    Wow, love your tests. This gives a real impression, what is possible, and what the tires are made for. Big thx again.

    Nice riding, guys! Lots of fun!
    TKC80 is my tire of choice both on R1250GS and 790 Adventure R. Great balance between on-road and off-road. There are better tires for road and better tires for offroad, but I always come back to TKC80s :)

      They are amazing. The just work. I just wish they would make the blocks 1/3 to 1/2 and inch thicker so they get more mileage! - Kyle

    That front tire was my favourite tire. They have been discontinued. I emailed Conti directly. They said discontinued for North Americ and they will be at least a year in designing a replacement. I guess it's the Shinko 804 for me now.

    Greetings from Germany. Would like to mount the TKC 80 at the front and the TKC 70 Rocks at the back of my 790 Adventure R. What do you think of this combination?

    • @chaparralmotorsports
      @chaparralmotorsports  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      We haven't tried that combo, but people like to mix tires for different performance/preferences. Just be forewarned, it may take some miles for you to get used to that combo. Let us know how it goes.

    Umm, I bought my 2016 BMW R1200GSA with 9800 miles and TKC80 which were not new. Now at 15+K miles I have about another 500 miles to go before changing out. That's around 6500 miles. Pretty great for this tire. I ride on and off road two to three times a week. Getting another set.

    Hi good video. I m curious to hear what you think of how the TKC70 compares to other tires in the 70/30 or 80/20 segment? I have been running TKC70s Super Tenere and although I dont have any big issues with them, I am thinking about trying either something from MotoZ (havent decided between the RallZ or the Tractionators) or the new Michelin Adventure tires. How do you think the TKC70s compare to tires like those?

    • @chaparralmotorsports
      @chaparralmotorsports  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you for your inquiry Tim. The TKC70 was one of my favorite road tires. Off-Road however, I feel that there are other 80/20 tires that do a better job in the dirt. The RallZ is more comparable to the TKC80 where as the GPS tire would be the best to compare to the TKC70. The Anakee Adventure tire was very impressive. What type of riding will you be doing? Or more pointed, what terrain do you ride when you do get off-road? -- Kyle & the Chap Moto Team

      @@chaparralmotorsports I commute a lot, so milage is important, but I also see dirt almost every weekend. The place I normally ride are gravel, loose over hardpack where you have a couple inches of sand over harder dirt, loose rock and gravel, and rocks embedded into the trail.

    • @chaparralmotorsports
      @chaparralmotorsports  5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I really like the Motoz GPS tire with a more aggressive Adventure tire up front. That was a great commute combo on my R1200GSA. Great off-road and on-road. I got over 12k miles out of that set of tires. - Kyle

    How are the tkc 80s in the rain?

    • @chaparralmotorsports

      The TKC80's are okay in the rain, but they do not stick as well as some of the more modern tires with silica in their compounds. -- Kyle & the Chap Moto Team

    Can these tires fit my Honda CRF250L??

    • @chaparralmotorsports
      @chaparralmotorsports  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi, thanks for watching our video. They do make a corresponding front, however the rear is only available in 120/90-18 which has a tad bit taller aspect ratio. We haven't tried fitting a 120/90 on the CRF250L so not sure if there would be any issues/clearance issues.

  • @zrig1
    @zrig1 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    They last much longer on the lighter bikes. My KTM 690 got almost 10,000km (6200 miles). I also don't ride them overly hard either. Weekend warrior type stuff. 10:37 dick move :)

    • @HeyAddieImTojo
      @HeyAddieImTojo 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I realise your comment is a year old, but the tkc-80’s seem like a decent tire even for 17 inch wheels. I am thinking of putting these on my 701sm and since you had a 690 (enduro?) i’d like to hear your thoughts :)

    • @zrig1
      @zrig1 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@HeyAddieImTojo Hmmm, if you are planning on some offroad riding I say go for it. Just be aware that the small front rim will make for a rough ride. There is a reason offroad bikes have 21-inch front tires. Smooths out the bumps.
