I was introduced to Erik on Venice Beach by hippie Mary. She called him"the good Erik". He'd play for everyone at "food not bombs", and was loved by all. Rest in peace Erik
Hi Milk Dud - as this is one of my favorite performances of Erik's I hope you don't mind my response upon seeing your comment. It is indeed in the directors cut of Deadpool 2. There were many people involved in this decision, it was very carefully thought out by his family and closest friends, and to have this song in a Rated R controversial antihero movie (though mainstream) I don't think does anything to lessen the impact of his legacy or change how we interpret his music as individuals (depending on how you interpret it). I grew up with Erik and played drums in Mischief Brew for over 7 years until the end, and my personal opinion is (speaking as his brother) this would not have been a huge deal to him. He was humble. Not to mention this album (studio version) and song were a collaboration effort, so it is great for the other performers who were involved. Erik once told me "You write a lot of stuff when you're young and angry in your 20's and the meaning changes as you get older". So yes - anti establishment, up the punks, bury me in analog, but also - it's interesting to see people speculate on "what he would have wanted" with regards to Fight Dirty being in Deadpool 2. Anyways.... No one knows, so here we are. It's in there. It's all good. Rock on. Much love!
the guy be ded yo. stabbed on a bench. but I dont give a fuck about your peoples "selling out pity party shit" this music is too pure to be sold out, if anything it needs to be shown to wider groups of people.
@@anarmadillowithagun What do you mean? A guy up in the comments was lying about how he died, and you get mad at me for telling the sad truth? fuck off man
We lost such a great Musician :( rest in power
What an honor, looking back, to have gotten to mix his sound at this show.
Such bittersweet memories from this fest. Great mix!

Eriks song. Will be in marvel movie Deadpool 2 blue ray version August 2018 Erik the best. Love mom
Is his song really going to be in a Marvel movie?... I don't think Erik would have wanted that...
He literally wrote 'Bury Me In Analog' satirizing this sort of thing...

Wow, thanks for chiming in! It's good to hear a response from a bandmate who would know him so well.
Fair enough. Well, at least now I have a reason to watch Deadpool 2 :)
I'm still reeling from the fact that he passed less than two months later
Eriks last name spelled Petersen
Why was this used in Deadpool? I love this band and song but I dont thing Erik was very well known by the "media" :/
Brenda Hill maybe that’s why? I thought it was a good use and it brought my attention to them. Helps the guy out.

@@DarkSparkCannabis He wasn't stabbed. He took his own life, he had emotional issues.
I don't think anyone would stab Erik
