Question: I haven't had time to check out your Philippines adventures yet, but in your travels, would you recommend Lomback over the Philippines or vice versa (??). We have traveled to a couple of places in the Carribean but find it is getting soo expensive & very crowed there. For us philippines is number 1, we are actually going back there in March for a month so nothing has beaten it so far especially for the beaches. So many Caribbean looking beaches There and also loads of authentic islands still 👍 Lombok was pretty awesome too but doesn’t beat some of the places in the Philippines

you would never find any weird and creepy vendor in Bali..they know how to respect and make tourists comfortable traveling in their island which is why I prefer Bali than Lombok Bali is 20 years ahead of Lombok
Yap the road is very good , better than Siargo too. The views looks similar too . Good point is cheapness , bad is food and kind pple you always find on Siargo.
i don't think it is,, yeah it was one of the poorest, but since the local goverment set the tourism as the priority, the economy of lombok has been increased siginificantly even better than any othe provinces in indonesia
Yeah you should to know if people fasting is not many activity to go out and do anything.. but if sometimes you come back to lombok when not Ramadhan lombok is not quite 😊

12:20 that is so true. I was last year in Lombok, I absolutely loved the island, the beaches, the nature but those beach vendors almost ruined the experience. Once they see a white man they will gather around him and will not leave you in peace until they sell something. Sometimes I had to even rise my voice to make them clear that I'm not interested in their stuff and usually it worked, but it would switch my mood also. Such a shame that the beautiful island doesn't attract more tourists because of this. Someone has to take action and educate those people. They should learn to leave when someone says NO!

You can take speed boat from padang bai(bali) to senggigi (lombok) for 1 hours. Or take ferry from padang bai to lembar port(lombok) for 3hours or more. But becarfull if you going by lembar port as there some drivers will charge you more than you expected and they are quite arrogant. (Im from lombok btw, last few years ago i bring my western friend from bali to lombok take ferry but at lembar port they dont allow my friend take connfentional taxi, and demand they must take their care to go to our destination) and charge more than usually taxi charge

tourist attractions in Lombok are endless, I've lived in Lombok for about 6 years, not all of my tourist attractions have visited. If you go there, the tourist stops at Gili Trawangan and Sembalun
No tipping culture there. The US is the only country with a strict tipping culture. I tip taxi driver who help me with my luggage and also the bell boy.

Lombok is my favourite place in Indonesia - preferred it to Bali - and I am hoping to visit there again when things calm down hopefully next summer

Yeah this month is Ramadhan.. and in lombok 90 % is muslim.. you can't get food anywhere because all muslim is fasting.
