkley along with Robert Hayes brought over the 68 Camaro and its nitrous fed 959ci Pat Musi powerplant to get dialed in and ready to race. The Patriot is still rocking our FT600 EFI System as well as our WB-O2 Nano's and Peak & Hold PRO, but the zoomies are gone and replaced with a lighter setup.
Not only is the team focused on going fast, they are also very active in supporting veterans through the non-profit Race for Veterans organization. They work with various racing groups to offer discounts and free tickets to veterans for various events across the United States. The team is all about putting on a show for the veterans they support and a show they will get with this new exhaust set up!

I second the need for 1480 u joints in anything over 1500hp
It was my understanding that carbon fiber drive shafts are very sensitive to being scratched or gouged. The fact that they replaced that u-joint with that drive shaft laying on concrete while they smack it with a hammer and then it immediately fails? Suspicious
It works my car has zoomie downward force does happen when I kill my motor if wind is blowing cap off zoomie warp valve

It would be interesting if you could actually measure it (the downforce)....I've seen people try, but never actually succeed. I think you would need to have a bullhorn or something similar on a slider and scale so it's free to move independent of the car lifting on the dyno.
You could do it with scales, realistically who gives a shiz if its “making downforce” if its not actively keeping more weight on the nose during a pull, but as far as measuring it, you could just have a baseline weight on the nose during a pull without zoomies then put em on and see of the number increases
Like William said, people have tried to measure the downforce but it doesn’t actually work like you imagine it would so it’s not really easy to measure the actual amount of downforce.
I have a 4” carbon fiber driveshaft with 1350 u-joints in my 1000 hp street car…. Why do they have the same thing in that beast 🤔
I’m sure weight trying to stay light but now I’m sure they will go with a stronger bigger heavier set up

A real driveshaft is a carbon fiber driveshaft but you might want to upgrade to a 1480 yolk driveshaft and get Gulf Coast Driveshaft to build you one but honestly at the end of the day when you have an engine making that much horsepower and torque in the first place you are going to break consumable parts and in my opinion that is a consumable along with the valve train and a few other parts not including dumb stuff like oil and transmission fluids and so on
Yeah I was surprised to see them running a 4” carbon with 1350 joints. I mean I run that in my street car

All these brains put together and none factor in drive coupling is cooled when in motion thus it retains its full properties.
Those dyno runs are way harsher on drivetrain components than you might think. You must have a fan facing or You must allow a long periods of time between runs to cool-down under car components (like that union joint)
I kind of don't like this guy. He's made a car that's almost radial world strong, but then he runs it versus mid to high 4 cars.
He's been scooping pots with his unfair promod from people who obviously don't have the money for a 150k car. I...think the engine is used? (maybe not?)
I mean, maybe he's racing OTHER places where the cars are high 3's, but I don't think I've seen him race them. That 959 was doing RVW 2 or 3 years ago before the 1000.
Nitros cars don’t make a lot of hp

Nitro methane on nhra top fuel cars make only 12k hp...nitrous oxide is a different story
