    People who don’t return their carts to the cart corral are absolute douche nozzles. If everyone stopped doing their civic duty all at once, parking at Costco, Target, grocery stores, etc. would be 10x more miserable than it already is. Please do civilization a kindness, bro.

    I want to mention the main reason I went back to an EV…the stress free driving experience. The way an electric car drives, so smoothly, without any clunks and weird noises. The way there is no transmission shifting feeling, it’s one strong direct drive pull. I hate how most cars, even the PDKs I owned, had the feeling of transmission engagement. Having the torque and power at the drop of a hat, zero hesitations, pulling hard out of corners etc. it just doesn’t get old.
    Sure I’ll have a nice 6spd manual sports car in the garage for the weekends but that’s it.

    I’m going on 4 years with my Model Y also. I bought mine in December 2020. Only a few things I don’t like about it. The suspension is very stiff and can be uncomfortable over rough roads or speed bumps. The other thing as a shorter woman is that the seat belt is too high for me. It cuts across my neck and won’t drop down any lower. A couple of updates have come through that I don’t really like. I don’t like the way they changed the access to the music. The update made it more awkward to use. Overall it’s been a fantastic car.

    I have a 2022 model Y, it’s great but the rattles in the interior drives me crazy. It’s really inconsistent and it’s really hard to know where the source really is.

    • @bryandexter7874
      @bryandexter7874 หลายเดือนก่อน +5

      After a lot of investigation, I found the source of rattles (that drove me crazy) in my 2022 model Y. I found & fixed the problem. It was the metal seat posts in the two back seats. I removed the headrests and carefully bent the posts away from each other (or toward each other, I can’t remember). This puts some slight tension on them and keeps them from rattling. It made such an enormous difference. I have no problem with interior noise now. Hope this helps.

    I just got my model 3 LR AWD (acceleration boost, 3.7s to 60) tires rotated. They are at 30,000 miles and they still have between 6-7 32nds left on them. I drive almost exclusively in chill mode because it reduces wheel spin and I live in the city so I don't get to gallop much anyway. I flip it to sport whenever I want to have fun, but for my day to day, chill is the way to go.

    Hey Gjeebs. Given all of your various tests with aftermarket wheels, is there any rule-of-thumb you can share about how much weight you need to save per wheel to get to the trade off of weight savings versus no wheel covers (for Tesla M3/MY). In other words, when does a lighter set of wheels make up for the lack of aero wheel covers? Or are there too many variables (wheel design, off set, etc.) ? Keep up the great work my dude!

    Picked up a 2024 MY RWD SR a little less than 2 months ago. I just purchased the software upgrade that takes the car from 260 miles of rated range to 305 miles. Love the Y. The ride is a little firm, but better than most of the smaller cars I've owned before. It's only been in the low to mid 90's in my area so far, but I'm enjoying using cabin overheat protection when I'm out during the day. Keeps the cabin cooler than letting it bake in the sun, though not as cool as using Keep or Dog mode. Supercharging the Y is awesome. I came from a Chevy Bolt EV, so everything is an improvement with DCFCing. :)

    Carts not being put back in the carousel - THANK YOU FOR THIS!!!! Arizona has a lot of nice things, and nice people, but they are the worst at cart return. It screws up parking spaces, and then people "nudge" the carts over curbs which makes the carts wear out faster. My fellow Arizonans - don't be lazy, and don't be a d-bag to the employees by making them chase all over a parking lot when it's 100+ degrees. Just take 30 seconds and put it in the cart return. It's why the store puts cart returns in the lot in the first place. Thank you for the great videos, and the shoppiong cart Public Service Announcement, Gjeebs!

    I've had my 2023 MY now for nearly 12 months, and the only issues I have had was with the driver's seat moving on it's mounts slightly, which Tesla have fixed under warranty. I'm also noticing some slight creaking near the glovebox as well as the rear tailgate/trunk door making a squeaking/rubbing sound when the car moves around on the road, as if the rubber seals are moving against the chassis/body of the car. I've heard someone else on FB having this issue and Tesla have fixed this for them.

    ur comment on how reliable combustion cars have gotten. early/first 1900's model t's would usually require a motor rebuild after 10k miles. maybe 20-30k if you were lucky. i think it had more to do with the roads back then. lots of reports of people needing to patch tires every other tank of gas, and gas only getting you 50 miles of range. these statistics are a bit hard to read though coz a lot of farmers bought model t's to basically use as tractors and farm vehicles. there was an option to go down to the railroad station and "pick up a truck bed conversion", hence the term pickup truck. i still cant believe the main break for early model t's was just an oil soaked cloth belt that clamped down on the transmission and hence the term emergency break was your backup break only for emergencies. i cant imagine either of those lasting very long. atleast there was right to repair lol

    As a new owner, the heat is really a bothering thing. But I almost have a complaint with the system rather than the roof. I believe the system is capable of outrunning the heat from the roof, but when I'm the only person in it, it doesn't want to turn on the passenger vent or rear vents. I really want them to unlock the software to full blast everything, and have it still auto. that was a bit of an ignorant take - volcanoes and forest fires contribute more carbon to the atmosphere than a regular dude with a car would. forest fires are considered carbon neutral, because plants absorb the co2 and, in a forest fire, they release it back. the equivalent for us would be synthetic fuel, fuel that is carbon neutral, but that would require a massive number of fuel producing plants to meet the need.
    however, due to climate change, acerbated by humans since the industrial revolution, we are seeing fires in places that haven't seen a fire in centuries - like the boreal forests for example - places which were too cold to ever see a fire. so sure, one can make the argument that carbon is carbon, however, cutting back on fossil fuels is beneficial, regardless if forest fires happen or not.
    and to take a point out of your playbook, when you see a billy joe driving his truck to go get drive-thru, who works in an office and only buys that truck to feel macho, this whole thing is addressed to them, not to the guy who can only afford a civic or a corolla. the billy joe is the guy who doesn't put his carts back, doesn't recycle and so on...

    You’re funny and engaging, but your comment about how Volcanos emit so much CO2 it’s not worth transitioning to EV’s for the climate benefits was utter nonsense. Firstly when did you last see a volcano eruption, when did someone you know see a volcano erupt? Never? That’s because they are super rare - but more important they aren’t human activity. Do yourself a favor, since you run an EV based auto channel, go read about climate change before you spew unhelpful nonsense and false equivalencies.

      After a lot of investigation, I found the source of rattles (that drove me crazy) in my 2022 model
      Y. I found & fixed the problem. It was the metal seat posts in the two back seats. I removed the headrests and carefully bent the posts away from each other (or toward each other, I can't remember). This puts some slight tension on them and keeps them from rattling. It made such an enormous difference. I have no problem with interior noise now. Hope this helps.

      We have a solar roof in Florida, and some regions are mostly clean’ish energy sourced, like the predominantly hydroelectric powered Pacific Northwest. I do own a 2023 model y and love it. As far as saving the planet remember every electric car basically runs on a combination of coal and natural gas so your burning fossil fuel and emitting emissions to move an electric car down the road. And let’s not even talk about the mining and production process in making that battery and eventually disposing of the battery. Mine is just over a year old and I have 27500 miles. I had 5/32nd of tread remaining at 25,000 miles on the stock 19” tires.. I am burning about 1/32nd at every rotation which I do at 5,000 miles. I will be looking to replace the tires between 30 and 35k miles. If you really want even wear make sure you do a reward cross rotation pattern, unless you have staggered wheels and tires. it’s a great car and very happy with my purchase, I would not hesitate recommending it to anyone looking for an EV.

    • @GenghisGaming
      @GenghisGaming หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      @@itgoesfast2722 keep in mind though even with the lithium mining and even with the car running on electricity from fossil fuels it will go below an equivalent fossil fuel economy car after a couple years of driving. And that’s assuming the electricity is entirely from coal or fossil fuels, the grid can become cleaner and then the gains even more pronounced. Finally you can eventually power the car off renewable resources like the sun, and also the batteries in the car can be recycled and reused, whereas fossil fuels are pulled out of the earth, burnt into the air and you’re not getting that back.
      So yeah it’s not like the biggest thing you could do for environmental impact now it’s more of a smaller thing, and will get better with time as the grid sourcing improves. The real best way to lower emissions though would to be just stop buying material things you don’t need
